Ok fair enough this isn't a super solid hypothesis and I know godhood in the Elder Scrolls doesn't work that way.... but my point is that the thalmor are still hypocritical and really only out for themselves. Maybe they don't want to be gods perse...but if there goal is to eradicate mortality, so that everyone still remaining on Nirn will be immortal, that by itself could be seen as a very noble goal. However, as has been defined (according to earlier replies) to eradicate mortality will require the genocide of man basically, and the thalomor are willing to pay that price....but (and knowing it probably won't work this way in practice) would the thalmor still be willing to commit genocide to eradicate mortality if it was any other race besides men? I would answer yes, even if it was other elven races, but if it was the altmer on the sacrificial altar of mortality, would they do it? No they wouldn't ,because they don't truly believe in eradicating mortality, they only believe in it, so far as they can benefit from it. ******as for Talos achieving godhood by his own hand....that is a whole other thread just waiting to be started.....*****
  2. To answer the OP's orginal question: No the Thalmor don't worship Sithis. While others have answered that the thalmor wish to regain their divinity, which is kinda true, but I'm thinking this..... modder3434's theory: the thalmor do what they do, not out of faith but out of greed. They looked at the religons of Nirn and picked this one becasue it offers the most/best benifit(s)... Becoming a god of the world.....assuming they successfully destroy man and talos. however I'd bet all my septims that if Talos showed up and offered godhood imedialty to all who wanted it, all the thalmor would do a 180 and praise Talos. thus the thalmor (and others who share in their views) are nothing more then godless, souless, compassionless, hearltess opportunits who stand for nothing but themselves.
  3. I have no vast experiance about mods that enhace textures, lighting and whatnot, mostly becasue I play on a laptop (for all my games) and skyrim pushes the limit. I'm glad I caught someones attention who knows how to seperate meshes (something that I haven't learned yet) :dance: I did notice that on Malacath's sword, but if I'm being honest the akatosh and boethiah's swords were the ones that i was eyeing. will you upload a test file when you have the mesh? EDIT: if you want I could texture it after posting I looked at your mods, it seems you have no trouble creating textures as well...but the offer still stands.

So has anyone else noticed the several weapons that are apart of the various statues in the game...and wonder why they aren't avalible to use: - Sword from Boethith's statue - Sword from the Akatosh shrine - Sword from Malacath's statue I guess my question is has anyone been able to seperate those models from the rest of the mesh?
  7. ok, this is kind of ridiculous. In general when the lore/canon is written they they to stay with the name of the player character, or rather what made that character special, (Neverine, Champion of Cyrodil, Dragonborn, Lone Wanderer, Courier Six etc) which tends to be gender neutral, however when writing, it becomes almost impossiable not to use pronouns. "He" just tends to be the default when writing rather then "She". As for the canon coming out and saying what race and gender....who cares, but think of it this way. Take into account the time period and the location of the game. -- In Morrowind, they aren't going to retell the story of the Argonion Neverine who caled herself, Lizzie, rather they will picture a strong, male, anoymous Dunmer who was the one who was promised and he who delievered them fromt the snares of Red Mountain when the story is retold - In Cyrodil, they aren't going to tell of the the tale of the Orc Coc whose name is Smashing gro-Smash, rather they will picture the majestic Imperial in his shining steel plate armor who aided the last Septim Emperor in closing the Oblivion Gates forever. Bottom line it depends on the time, in Elder Scrolls its a medevil /fantasy game, males tended to dominate those areas of society. As for Fallout, its the 1950's with advanced tech, there was plenty seperation of the races in the 50's, though granted in a wasteland raveged by nucler bombs...yor color of skin matters very little...so in this case its probably just to appeal to the greatest base of people who play the game.

  10. Guild Starter ,search it on Skyrim Nexus you can have your guild members (followers or whoever you choose) do a mulitude of tasks, one of which is gathering materials of all sorts such as ore, wood etc. its quite fun, my guild is a homage to a web series, we are the Knights of Good!
  11. what mods were you installing and did you look for them in the right place? meaning...what mod retexture did you install? if it was a retexture of a glass sword, did you look at a glass sword before determining if it was working? also did you manuelly install or NMM install? sometimes NMM can be wonky and if you installed manully then its possiable you put the files in the wrong place. FYI there is no "conformation" that a texture mod was installed... you have to confirm it by sight.

  14. I didn't mind the vanilla Oblivion faces, and until OCO came out I thought other face mods changed too much, in my opinion. I like OCO because it builds upon the vanilla system, and it makes ti easier to create an appealing character.

Hello Nexus, Whenever I'm in Chorrol I stop to look at the statue, the one with the woman holding her slain son/ husband/ family member anyway, I notice that the helmet that is a part of the statue looks awesome. Is there a mod that has made that helmet playable ? I'm aware of the Statue Weapon and Armor Resource by ElderScrollsFan, but it as of yet does not include armor except for a few shields. So I guess the point is...is there a mod that makes that Greek style helmet playable, if so could someone direct me to it or could someone make it so. (I'm aware that its a combo of a mod discussion and mod request, move the thread if needed)
  16. yes, short of using the Convenient Horse mod and/or opening the Creation Kit and renaming them it may get tedious, but it won't cause game bloat, or take a spot in the number of mods Skyrim can run before going wonky (general limit is 60, some people reported getting up to 150 without bashing them together)
  17. open the console by pressing the tide key ` click on the dog or horse so you have its ref id in parenthesis ex: (01001cbg) type in console setactorfullname Shadow then hit enter, if you want a longer name or two names then setactorfullname "Shadow the Black" they should keep that name until you quit the game, then you have to redo it

  19. - play thru Dawnguard and conjure up an undead dragon to fight the dragon chasing you - use the bound weapons spells (technically you did conjure it) - run and scream like a girl, especially if you play with deadly dragons....may Crom have mercy on your soul - roleplay as a Sorcerer, which as Oblivion's description put it, can wear the heaviest armor...so you can last longer in battle. - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30657/?   20. When in doubt, add only weapon / armor mods , resolution and unofficial patches from the get go. After your started (out of Helgen) then if you want install the script mods, animation mods , companion mods, and major quest mods in threes and test as you go. that way if a problem arises you have a good idea of what mod it is or what combination is causing the Skyrim Sorcery. Happy Modding! P.S. Read the description or readme: most mod authors (not the guy who published one mod three years ago) have details regarding any special installation requirements, compatibilities etc, in one or both of these areas.....when in doubt RTFM!!!

I know you said you wanted to keep the vanilla bethesda vampire feel, However, regardless of what vampire lore you read on the internet, it all points to "feed = strength", "not feeding= weakness" While some might suggest one of the larger vampire overhauls, if you want to keep the vanilla/dawnguard feel but want a change, try http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23205/? Vamprism Inverter Dawnguard works great and keeps the bethesda feel, while being more logical in its feeding approach.
  23. Thanks, this is still being worked on, but at a slower pace then before. Mostly because I suck at scripting and making quests in the Creation Kit, which is why I'm working on ports and other small mods while I figure it out. Its my "white whale" so to speak. I have an idea for the main story, but I could use some ideas to help flesh it out...send me a pm and I'll share what I got so far, story wise. glad to see some folks are still showing interest.
  24. maybe... I'll craft a version of Sundrinker...and/or have it replace Arkay's Fury. As for the Night Lord's Armor....I did have something similer in mind. If you recall at the end of the OVB quest you could kill the Night Lord or join him.. (cough) hint hint I killed him. True to the Order to the very end. Then I guess the choice will be easy for you. either way you'll still be able to get the armor.
