okay first off, don't have your new textures name like anything in vanilla skyrim since those new textures will be read and overide the default textures.
-so to counter this rename all of your retextures something unique, such as AAANeetraPotRetex or whatever you want so they don't replace default textures.
- place all the newly named textures right inside of the texture folder so the tree looks like Data/textures/AAANeetraPot Retex
- when in the creaion kit look expand all the trees and look for texture set or something to that effect.
- you'll see all the texture sets that are in the game. open one and change the name to something. ex. AAAPotRetex and then add the images to he file replacing the previous ones. When selecting a dds file it will automatically open your texture folder, so scrol down until you see your new textures.
- once that is done hit save, and it will ask to create new fom...hi yes, your texture is now standalone and will not replace anything and will only be applied to what you want.
- find the pot model and rename it something unique AAANeetraCustomPot and then select, the model. you'll have a window open and see he pot model with the default texture. click on the texture below the model name and select "new".
- a list of textures will appear. find that texture you already made and select it. BOOM your texture is applied to the pot model. hit ok to get out of he window and hit save on the previous model window that you renamed. you now have a custom pot with a custom texture.
- add your new pot wherever in the game world. save your esp, load up the game
- profit

Okay, so the script for the stake is kicking my butt...so it'll take a bit longer. Also I can't seem to get the main npc's faces the way I want them, so I'll have to add those screenshots later, however the back story for these npc is here:
Ronald Jenseric: is the great-great-great grandson of the OVB leader and one of the founding members, Roland Jenseric. At the time of the Siege of the Imperial City, he was just a boy of 10, and his parents offered to assist the 8th Legion in their rearguard action for taking their son to safety when Emperor Mede broke out. Because of this, when the Aldmeri Dominion took the city, the Jenseric family was put to the sword. When he was older he joined the legion and stayed for a few tours..gaining combat and leadership skills. After leaving the legion, Ronald made his way to the more "wild" areas of Tamriel and did freelance adventuring. While he was freelancing he noticed a rise in the organization of the vampire covens he encountered from time to time, which troubled him and let to his goal to restore his family's legacy, The Order of the Virtuous Blood.
Gillien Norvalo: is the great-great-great granddaughter of and original member of the OVB, Gilen Norvalo. Her story is the same as Ronald's. Both were taken by Emperor Mede when he broke his way out of the Imperial City, and both had their families executed by the Aldmeri Dominion. Because of their shared experience she has been with Ronald since. While Ronald served as a legionnaire, Gillien served as an Imperial Mage/Healer in the same legion. She adventured with him and chose to help him rebuild their families work. The Order of the Virtuous Blood.
Grey-Throat the Younger:is the great-great grandson of original OVB member, Grey-Throat. Following the events that led the OVB to expand, Grey-Throat began to develop health problems, and was highly encouraged to return to his native Black Marsh to heal. He grew to and old age and passed peacefully...but not before he had enlisted his family to the OVB cause. When the Younger was born he resembled his great-great grandfather down to the shade of grey of his scales. However as the boy grew, he was very different from his bookish relative. Younger didn't want to research and spend his time in the library, he wanted to be a vampire hunter and slay those beasts himself. He was quite proficient...yet as he acquired more and more vampire dust he grew more and more prideful and that pride turned to arrogance. Because of this, he grew careless on a hunt in Skyrim and was beset on all sides by vampires. He was pinned down and one vampire bit into his throat severing his vocal cords and rendering him mute for the rest of his life. the younger only lived due to the timely intervention of an adventuring party...Ronald Jenseric and Gillien Norvalo. Upon learning their goal, he volunteered to join them in rebuilding the OVB...though his ordeal shook him up enough to retire from the hunting himself and focus on research as his great-great grandfather did.

