Well, it worked so far. Haven't reinstalled everything, but the basic game worked. I also noted that the "Dual wielding redux" mod seem to have disappeared from Nexus. Heh, maybe the author suddenly realized he's done something seriously wrong or something. I guess one shouldn't be too current with regards to mod! :biggrin:

Ah, thank you. That's what I didn't do, deleting the previous Skyrim folder. I will try that and see if that works. Wish my luck! :biggrin:

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for being unclear. What I did before this was adding the mod "Dual wielding redux" and "Wingspread abode" from Nexus. I use NMM, btw, and always use that to install my mods. Before this, I was playing Skyrim, and it worked flawlessly with many mods and all DLC with no problem whatsoever. That's why I was surprised that when I tried to fire up Skyrim again, it CTD. I then removed the two latest mod from Skyrim, again, using NMM. Still CTD. So I uninstall them all, then reinstall Skyrim whole. It still CTD. Then I reinstall just the basic Skyrim, no mods, no SKSE, no DLC, just the basic. It STILL CTD!! I just don't know what else I can do at the moment. If it was mod problem, wouldn't removing the latest two mod fixed it? And if it was load order problem, why would NMM suddenly mess up the load order after installing mods with no problem many times before? And also, wouldn't removing the latest two mods after long periods of perfect running fixed that too?

My Skyrim just CTD after the Bethesda logo for no reason whatsoever. It was running not one hour earlier with no problem. I did add two mods from Nexus, but removing them did not seem to fix the CTD. Then I decided to uninstall all mods and reinstall Skyrim completely. Even with fresh install, no mods, and before I even reinstall a DLC, it CTD again after the Bethesda logo. Nothing new with my Windows or computer, no new drivers or anything. It's a Windows 7 64 bit BTW. What's going on here? What could've caused something like this? Can someone help?

I just tried to download a file from Skyrim Nexus, manually as usual (not using Mod Manager), and from the server option I choose the Dallas server, which seem to have unusually few activity, compared to the other servers. But the file I was offered to download was some 'Nexus downloader.exe' and not the file I was trying to download. Needless to say I cancelled. I tried again several times, and it's always the same, with different kind of files too. I then tried other servers, and the file download proceeded as normal. I wonder if the Dallas server was hijacked by some malicious entity, causing less aware Nexus user to download potentially dangerous .exe program. Using Nexus' credentials, no less! Anyway, just want to point that out to you, in case you were not aware.

I have a question: what's the name of the texture files for thieves guild armor's boots, hood and gloves? I am having problem with those parts being brown, which looks awful because my thieves guild armor (replaced) is black. But if I look at my textures folder, the ones for thieves guild armor are all black. Where did they get those brown textures anyway? Can't find the meshes file for the those parts of the thieves guild armor either, only the ones for the cuirass, as they were not replaced.

I'm having the same problem, selecting any kind of elves (not sure about orcs) will crash the game. It happened after I installed CBBE, so that might be it. No solution for it yet, though. I guess I have to go back to UNP... :(

Was it a some sort of DDS attack? Yesterday I downloaded something, and noticed that all download locations have 2000+ load. Just seem kinda impossible, that's all. -
Help! CTD right after joining Imperial legion

Looks like it's related to Castle dour (the Imperial legion base in Solitude) and not the quest at all. I tried simply entering the castle and going right back out, not doing anything, and it crashed. I guess it's turned into a roach motel, you can come in, but not come out. -
I seem to have run into a hard CTD, i.e. it happened every time. It happened right after I joined the Imperial faction, i.e. talking to legate Rikke and sworn in as legion by general Tullius. Then I exited the Castle dour, and the game crashed to desktop. It don't matter where I exited the castle, I tried exiting through the upper level door, and it CTD. I even tried using the console command coc to somewhere else far away (Whiterun), and it still CTD. Hopefully someone knows what's going on. Oh, BTW I do have lots of mods. I finally had to reinstall Skyrim to get rid of the unwanted mod that change my follower even though I've had all mods disabled. Had to delete all Skyrim folder too, or it'll happen again even after a reinstall. I wonder just what is this persistant, unwanted mod that lingers after it's been disabled? It changes Jenassa into a long-haired woman, BTW.

Amazingly, I just reinstalled Skyrim, and it still have something that changed follower appearances! Jenassa seem to have an ApachiiSky hair. What do I have to do to get rid of this mod!

I think there's a leftover mod that change my follower's appearance, although I've disabled anything that might remotely affect follower looks! Is that even possible? How do I find this hidden mod?

