Severe storm warnings. Great. Well it's time to lock all the windows, seal the doors and pray that the roof doesn't come off. The sounds coming down the flue are not very reassuring.

So far me and mine are all fine. Everyone further south has got the brunt of it, four people have died already, two killed in their home after a gas explosion, and a poor girl (only 17) was crushed by a falling tree, it really is quite terrible. Britain isn't accustomed to storms like this, and I hope we don't have to be. I just pray this is the last of it, and the thing doesn't decide to come further inland.