I'm only an average texture guy, so when possible i like to find usable images for textures specifically chainmail.
I've used this resource for several personal use armors in skyrim..

and the author said it is free to use, however I'm not sure if the author just made a larger image of the existing chainmail or if he recreated the existing chainmail himself (keeping in line with the vaniila chainmail design).
So..if he just recreated the chainmail...could I use it in a mod I intend to publish? or is it part of oblivion's game files and thus can't be used in another mod for another game?

well that mod in question only frees you to enchant anything with anything, as long as it is in vanilla skyrim.
the enchantment that is on auriel's Shield, and the shield itself are based on and in the Dawnguard DLC., so try to find an enchanting mod that includes the DLC.
You could ask the author of that mod if he will include a Dawnguard version, or if you have the creation kit, open it and load both skyrim.esm and dawnguard esm. and change the enchantment on targe the blooded to auriels enchantment (will have a prefix of dlc01 or something like that)

It just happened today. I upload a screenshot I took, filled everything out and checked the "I agree" button.
so on my recent activity page it says i uploaded an image with the correct title, but the image that shows in the corner, is the second to last image I uploaded.
also when i click on the link for my new image it takes me to the page of my second to last image.
how come its doing that? bug? did i go over the daily image limit?

Most of the items are now complete or nearing completion. Still working on the wooden stake model and its script. However hopefully later today or tomorrow I'll have some screenshots of the NPCs. which is when I'll post parts of their backstories on this thread.

Like djjohnjarvis said , you do need an outline about what your trying to do with this creation, and show interest in your own project and take charge!

What this Mod is about
This mod is the work of fiction, it is not canon lore and is made purely for fun and nonprofit. This mod is meant to show the evolution of a faction present in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion in a lore-friendly way and how it ties in with Skyrim's timeline. This mod is meant as a homage to the default faction in Oblivion and what this mod: Vampire Hunting- Order of the Virtuous Blood http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/30568//? : did to enhance the default faction and make it ts own guild questline. That...and My Weapon Wall inspired me (check the links at the bottom)

I would recommend Pit Fighter and its add-on Pit Fighter Travels....well crafted, voice acted, unique gear (new mesh and texture), and the best area experience for Skyrim.
Do to the author's explicit instruction...it won't be uploaded anywhere else.

you could voice the adoring fan yourself, or get someone else too (I would do it)... you can use the same dialogue...as long as you mention that specific line(s) of dialogue are property of Bethesda.

I've had many characters over the past couple of years, and constanly changed thier backstory to suit the arrvial of mod weapons, armor and locations. However I did have one charater who stayed consistent.
Name: Balian
Sex: Male
Race: Imperial
Alligence: The People of Whiterun
Balian was a blacksmith in the Imperial City following the Great War, having been a child thru the conflict, he now was 15 and a man in the eyes of his master and granted leave to start his own smithing business. With a loaded pack, a sword he had crafted and a map of Cyrodil he left the city with a song in his heart headed towards Bruma.
As he was traveling, Balian encountered several highwaymen who attepmted to extort 100 gold from him. On prinicipal Balian declined and was forced to defend himself. Having crafted weapons, Bailian had also learned to wield them, as his master believed that being capable witha blade helped you make better weapons. Because of this Balian was victorious until he encountered a highwayman with friends a mile from Bruma. After refusing to pay, he was beset on all sides and recieved slashes to his face, shoulder, and thigh. He was saved only by a timely intervention of a Legion Forester and a two man Bruma Scouting Party. After thanking his resucers and gettign patched up Balian arrived in Bruma tht evening. Much to his chagrin, while he had been assualted, another journeyman smith had arrived before him and had taken the position of Bruma's Smith.
A few years later, Balian had become quite the adventurer around Bruma and Northern Cyrodil. However he longed to return to smithing as his primary form of income and upon hearign of war breaking out in Skyrim, he headed there..only to be captured and accused of treason. Long story short (too late) he escaped when a dragon attacked with Ralof and made for Riverwood. He did some free-lance adventuring for the various townsfolk and got some work from the villiage smith to forge some more complex armor and weapons for a traveling noble. As the summer began to end Balian went to Whiterun and began working there as a veggie picker, wood gatherer, and worked on some specialty gear that he sold to Warmaidens for quite a few gold. A month after he arived he heard of a bounty for a bandit leader, called Singar the Cycolps. He bagged the leader and upon reaciving the bounty became somewhat famous to the people for his willingness to help, and he has been serving the people of Whitreun since...

