I'd like to shield bash my opponents repeatedly, staggering them with every hit so they can't do anything until I run out of stamina OR they somehow escape my shield bashes. This is pretty realistic IMO - if you are bashing someone in the face with a shield, they shouldn't be able to continue attacking you. In vanilla Skyrim SE, this isn't possible, because every time you shield bash an NPC, they enter a stagger animation, recover, attack you, and ignore your next few shield bashes. Could someone make a mod, preferably using behavior files, to allow shield bash-stagger spams like what I've described? There is already this mod but it has dependencies I don't want to install... Thanks in advance!

I have played Skyrim for several years now and am quite tired of the vanilla NPC voices. I could always install custom NPCs to hear new voices, yes, but I'd actually like to replace some of the voices used by vanilla NPCs. Could someone please create more voicesets for NPCs?

No, That laptop has a Celeron CPU and integrated graphics? I wouldn't bother spending money on it then. Rather start shaking some trees and use the money towards a brand new desktop. No, it comes with two Intel i3 Core CPUs and a Radeon R5 M330 graphics card. Also I can't afford a desktop yet:/

Okay. I can use up to a max of 16 gb RAM, according to my laptop manual (Lenovo G50-80). I'll try getting at least 4 gb more.

I tried downgrading my graphics drivers and it seems to have helped. The first freeze happened after more than 20 minutes this time. In your opinion, would it help if I bought more RAM?
-
yea, that didn't help. CTDs and freezes happened regardless of which saves I was using

Title says it all. I launch the game and manage to play it for just about one or two minutes, then it freezes, though I can still hear the game music playing in the background. This leaves my no choice but to Ctrl-Alt-Del and End Process. I've tried cleaning all the mods, sorting them through LOOT, and creating a bashed patch - no luck. I have attached details below. I have played the game in the past, on this laptop, so it can't be a hardware issue... Any help would be appreciated! I'm playing the Civil War as an Imperial. I finished both Dragon Rising and Jagged Crown, and finished the whole business with delivering axes, and I'm supposed to speak to Prefect Cipius and receive orders for the Battle of Whiterun. I can't, though. When I talk to him, he just delivers generic lines ("Keep an eye out" or something). I activated and deactivated the quest in my journal. I left the cell, waited 31 hours. No luck. He refuses to proceed with his orders. I tried skipping this and directly starting the battle using the "Force start siege" option in the Civil War Overhaul (CWO) debug options, but that makes the game go a bit crazy. The Jarl and his court don't seem to have realised there's a battle about to begin - they just keep talking about me meeting the Greybeards (I haven't done that yet). Legate Rikke acts normal and gives me instructions, but the siege itself doesn't happen. Please help, and don't ask me to reinstall or anything of the sort. Is there a console command to force Cipius to talk? The subject says it all. Skyrim, which had been working perfectly fine until two days back, suddenly stopped launching. The SKSE launcher doesn't work either. I opened the task manager to see if Skyrim.exe was active: it was, as soon as I clicked on "launch SKSE" or "launch Skyrim", but nothing happened and soon it disappeared from the list of active applications. I always run all my games as administrator. This is Skyrim, not SSE, by the way. Please do not ask me to reinstall the game. Firstly I don't see it as a solution - it's just a desperate move hoping the bug doesn't repeat. And secondly, I don't want to have to manually reinstall my mods - or worse, risk losing my saves! I was reading about linguistics and phonology a while back and I just came up with an idea for a Skyrim mod. One of the things that I'd like to see in Skyrim is NPCs calling my character by name, rather than just by his titles (Dragonborn, Archmage etc). And I just came up with a way to add this feature in a mod - although unfortunately, I'm not really experienced in modding, so I'm hoping someone will teach me how to implement this via scripts etc. Here's the idea, given in the form of an algorith: 1. Take any voicetype preset. Eg: MaleElfHaughty. 2. Listen to as many of the voice files under that preset as possible. 3. Extract individual and consonant vowel phonemes from that preset and sort them into different folders. The English language has 27 different vowel phonemes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_phonology#Vowels) and 24 consonant phonemes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_phonology#Consonants). So there'd be a folder for the "ae" vowel phoneme, "dz" consonant phoneme, and so on. 4. When the player names his/her character in the beginning of the game, he/she will also be asked to supply a pronunciation guide for the character. This may be a bit tedious, but ah well. 5. The game will run scripts that stitches together various phonemes to correctly pronounce the name. This will happen for all voicetypes. 6. The game will make Hadvar pronounce the player's name to confirm it once. If the player feels it's wrong, he/she can resupply input to correct the pronunciation. I hope this was somewhat clear. I'll now explain by taking an example. Let's take the name of my high elf mage, Azaril. It's pronounced AAhz-ar-iLL. To start with, I'd like all NPCs with the voicetype MaleElfHaughty to use my name. So I'd go and look at all the voice files for voicetype MaleElfHaughty, play as many of them as possible, and then make folders for each phoneme that appears in the preset voices. I'm sure that SOMEWHERE in the voicefiles for MaleElfHaughty, I can find instances of the phonemes "AAh" (as in ARGUE), "eh" (as in ANOTHER), and "i" (as in IGNORANT). I'll extract some of these instances and save them as separate voice files in appropriate folders. In game, Hadvar will ask me how to pronounce my name. I'll tell him which consonant and vowel phenomes to use, and in which order (duh). He will then try pronouncing my name. If I feel he's not being accurate, I'll correct him. I hope I'm making sense. It's a bit to communicate this across as I don't know much of the terminology used in phonetics. Essentially it's a very simple idea, but one that will need quite a bit of work digging around all the existing lines of dialogue in search of the needed phonemes. I think this could be a great project - not too ambitious, just quite work intensive. I'd need someone to tell me a few basic things (how to extract and repack audio files, how to edit and add NPC mouth animations, how to make NPCS match speaking animations and sounds), and in fact I'm sure I could do it myself. In fact in the long run, this manipulation of phonology could open up several possibilities in terms of gameplay. We could take it beyond simply pronouncing names, and start supplying more voice options etc to NPCs. We could even collaborate with other mods. Ultimately, we could make it so that whenever the player character says anything in-game, s/he ACTUALLY SAYS IT (pronounces it). THIS is ambitious, but I think that making NPCs say PC names is fairly simple. Anyone interested? PLEASE SAY YES, I'm in love with this idea.
