How do I UWV Unwrap a Sword for Skyrim in 3ds Max?
azlakal replied to azlakal's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
@Elathia I just went ahead and did a flatten-map, and then meticulously adjusted everything, but I will use that method for my next project! Although you probably explained the plane projection method perfectly well (and it is going over my head), can I ask you what that method might be called, or where I could see how to perform it? -Thanks You! -
I am brand new to making weapon mods for Skyrim, and it seems i've ran into a problem with UVW Unwrapping in 3DS Max. I can UVW unwrap any other piece of my model properly, but for whateer reason, the blade will not flatten, it will actually get thinner and harder to texture. I am trying to make a Norse-style sword for my first mod, mostly to be able to finally release my first mod and get feedback, but the blade has me stuck. The issue lies after UVW unwrapping my entire object, and then trying to use any mapping method, whether "flatten" or preferably "normal." Instead of the map getting wider, it actually becomes thinner and snakier, making it impossible to use for my UV map. Relaxing does not seem to fix this problem either. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated! Here is a link to a video I just made demonstrating the problem. I am very *very* new to UVW unwrapping, and although I am having a hellish time with it, I would still love to be able to make mods and give back to the Nexus community!

Well, im not sure what piece of advice worked, but I disabled some of the mods you guys recomended disabling, and now the light eventually adapts back to the gamma it is supposed to be at after around 10 seconds. Thank you all so much for your support, and thank you for letting me enjoy fallout 3 again without distraction!

After I finally got my game to run perfectly at over 60fps, not crash, and still have other mods installed, I noticed that when I entered megaton at night, everything got progressively brighter until it looked unusual. When I walk outside, it is still unusually bright, but if I wait for an hour, it goes back to the normal pitch-blackness. I made a video to show the issue, as it is hard to describe... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_fj4m84j6Q&feature=youtu.be

I wasn't saying I thought you were a troll because you were a girl. I just saw the picture at an odd angle and thought to myself "well I must have worded it in a way that a rotatated web browser could be the troll answer." Upon looking at it, I found what youy were saying was quite concise and helpful, and I now realize that I need to check these forums more often!

Thanks you so much! I have been trying for months, and when I saw your answer, I didn't consider (very sorry, but I saw the tilted sceen and just said "I bet this is a troll") this, but now my game runs! Thank you so much Purr4me

I have just recently installed ENB for Fallout 3, and now my game crashes and reads the line "a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program." I have tried both the injector and wrapper version of the ENB's, and i have unistalled and installed them pristinely. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my game, deleted .ini files and ran the launcher, but it seems the problem all narrows down to the file "d3d9.dll' When I move this file out of the fallout folder, the game runs again, but I know it is essential to the ENB itself, and really need some of ENBoost's modifications to make my game run smoothly. I check my event viewer (if this helps) and found the error as an application error, which reads... Error 11/2/2014 11:30:23 PM Application Error 1000 (100) or a longer version reads... Fallout 3 Can not run ENB/Instant Crash when using ENB
azlakal replied to Dracses's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
I am having BOTH of these problems, and cannot find a single answer online. I can kindof fix the windowed when fullscreen glitch by hitting ALT+TAB really fast, but there are still miniscule white arrows on the top corners of the screen. For the love of god can anyone solve this?? -
I had this exact problem only a few weeks ago, on a totally competant PC as well. The issue is Skyrim's inherit shortsighted scripting, as mods make the game progressively more unstable without counter mods. What you need to do is use ENBoost, and increase the avaible VRAM. Then go into the skyrim.ini, and increase your multithread value to 5 (if your processor has 5+ cores) as well as some setting in the prefs.ini. After you do the, install SSME and choose the appropriate settings for your system. If you want, I could post my Skyrim.ini and Skyrimprefs.ini settings, but the only reason I don't go into more detail is because there are already guides online on how to do this. made my game go from CTDs and freezes to running beautifully! Hope this helps!
