  1. open the console by pressing the tide key `

click on the dog or horse so you have its ref id in parenthesis ex: (01001cbg)

type in console setactorfullname Shadow then hit enter, if you want a longer name or two names then setactorfullname "Shadow the Black"

they should keep that name until you quit the game, then you have to redo it

  2. Wrong forum, try "Skyrim Mod Talk".

That said, the reason Jyggalag is not present, is because chances are he has not had enough time to regain his strength. So he is either non-existing for the time being, or he really got nothing to show off with. Lets also not forget Sheogorath is up and kicking, and evidently looks like the champion from Oblivion.

An artifact from him could be nice though.

a recreation of his sword from the Shivering Isles?

  3. - play thru Dawnguard and conjure up an undead dragon to fight the dragon chasing you

    - use the bound weapons spells (technically you did conjure it)

    - run and scream like a girl, especially if you play with deadly dragons....may Crom have mercy on your soul

    - roleplay as a Sorcerer, which as Oblivion's description put it, can wear the heaviest armor...so you can last longer in battle.

    - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30657/? Held Book acts like a sheild, but its a book, for magic users!

  4. When in doubt, add only weapon / armor mods , resolution and unofficial patches from the get go.

After your started (out of Helgen) then if you want install the script mods, animation mods , companion mods, and major quest mods in threes and test as you go.

that way if a problem arises you have a good idea of what mod it is or what combination is causing the Skyrim Sorcery.

    Happy Modding!

P.S. Read the description or readme: most mod authors (not the guy who published one mod three years ago) have details regarding any special installation requirements, compatibilities etc, in one or both of these areas.....when in doubt RTFM!!!

  5. I know you said you wanted to keep the vanilla bethesda vampire feel,

However, regardless of what vampire lore you read on the internet, it all points to "feed = strength", "not feeding= weakness"

While some might suggest one of the larger vampire overhauls, if you want to keep the vanilla/dawnguard feel but want a change, try

    http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23205/? Vamprism Inverter Dawnguard

works great and keeps the bethesda feel, while being more logical in its feeding approach.

  6. So... is this still going on?

My name's Daniel Aidar da Rosa, I'm the creator of the Kendrel's questline and co-author of the VH - OVBE mod. David Brasher is one of the most brilliant minds I've ever seen in the modding community and I'm sure he'll be as pleased as I am with this homage, if you someday go through it. We had some fun together, but we ran off of steam.

I really, really hope you keep it up. I'm very curious on how this will fare.

I'm shitty at modding and I'm still a stranger to Skyrim's CK, but if you want some help with your story, ideas for quests and opinions, I'm all ears.

    Best of luck to you.

Thanks, this is still being worked on, but at a slower pace then before. Mostly because I suck at scripting and making quests in the Creation Kit, which is why I'm working on ports and other small mods while I figure it out. Its my "white whale" so to speak.

I have an idea for the main story, but I could use some ideas to help flesh it out...send me a pm and I'll share what I got so far, story wise.

glad to see some folks are still showing interest.

  7.

This really looks like fun, Will you include the Night Lord's armor and Sundrinker from the expansion mod? I loved the Night Lord's garb in Oblivion and Sundrinker was amazing!

maybe... I'll craft a version of Sundrinker...and/or have it replace Arkay's Fury. As for the Night Lord's Armor....I did have something similer in mind. If you recall at the end of the OVB quest you could kill the Night Lord or join him.. (cough) hint hint

I killed him. True to the Order to the very end.

Then I guess the choice will be easy for you. either way you'll still be able to get the armor.

  8. Ok, Long story short I was working on recreating the Order of the Virtuous Blood for Skyrim (still am, check signature)

My computer blue-screened and I lost all of my current work (only a temp setback). However with this new slate I have a question.

Can I use am image of the OVB Symbol from Oblivion that I found on Google images or other similar engines?

Its my understanding that you can't just rip it from the game....but could i use an image of it from the internet, or does that violate any rules?

hope someone can clear this question up. Hate to finish my mod and then have it removed because it violated terms of service.

  9.

First off, have you installed and run BOSS, if not do it.

I used BOSS and then reorganized some plugins manually. My load order is fine.

Second, if you installed via NMM then you have missed the skill and experiance that comes with manual install of mods

I use Mod Organizer to manage my mods plus Wrye Bash and TES5Edit to handle incompatibilities.

Thrid, keep all esm (master files) seperate from esp (plug-in files).

Unofficial patch esps are treated as esms and should be put after their respective masters. Besides, BOSS put them that way.

Do I really need to put a big disclaimer "I know how to handle mods!" here? None of above solutions are related to Falkreath CTDs.

No you don't need to have a disclaimer, but other people have had problems regarding installation via NMM.

I don't know you personally, and all I have to go on is the load order...so I asked basic questions..akin to calling tech support and them asking if your computer is on.

thank you for the tip about the unoffival patch esps, that was something I didn't know.

however running over 60 mods active, does increase the chance of Skyrim bugging out.

could just be a choke point for your game with scripts, and the like. I get those sometimes.

  10. First off, have you installed and run BOSS, if not do it.

Second, if you installed via NMM then you have missed the skill and experiance that comes with manual install of mods

Thrid, keep all esm (master files) seperate from esp (plug-in files).

Fourth, After the 60th active mod is installed, then Skyrim Sorcery begins to appear.

Fifith, double check install of SKyui, skse, and FNIS (if you have it)

Sixth, when in doubt don't use any enbs, more trouble then they are worth sometimes.

  11. Soultion 1:

did you maually install or install thru NMM?

if you installed thru NMM, hold still.....SMACK (Gibbs style)

sometimes if installed thru NMM it will show in the data files and whatnot, but the files aren't atcually installed.

so maually reinstall all the mods

    Soultion 2:

If manual install, did you check the apporiate boxes (a common mistake)?

    Soultion 3:

are you using a legit copy of skyrim? (have to ask, some people have asked for help and it turns out that they were pirates :pirate: )

    Soultion 4:

have you tried simpler, smaller mods and see if they work? soem of the mods you listed are a little complex to install

  12. no..not in the data folder.

you should be installing skse where the TESV.exe is, which is located in steam/steamapps/common/skyrim

and from then on, run skyrim thru the skse.exe you get. (make a shortcut and place on desktop and check run as administrator)

    profit

  13. reinstall (regardless)

then under the tools folder in your data folder click on the FNIS update

    skyrim/data.tools/fnis for users/update application

then go into game and it should have fixed your animation problem.

fnis is used by a lot of animation mods...if you don't want to use fnis..ignore it. unless you add a mod that uses the system having the framework shouldn't affect you. However remember to always use the update feature when uninstalling an animation mod or installing an animation mod.

  14. only thing that comes to mind is...

having the unoffical esp inbetween the master files?... all the master esm files need to be segerated bythemselves, same for esps.

run BOSS...just to double chack your load order, and look for any error messages or warnings.

get rid of the enb, sometimes they are more trouble then there worth.

double check the overhauls that affect objects (flora, static etc) its possiable that poorly optimised models could be clogging your system.

    that's all i got....

  15. now my game crash every time it load

SkyUI?i know i got a folder call skse

well make sure that skse is installed correctly.

open your skyrim folder under steam apps so it looks like this.

    steam/steamapps/common/skyrim

then open the skse download via 7 zip or other program

drag and drop the src folder into the skyrim folder, do the same for all things in the skse download minus the text files.

override if asked (maybe from a previous installation)

    profit