I know of a couple:
-Agent of Righteous Might: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33766//? very well done quest mod, voice acting, new locations, new (more like resurrected) faction and more. Quite lore friendly and fun if you like playing as a covert operative.
- Pit Fighter and Pit Fighter Travels: on the Steam Workshop, not anywhere else by explict intruction of the author. Has a full blown Arena fight and reward system, much like Oblivion's Arena. Special Boss fights where you get unique weapons (includes new meshes and textures, plus some new ones crafted with a combo of old and new). Also you can perform quests for your fellow arena combatents. Pit Fighter Travels is a add-on for Pit Fighter and has new locations, armor, weapons, and boss quests.Titles, money and glory await!

ehh..I don't think its odd. As for the voice acting...I could do it, I do have a decent mic and do like to record myself talking (yea I'm that type of guy).
As for minor mods...make a mini mod for each part of your grand mod that covers a diffrent mecanic:
-such as do a mini follower mod to figure that out
-make a mini converstion for a npc to work on dialoge and speech trees.
- make a mini quest of "go kill that guy or get that apple" so you learn how to make a quest
That way, when you go to work on your Grand mod, you'll know how to do the basics.

Well..stupid is not the right word...ambitious would suit your plan better. :thumbsup:
As for the possiblity of getting all of that to work...without any prior experiance....hope you have soundproof walls and a lot of bourbon. cause you'll be doing a lot of this :wallbash: followed by this :sweat: when it works.
Its great that you want to pull a mod like this off, but I would suggest putting it on the back burner for a few months and create and release some minor mods to ease into the modding scene and gather that experiance with the tools of Oblivion.

try Oblivion Character Overhaul, its been released for the past couple of months..but in my opinion its the best way to make the faces of npcs and your character more realistic and more Skyrim-ish.

Well... all of those mods listed are excellent, but I feel you left out three good ones, that I find essential for gameplay;
- Reeners Guard Overhaul: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/5977//? makes the guards less godlike in their ablity to hear and see right/wrong, also separate crime bounties for each of the cities
- Oblivion Character Overhaul: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/43612//? makes all the vanilla races less potato like and greatly adds to the realism of npc and player faces..may not work with Rens Beauty Pack
- Vampire Hunting- Order of the Virtuous Blood: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/30568//? this is in my personal top ten list for Oblivion. It merges several different mods to create this one a fully standalone mod...and it has it all...dialogue, custom armors, custom weapons, new quests, new bosses, and ranks that takes a minor faction in the game that only had one quest and fully turns it (pun intended) to a full blown guild and quest line comparable to the vanilla guild lines.

the body replacer should be installed after the unofficial patches...since the mod will override the vanilla clothing with versions that fit to the body replacer your wearing. installing the body replacer before the unofficial patch will cause issues including but not limited too crashing, texture problems, and your oblivion game crapping itself.

yea i still play skyrim...oblivion too....and once in a bluemoon ill whip out morrowind. TES games never truly die...they just like to hide in our closets for a break.

going with pure vanilla (Vija and a few others are so awesome its not a fair contest) Serana is more in detail, wuth story and interaction. Frea is just a typical follower who trips over everything and is just a thrid wheel.
So serana wins out of the two but I cant stand either of these two as followers. Frea is just a typical follower, while Serana's whole daddy issue and problem keep reminding me of a vamp teen drama. when i want one, I ll watch The Vampire Diaries.
Truthfully im a solo player 99% of the time, the other 1% i order them to attack giants... if they survive i keep them for a while, if not... one less follower to use and more loot for me.

there are several unique dragonpriests each with there own masks. Also there is Karstaag.... more like a major boss ... and lurkers count as mini bosses, so does the Frostmoon Pack and the riekling chief

i always leave a few septims on the dead boss of whatever dungeon or contract for the brotherhood.
I always picture myself saying "here...this funeral is on me" then i walk off

for the health, magicka, and stamina you don't need to edit those in the kit. just when you load up your character openthe console, clickn your character and type setav health 600 or some number, how ever much you want and hit enter. repeat for magicka and stamina, by replacing health wih those words.
as for the swing speed, that is determined by the type of weapon and is changed on the individual weapon page in the creation kit.
