Hello, So I'm new to the modding thing and really struggling to understand what's going on here. Important note: I am making this mod for PS4 so I can't do the easy/obvious things that scripts might allow. My goal is to apply a custom poison health effect to the player, always, under certain conditions. I've got this basically working but there's some really odd behavior that I don't understand. Here's how I've set this up, maybe there's a better way (no scripts, remember): Some of it may seem redundant but that may be because I've gutted it down to just this one piece of functionality right now. A tome applies an effect that applies a Perk. Perk applies an ability/spell - My Spell. My Spell conditionally applies constant magic effect My Magic Effect - which is a constant poison on the player. Now, here's the bit that is weird: When my conditions block the magic effect, I can see the active effect drop from my list and the poison effect stops draining health. However, I can't wait or fast travel because I am still taking health damage. Am I really? Why?? :sad:

Hey, thanks for the reply. The settings in Skyrim default to Ultra and the only thing I've fiddled with is turning AA off and on when I was trying ENB. I thought ENB may have been causing that water glitch (which is the first oddity I noticed), but I was wrong. Since then, I've been on ultra settings without any ENB. I've also tried playing with and without any mods. I've been using Mod Organizer, but I still manually removed mods and even deleted my entire Skyrim folder and re-installed the game through Steam. These problems persist regardless of mods. My specs are: CPU: i5 4690k RAM: 16GB 1600 GPU: GTX970 Samsung EVO 500GB SSD (Could SSD cause a problem?) I've done a lot of digging trying to figure out what's going on, and I read that 4GB VRAM caused issues in the past. The GTX970 does have 4GB, if that could still be causing issues. As for "system settings" I've tried going into the NVIDA control panel and giving everything over to the application for Skyrim (didn't help), and then reverted back to default. I even tried a third install after disabling user account control in Windows because I heard that can cause issues.

Sorry for being vague but I don't even know what terms to use here, I literally just built my first PC and Skyrim is the first thing I've tried to do with it. Rocks and wood textures seem bugged out no matter if I play without mods or play with mods in any conceivable order. The weird water smearing thing is also present in any configuration. I've tried reinstalling the game (including deleting the entire Skyrim folder).

Playing Skyrim is hard. Can anyone tell me why my rocks (and a lot of other textures) look like crap? I've tried all sorts of texture mods, disabling/enabling, redownloading, reordering.
