  1. You can get around this easy! There is a file, plugins.txt <your account path>\AppData\Local\Fallout4\plugins.txt Right click on this, select properties. A window will pop open, keep it open. Go into NMM and activate all of your mods. Go back to the properties window of that file, check read only, and hit apply. When you need to make changes to your mods, uncheck read only, make your changes, and then recheck read only. Having read-only checked will prevent fallout from being able to disable your mods!
  2. *SOLVED* Ok, so my problem was this: I installed a new ENB http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32594/? and its optional settings. Inside the skyrim.ini, there was a line: bEssentialTakeNoDamage=0 It was in there not once, not twice, but six times. After removing all of them, I was able to complete all my quests and go on my merry way.
  3. Ok, so I originally thought this was a bug with brawling, but the problem seems to have been much worse, to the point of being game-breaking, especially if I want to do the companions questline. Basically, any NPC that is supposed to be protected from death, whether it be from brawling, marking them essential (via either natural or using console commands), cutscenes.... they die anyway. I've been trying to figure this out on my own for a week now, but google has been the most unhelpful thing in the world. This is my current load order... i've already tried the game without half of the mods listed here, but if anyone has heard of this issue, please, let me know! I'm just about to drop all mods and go back to vanilla!
  4. *edit* The problem seems to extend far beyond just brawls. Any NPC can die at any point in the game, including essential marked people. *edit* closing topic because I can't figure out how to edit the title of this topic.
  5. Try to make the following changes: ;Enable(1) or Disable(0) the plugin;Default value = 0bEnabled=1 ;Enable(1) or Disable(0) the Uncapper Skill Experience Gained Multipliers;;Default value = 0bUseSkillExpGainMults=1 ;Enable(1) or Disable(0) the Uncapper Skill Experience to Player's Character Experience Multipliers;;Default value = 0bUsePCLevelSkillExpMults=1
  6. Ok, instead of this back and forth thing, can you post your entire .ini? It might be that something went wrong with the download, and you might just need to try redownloading it.
  7. Are you gaining skill ups as well? If not, check the same things under [skillExpGainMults]
  8. [PCLevelSkillExpMults] ; Set the Skill Experience to Player's Character Experience Multipliers to ; betwen 0.0 and 10000.0 ; Using too low or too high values may crash the game. Handle them with caution. ; Default game value = 1.0 ; (Setting bUsePCLevelNotBaseSkillLevel to 1, will use Character Level instead of Base Skill Level for the subsections) fAlchemy=0.0 fAlteration=1.0 fArchery=1.0 fBlock=1.0 fConjuration=1.0 fDestruction=1.0 fEnchanting=0.0 fHeavyArmor=1.0 fIllusion=1.0 fLightArmor=1.0 fLockpicking=0.0 fOneHanded=1.0 fPickpocket=0.0 fRestoration=1.0 fSmithing=0.0 fSneak=1.0 fSpeech=0.0 fTwoHanded=1.0 This section right here: Setting all of the skills in this section to 1 should enable skill gain. There is one other variable right after these; bUsePCLevelNotBaseSkillLevel if set to 1 try setting it to 0.
  9. I'm pretty sure it's one of my mods causing this, but I cannot participate in brawls correctly. Sure, it'll dequip mine, and the opponents weapons, no one else joins in on the fights... but they seem to refuse to submit. Vilkas during the Take Up Arms companions quest also died, even though he wouldn't attack me either. I'm unsure if a mod is preventing submissions, or what... I also got a papyrus log file, but it appears it's nothing but my mods compatibility checks. Any help I could get into tracking this down would be great, if anyone else has had this before. I tried searching with google, and nothing. Load order:
