I havn't had any problems with FONV, and I only play in offline mode. dont read this as being sarcastic because it isnt. but you're lucky. lol i wish my steam worked as well as yours does.

on a lighter note, i think the ufo nuts might have a field day when those papers are released. lol im also a bit interested to see whats in them.

i really cant stand, not hate because that would mean i would have to think about crApple & their over-priced ypods, yphones, ypads, ymacs & whatever other crappy things they make. as for why i put a y instead of an i infront? well thats easy, like others have said you can easily find a better & cheaper equivalent. hell, i dont really care about paying extra for what it looks like. if it does what i want, a decent price, reviews are good then ill buy it. vacuous people that only care abou the aesthetics, not what it does? lol

whats the beef? well as others have said, ill complain about the same thing. sometimes the smallest thing can make you not want to play a game or use an app. things that members have already brought up that im also annoyed about with steam: updating reverts back to auto-update even when you change it. like a few people, i actually like to know what a patch does especially with games. i like to see if there have been any problems, then make my own damn decision if i choose to update or not. not being able to login or play offline. i a laptop & a desktop. the laptop does 99% of net-related things and the desktop is for gaming & video. its an annoying hassle to have to change settings on the A/V & firewall, plug the cable in, then wait for things to update. whats the point of having offline play if most of the time it doesnt work?

i havent looked into it thoroughly, but i dont think theres too much wrong with the wikileaks thing. it seems like a good exercise in embarrassing stupid people. as far as vietnam & all the other wars, the troops can only do as ordered, regardless if the commander-in-chief or any other leaders had the size of their manhood insulted or not.

sorry for the OT, but we are fan boys for choosing nvida? well thats pretty harsh. i couldnt be bothered checking, but isnt the meaning of "fan boy" someone who loves, pushes, defends something regardless of how good it is? what was ATI have gotten better & closed the gap, while nvidia has had some average cards, it seems that ATI had more bad than good. it all comes down to preference & thats what james prefers. also if CC & Thor were fan boys, they might have said something like "just go nvidia, doesnt matter what" but i dont see that in the replies. to me, nvidia just seems to have an all-round better quality product, but then i must be a fan boy along with all the other nvidia users. i have to say that nvidia's release of drivers has become annoying over the last 6 months or so. it seems that some app download sites like filehippo have been getting whql drivers at a faster rate than nvidia's site hosts. 263.09 is the latest ive seen, while nvidia only has 260.99.

one bad game i remember was on the 2600, apart from ET, it was called something like Space Shuttle.

over the last few days ive been playing some amiga games. shadow of the beast series, the great giana sisters, uridium 1 & 2 but to name a few. some great memories there.

some of the buddha bar mixes are pretty sweet & a worthwhile listen, of course preferences are always different. that track kind of reminds me of track that sasha put out on his expander ep.

after playing this game for about 20hrs so far, i have to say that most aspects of the game are decent. but that said, being a s.t.a.l.k.e.r. sorry i have to say i prefer those games, mostly because of the better graphics.

thats probably the only thing i like about steam. the ability to back up games with patches & to download the whole game. but i'd rather not have to re-dl a big game like fear 2 or something though lol

even though i dont think you need backing up, i also have a 260 & dx11 shows up in my dxdiag too.

i just thought i would chime in about HW. i couldnt get either one to run on 7 x64, im cant remember if i tried as hard as i could though lol. i guess this is an obvious one to mention, but after looking at some of the stuff that was posted of the Black Mesa Source Half-life thing, it looks good. while it has been a while since they started on it, i did see a post by one of the devs that their internal release date is on track lol. ill have to post when i think of some more games

sorry, but i actually wasnt really trying to state a case for a conversion to, or staying with the system in place now. since i dont remember seeing any comments about pre-decimal money, i thought i would throw it in there.

ive been thinking about this a little more, and thinking about my previous reply. im not sure quite how to put it, but i think they were all thinking reasons, and doesnt really go into the why. but i still think the answer is pretty simple though.

damn. yeah ive been using the same browser for years, so i tend to forget to do that lol. all works with no probs now. so you can close or delete, your choice. sorry for the hassle, but just shoot me later after i dl some mods though lol

good post gregcoll. while people getting their own net connections is high, i think its rather ignorant of some games companies aligning with steam to say something hey this is our way to combat piracy, when in reality it doesnt really. its quite obvious that ubisoft & other companies that do it dont really care about gamers. an example of what they dont consider would be: someone has some spare time to game, but they cant because their connection is down. while dropouts are now very rare for me these days, but to others regardless if they live in a 1st or 3rd world country hapens or if they are with a big or small isp it still happens. ive been wondering about how much of losses can be attributed to people not buying games because of people not having the net to activate or play. i doubt the number would be high , but it was just a small thought that i had. its probably not all i wanted to say on this matter at this time, so i had to be quick cause i got to go.

im not sure if i didnt reply the right way in the "having problems logging in?" thread last week, but no-one has replied to my problem & sorry if im getting a little antsy too. im having trouble logging in to the other sites like the fallout 3 & NV pages. im getting the "32 character limit" error. but i did change my p/w because i had a couple special characters. the length of my p/w is now 26. but im still having that error. can i ask, is there something else im not doing right?
