  1. thanks ( i will wait for the attack ) - I was not referring to it being caused by a MOD more other information on this forum suggesting a MOD will get rid of it I have 150 defense already - more than enough to kill anything that has attacked me presently ( @ level 41 ) ..I have lots of 5.56 turrets and a few heavy lazer and missile launchers The thing i don't get is the requirement for DEFENSE RATING vs FOOD+ water ... it's silly you build a settlement with walls to keep people out and it has no effect ,as in some settles they spawn inside the settlement ( sommerville place being the culprit for me ) .. You also want to postilion and built your settlement for strategical value but it means nothing as you still have to go by this stupid rating I am at about 150+ defense in greentop and @ about 97% of my building CAP ( it's a modest settlement just with walls ) ... the amount of defense they want me to build would be enough to fill 2-3 building caps
  2. Just had a warning saying one of my settlements is being attacked VIA Synth Infiltration What am i supposed to do ? I have googled and YOUTUBED it - and youtube throws up various battles with synths ... but i don't have that - it's just normal in the settlement even after a prolonged wait Google ( reddit etc etc ) tells me it is bugged or there is a dead settler laying around with a synth component but i can't find a dead settler I really don't understand what i am supposed to do - is there a way to identifying a synth without killing the whole settlement ? scanned this forum and someone suggested a MOD - but i have search all the mods using keywords "Synth Infiltration"
  3. thanks for the reply and explanation - The settlement attacks are truly a brilliant idea ... adding a great dynamic to the game . But i tend to agree with you it's a bit of a mess and kind of makes me want to get rid of the feature too The warning system is terrible ( i had to download a MOD for better warning ) . And then spawning inside the base is just annoying , I had a full load of super mutants spawn inside sommerville place/house .... I would like my settlement design to at least hold some kind of relevance . I think the defense needed is really really over the top - they should just work it out via HP levels of the enemy and the quantity and level of those attacking attacking ie: send better and more opponents based on defense level with a variation in this equation to test and undermine your defenses saying this i have seen alot of youtube clips and some people settlements are just insane very OP

I am only on my second play through the first play through was up to level 39 and now am on my second play through at level 42 ( restarted to build settlements better and add a few mods ) I have some questions about settlement attacks , if you could give me so help ,advise i would be very grateful. No matter how many turrets i add ( 140+ defense at sanctuary and 50-140 in most other settlements ) I always have a warning sign on my pipboy ..under the data tab for all settlements for defense .. do you really need more than 140 defense ? I just usually put 10 powers worth of missile and heavy lazer turrets and some 5.56 turrets I recently have been sleeping and questing and have found that my settlements are all getting attacked but i am missing the notification ... i have since installed the mod for a better warning system . So hopefully this will at least allow me the ability to see when an attack is happening ( vanilla warning system is a JOKE ) My questions are - I have built up my settlements with only one entrance , do i need to place all my turrets and defense around all the sides of walls or can i just have them at the entrance ...... As surely this would funnel enemies to a certain area ? rad-scorpions and other animals just appear from the ground and do the synths teleport so do i need some inward facing turrets ? I have watched a good few youtube video's on settlements attacks and many are very basic settlements with holes and no walls ...so the enemy can come from all sides . With my settlements it is completely walled . But I am still placing them around all the walls. AS for some reason the attacks i have managed to see via notification . The morons in the settlement go outside the walls WHY ? or the enemy spawns within the compound ( even super mutants HOW ? ) another question would be - if i have a defense that is all fine within my pipboy stats will i be successful in it's defense ? As such do i need to return ?...do you ever win sieges when you are not there ? ...As i have had a number of attacks where i missed the notification and lost them all ( only having 5.56 turrets ) Like i said above i have seen a number of YOUTUBE settlement battles And only one was REALLY REALLY bad ..it was carnage and mayhem and lasted for about 10+ minutes ( the guy never had his walls repaired at the castle )

I went and bought a FRAME from diamond city , then went back to my main base to use it to assemble the raider , and other pieces of power Armour i had collected but how do you assemble them to make a NEW ( out of parts ) power Armour ? the power Armour crafting station is telling me I need to load a suit into it ... I can't as it's a arm , a leg , a head , a torso etc etc
  6. i will use Chems now and then when i come across a death-claw or another BOSS type I just pop 1x psycho, 1x med-x and a jet .... I use alot of rad-away - and very rarely i use rad-x I never drink and shoot

  8. I could be searching the wrong terminology ( wording it wrong ) via google or YOUTUBE ...as i can not find the answer . So was hoping someone could help Power amour - NOT full sets you jump into , but the parts you find on raiders and other enemies can these be made into fullsets ? I have collected alot of misfit power Armour parts ( sections ) and I don't know what to do with them ..IF they can be made into a fullset how do you do it ? also just while i am here .... I have built STORES in my main settlement but was going to build more in another - do i I need to create supply lines to that settlement or can i just build them and still get the money and benefits ? at present supply line-from other settlements is TO - my main province only
  9. I am only on level 25 .... having done a restart on my first attempt as i couldn't get the hang of base building . Which i think as a very good feature , when you get bored you just spend time building I was reading the OP's original post and was about to disagree , but then after the initial paragraph - I tend to agree with him on everything because of my fear of the main story ending prematurely ( like VEGAS did ,producing a anti-climax ) I am doing all the side quests and am at a stage, now were the MINUTEMEN quests are just repeating themselves in the same locations . Part of me likes it , as it gives the game longevity but it is very boring to clear out the same area's all the time , time after time . I would whole heartily agree - i miss the caves and underground systems and i would love to see notes ,holotapes with mini quests and rescues more frequent in the game for me - fallout 3 was the best ...Vegas was ok but it just was not as expansive as fallout 3 ... i liked the different ammo feature AND as for fallout 4 , i do like it but i wandering around thinking it's going to end ... the attacks on the bases need to be more frequent also
