  1. In response to post #28780579. I just happened to peek in and saw that last statement. lol. I am in the process of reinstalling everything because some mods didn't reinstall correctly and its about time anyway. I am not 100% but there should be a help drop down menu in the top of NMM that may have that information in there. Also the nexus wiki is another option to check about their profile switching.
  2. Well I'm not sure why but NMM gives up on the whole uninstall process after a few minutes. I seem to notice this on occasion when I would uninstall a mod to either update or refresh it due to a possible unintended overwrite, an error message would popup and NMM would have to close. Sometimes it would have actually uninstalled the mod, or it may just have left it "alone". Moving on from .56.1 to .60 it gave up several times and closed showing an error message. I think most users who have a large selection of mods, and probably especially those who don't rely completely on Nexus based mods may be better off doing a full uninstall/reinstall of skyrim and start from scratch. At least I have the luxury of being able to transfer my ENTIRE skyrim directory onto a removable HD so things like modified textures or anything else that may be changed from the original mod can be reapplied... It's going to be a PITA but hopefully this BS is a one time thing. I haven't finished trying the NMM auto reinstaller process that it comes up with on startup after the update, so I don't know yet if I will be stuck doing a fresh install or not.
  3. Oblivion has always had some issues with me and a few mods, but for the most part I had them sorted out. Now, I haven't really played it in about a month or so and I wanted to today. Everytime I load up a character the game crashes. It doesn't seem to matter which save I try to load, as they are all in a sense, unplayable. If I load a save that was from inside a building or a cave, the game won't crash, but it looks like I was put in a TFC in the underworld. I can access the inventory but I can't see anything in the normal game screen. Now, I haven't messed with the directory, or any files related to Oblivion since I last had it running, and at that time it would run with little to no problems. Any pointers on which mods may cause an issue like this? Or how it would suddenly act up? So far I've been trying with the more recently added mods but nothing seems to change. Also, I can make a new character but as soon as I exit the creator the screen goes blank again, doesn't crash since I'm inside though.
  4. Alright, will do then. I suppose if I really wanted to I could swap them later on. Thanks, within a couple weeks I'll actually be enjoying games. ;D
  5. I did my best to compare the two and found that apperantly the Intel SSD's have a read/write of 550/520 MBs while the Crucial M4 is 500/260 MBs. I know I could save a few bucks but I am not sure if the difference in read/write speed will affect me so I planned on one that advertised higher numbers. If a lower write speed will cause very little to no impact I may very well go with an M4. The concern is just because I don't know much about how computers actually work and I have no idea what would be the better choices I guess. But if it seems like an OK build then I'll very likely go with it and see how it performs. Thanks for your inputs.
  6. My old Samsung R580 laptop is worn out and I have been looking into replacing it. Been great to me, bought it when they first came out and had a I5 processor. But 4 (Maybe 5?) years later and the screens got a decent sized dead spot on it. After looking into customized laptops I came across some bases that I liked the options available for them. One that stands out in my mind is a Sager NP6350. http://www.powernotebooks.com/configure.php?special=1383 The options I am leaning heavily towards are as follows: Processor: I7 3630 (2.4 GHz - 3.4GHz) Thermal Compound: DiamondTC RAM: 16 gb (2x8) Primary HD: 240gb Intel 520SSD 2nd HD: 750gb Sata2 (7200rpm) Optical drive: 6x Bluray/8x Multi Wireless Network: Integrated LAN/Bluetooth (stock option) OS: Windows 7 Premium Any other option is selected as None or similar response. Any thoughts on how it would perform or if it will be reliable? Also, the standard graphics card is a NVIDIA GTX 660M I guess my only concern is in the hard drive category and processor. I am not trying to build the ultimate machine by any means, but I want to have something that will perform well and the price is great (I feel), my current configuration ends up at almost $1500 but with cash pay I could get it for $1450. Thank you
  7. Ok, that makes some sense. Whatever the case was though, the clothes would bounce, but the breasts didn't after resizing the armor or using a static body instead, thats what I couldn't figure out. By me messing around and deleting the "op" things in blender, that must have removed the link between the clothing and the erased BBB animations that was left over. Like I said before though, I'm not a very experienced modder, I mostly just make attempts to improve existing mods that I have running. So I appreciate your patience with me.
  8. I'm trying to follow your explanation but I can't seem to believe it. I dislike BBB as it becomes a problem with other mods I like. I understand that some of the mods I have include a BBB body with the clothing/armor meshes, but I personally don't really use any BBB clothing/armor/bodies. I will agree that it is an animation effect, but I have to disagree about me using BBB. Sorry if I'm confusing you as much as you are me, but lets just call it a draw and I'll just believe what I want to, even if it is wrong. :D
  9. I did almost exactly what you suggested, however found that changing the weight paint is not a needed step. Didn't change a thing, but by deleting the "op" vertices(?) that are a part of the skeleton that did the trick with no known flaws yet. Again, thanks for the help, and I'm sure I will be able to get it to work for all my other mods I need to mod. :)
  10. I don't use BBB animations, mods that I downloaded and would like to use have BBB, and as I like using this walking mod I have more than seeing bouncing boobs or clothing, I tried to swap them. I have no talent (yet) to make my own original armors so I use other peoples. @Mahtawa Thanks, I'll have to try that now.