All of my followers have mismatched face/body texture. Aela, Lydia, Jenassa, all of them had different face color than the rest of the body. The thing is, I already disabled (unticked) all mods that modify followers, and still it's mismatched. What else can I do? Would unticked mods still leave something that affect the game? I don't have to reinstall Skyrim, do I?

I am sorry I have to create a new topic for this, but I don't know how to describe the problem in a few words, which making searching for an answer for it difficult, be it here or in Google. Basically I have encountered a bug where my character can't attack or sheath weapon or change weapons/spell, or fast travel. It's usually when I have a weapon in one hand and a spell in the other, then tried to change the spell with quick menu. I can still access inventory and stuff, but trying to change weapons/spells did not work. I can still move around though, and can still shout, but not fast traveling. It's been happening a lot lately, since I upgraded to a new computer with Windows 7 64-bit. In my previous play with Windows 7 32 bit I've never run into this issue. BTW, it's happening a lot in Fallout Nev Vegas as well, not with using magic in one hand, of course (no magic in New Vegas!) but with switching weapons during crouching. Again, don't remember encountering it back in my 32-bit days. I wonder if it's somehow related to the gaming engine in 64-bit environment? Is there solution for this problem, or even a work around using console or something.

My characters love enchanting items. It helps her "pull above her level" so to speak. So she has everything enchanted, rings, amulets, weapons, armor, what have you, even earrings and stockings (from mod). Mostly standard stuff like fortify stamina or one handed. But sometimes these enchantments are not registered by the game. When I checked the list of modifier currently in effect (in the Spell menu) some of the enchantment effects are not there. I think it's not just missing from the list too, because sometimes I suddenly found certain enemies take much more effort to kill than usual. So I think the list is accurate, if it's there it's in effect, if it isn't, then it's not in effect. Removing and reequipping said items fixed the problem. But I don't have to have to check the list every so often just to see if my enchantments are still working! What causes the game to "forget" certain effects, and how to avoid this? I'm beginning to lose hope here folks. It seems like there's nothing that I have not done that could possibly make FNV work in my computer. Is it possible that it just somehow simply won't work in a particular computer setting, Windows installation, whatever? What's so different about my computer's current state compared to others that have successfully run FNV with Windows 7? Why only this particular software that refused to work? -

I always put my games in my d:\GAMES directory for easy locating. BTW the Windows 7 was a fresh install (not upgrade from a Windows XP install). And I think I've turned UAC off in my Windows 7. -

At this point I'm not even trying out mods just yet. I think the base game had to run well first before that! So no FOMM just yet. I've tried updating the codec and directx says I'm up to date, but it still crashed after the copyright screen. -
I'm a longtime New Vegas player, have played NV with tons of awesome mods, even created a few myself. That was when I was using Windows XP. But ever since I upgraded to a new computer with Windows 7 many, many moons ago, I've never got NV to run again on my new system. It just crashed to desktop after the copyright screen ("Fallout New Vegas ® Bethesda Corp, yada yada yada..."). I've tried all the common suggestions found on the internet, like running in compatibility mode, as administrator, disabling intro screen, download an alternate d3dx9.dll, modding the .ini files, and so on. Nothing has worked so far. If there's a solution, I bet folks here who lives and breathes Fallout universe has got to be the one that has it. Or at least I'm hoping it is so! My computer should meet and exceed the system requirement as my old 'puter can run New Vegas with tons of mods with no problems at all, and this one is an upgrade of that. It's a Core2 Duo E7300 (2.66mhz) with Nvidia 9800 GT graphic card. BTW the New Vegas is a fresh install with no mods whatsoever, and still it won't run. BTW the Fallout 3 don't work either, with the same kind of problem. No error messages at all except "FalloutNV.exe has stopped working" message. BTW my computer runs many other newer games with no problems at all, including Skyrim (which uses a derivative of Fallout engine, right? Even the console command is a lot alike) Basically there doesn't seem to be any reason why FalloutNV won't work in my computer yet it didn't.

I agree, all the males in Skyrim seem to be the burly Nord type, that looks like members of Hells Angels biker gang. Mean looking, scruffy, with lots of facial hair. While there are fair numbers of attractive females. My female character might have to settle for a Khajiit, at least their kity face is cute, but there are no marriage-able Khajiit...

Heh, given than in Skyrim all men seem to be quite barrel-chested, I'm sure plate armor made for men would fit a women just fine! -
same thing with two handed weapons, follower would always equip them due to their higher base damage. Even if they're not really skilled with it!
