Before you just jump on it being the PSU, you should do some testing on other components. Like I said previously, look into and run memtest, chkdsk, etc. to see if you can pinpoint what exactly is failing. There's no point in replacing the PSU if it isn't the part that's failing. Also, the PSU you want to get is dictated by the peak power draw of your computer, not the games you want to run. Most single-GPU systems are good at 500+, while dual-GPU are safer to be in the 650+ range (Usually. Hard drive, CPU, Mobo, RAM, and other PCI cards and peripherals factor into your peak power draw.) As for brands, I would strongly suggest either Seasonic or Corsair (Corsairs are actually just rebranded Seasonics.)

Kick player out of lockpicking on pick break?
InsanityOnABun replied to InsanityOnABun's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
This might just be me being stupid, but I can't seem to find anything on either of the gates that would do that. The open gate is unlocked and has no script attached to it, and the closed gate is locked, requiring a key which doesn't exist, and also has no script attached to it. -
Anyone know how one would go about implementing this? I'm new to the CK and Papyrus. I'm looking for a way to kick the player out of the lockpicking mini-game when they break their lockpick.

I'm not calling you a liar, but I really do have a hard time believing that Skyrim can cause a system to shut itself off. There are only two ways I can think of that it could possibly do that: the first being overheating, which is more attributed to inadequate cooling than the game, and the second being Skyrim causing a driver to crash which, at the most extreme, should only cause the system to completely lock up. AFAIK, graphics and audio driver crashes can't cause a system to spontaneously shut down.

People have been noticing lag spikes and game freezes since the new patch, so it may just be something that has to be worked out by Bethesda or modders.
-
That's definitely a hardware problem then. Check your RAM with memtest, run a full chkdsk, monitor temps of your CPU and GPU while in-game. Power supply could also be dying.
-
Same problem, game locks up, audio keeps playing. Have to ctrl+alt+delete and end Skyrim's process. I've had minor lockups before where it started working again 5 to 10 seconds afterward, but with these lockups, I've left it sitting for a minute or more and it stays locked. From what I'm hearing this may be an issue with vanilla Skyrim, so we'll see what happens.

Crash your whole computer? As in, blue screening? I'd check if your drivers are up to date, and if you're OC'ed, you might be unstable.

I'd love to see a mod that allows pressing a single button to go into follower command mode. Turning to face your follower, holding E on them, and turning back is fairly quick, but if I could just tap a key and enter command mode, that would be even better.

I like this idea, and thanks for reminding me of this series! I think I'll go read it again...

This would make being a 2-handed warrior werewolf a bit better.

Can't open up the Nexus mod manager for Skyrim
InsanityOnABun replied to Scatterbrain94's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I had the same issues, even when I ran the program as admin. I think what's happening is that the devs of the software made the program look for the folder, but not create it if it didn't exist. So, to fix it, you need to make the folder it's specifying - in this case, Install Info. There's a few more folders that it'll throw errors for as well. You just have to start it up and create the folders that it fails on each time until it starts up successfully. -
Really the only thing that this would improve is how they look during execution animations, especially the throat-slit one with daggers. As it is, you're just running the blunt edge of the dagger against their throat. Doesn't make a difference in actual gameplay, I know, but it irks me whenever I see it.

44 levels in and just now finding armors that clash horribly with the tail, I'm just a tad invested in this save to just start again with a new character. I was aware that they're a beast race, and I was aware that they would have tails. I was not aware, however, that Bethesda didn't tailor, at the very least, their unique armors with variants for tailed races.

Been playing a Khajiit, and I'm enjoying it, but the tail just ruins certain armors, particularly the Nightingale set. The idea would be to, ideally, remove the Khajiit tail only when certain armors are equipped, but a global removal would be fine too.