  11. Sorry if this was already discussed somewhere else, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I found some great armor and clothing mods I want to use, but I like to change them around to fit the body I use. Some of these are BBB and as I change them to a nonBBB upper body, I can't seem to figure out how to remove the bounce from the clothing. At first I tried removing "NiNode"s that didn't appear in nonBBB clothing and bodies, that didn't seem to work. Messing around in Blender didn't seem to yield me any results either, unless I am doing something wrong. What do I have to do to remove the BBB from clothing/armors? Thanks for being patient with a nub modder like me, and any help is appreciated.
  12. I'm not sure myself, but the way I do it may actually be that "long" way. Make sure you have the race you want to add the hair to in the "active plugin" and what ever hair styles you want to add (like Ren's or Cazy (?)) selected as just plain plugin files. (This method works for me with eyes also). I open up one window for the Race, under the "body data" tab, then open another window for hair (or eyes) that is directly above the Race select. You should be able to add literally any hair style in the game to that race, to do this: Drag n Drop. After youre done moving what ever you want into your new race, save as esp or esm (whichever you decide to try and make it as) and see if it worked. Doing it this way MIGHT take you a while the first time, BUT the next time you have to do it, should only take like 5 minutes, not even if you only want to add a very few things or are only choosing from 1 or 2 mod plugins. Hope this helped. -Note- I am not a very experienced modder, however I do mess around with my game so something that doesn't wreck mine *could* wreck yours (as with all mods, right?) Also, if you want to add spells and other junk, the Construction Set operates on a drag n drop system (I took a while before I learned this)
  13. It is an HGEC body. I think my problem lies within those _n.dds files or the alpha channels. I actually should check it out with several other races just to see. But as far as issues with clothing replacers as you were suggesting, I was having this problem before even equiping anything (total nude). I wouldn't really notice this anyway if I were to have the normal set of clothes equipped as anything I have on is either a set of gauntlets or gloves, but its just one of those things that annoys me on the occasion I try to make a screenshot. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll mess around with what I can and then come back in a while with any results. EDIT: Apperantly the femalehand_n.dds got misplaced. After getting a hold of that everything seems to be better now.
  14. I'm still new to modding by myself. I can usually be able to resize an armor and modify textures that are already made, so I have a vague understanding of how some things work. But my problem seems to come somewhere I can't find with my puny skills. The hands on my character seems to always be very glossy compared to the body. I've tried matching the colors between the main .dds and the hands .dds near the wrists. I've even messed around with Nifskope a bit with the NiMaterialproperty to see if that would change anything. It's probably a simple fix but like I said before, I'm not very experienced so if there's anyone that can tell me what to try to change I appreciate it. Or if it has been discussed and solved before, that's just as good. If ya request a screenshot to better understand my situation I'll see what I can do next time I'm on the forums. -thanks in advance
  15. I had it working with an earlier save again... Reinstalled oblivion with all the mods that I used all the time. I could go to Bruma when ever I wanted, so I figured It was something I stopped using. Then I got comfortable and started DLing a bunch of mods again. I even taught myself how to do simple mod editing (added some downloaded eyes and hairs to the moonshadow elves) and completely forgot that Bruma is the most sensitive freaking thing in this entire game. Kill statues doesn't work, surprise there for me (/sarcasm), and none of the statue update's work. I doubt its the statue now because I've actually deleted the damn statue from existence (unless there's multiple places where I find the file, I looked in Bruma World, cell 2 ?), that didn't work. I tried looking through the scripts for the open cities classic that affected the statue, couldn't understand how to operate it, if it even can. The last time I went through this I believe it was caused by deactivating Kvatch Rebuilt because I seem to remember being able to play on my level 39 character but not the one right after because I had saved after disabling it. Now, not even that character lets me into Bruma. I'll include my load order of what I have now, and even though BOSS defaults a couple cosmetic mods below the moonshadow elves, they need to be above it now for it to work.
  16. I'm having problems going to Bruma. Yes, I beat the main quest. Yes, I have a decent mod list. I have tried "kill bruma statue" and some of those other mods that people seem to think WILL fix it. The only thing I can think of is maybe I have a mod that is keeping that damn statue alive or I had a mod that somehow the statue needs. I never changed my race, however I have changed my hair style a couple times, and I always did the save and load trick I found somewhere. In case anyone might notice a mod that makes the "fix bruma statue" mods inoperable, please point it out.
