@Kinlar...... YOU. ARE. A. LIFESAVER! I haven't played Skyrim for six months because of this annoying ctd, and because I'm too stubborn to start a new save. Then today I just thought that I should check out if someone has found a fix for this - and there's you, with your post. Oh dear lord you're great - IT WORKS!!! Thanks to you I can finally start enjoying this game and what it has to offer :) Edit: I actually didn't have an invisible item in my inventory but it worked anyway.

@MOTOSXORPIO: Yeah, gotta love it. I think I'm going to move back to Nvidia.. But yeah, good thing that everything works now :) Saves work too! Spent this whole day installing my mods.

Sorry for late reply, haven't been able to be on computer since i've been fixing my car. @zoneofdarkness: It was actually a problem with my ATI drivers... I cleared registry, went back to vanilla skyrim and reinstalled Skyrim twice but nothing helped. I've had Catalyst 12.3, and I think this caused crashing. Updating to Catalyst 12.4 (which came out couple of days ago? Downloaded it yesterday) fixed this problem. I have Asus HD 6950. @MOTOSXORPIO That, I didn't know. I feel kinda stupid because I didn't try older drivers but at least it is working now.

I've been having problems with Skyrim a long time now. This is my second Topic about this (the first one was about CTD with SKSE and it dropped so I didn't want to bring it up because it's not about SKSE anymore). I deleted all my mods but Skyrim crashes on startup. I deleted (moved to another location) my saved games - nothing. I even reinstalled the game TWICE. Before installation I deleted EVERYTHING that had something to do with Skyrim; Saved games, whole skyrim folder under steam, Skyrim.ini, SkyrimPrefs.ini and cleaned registry. I have tried everything there is; Changed my sound format, checked my ATI drivers and in Steam I did the following: Verify integrity of game cache AND defragment cache files both about 10 times but no luck. Steam Cloud is disabled. I think that I should download a copy of Skyrim (I own the game so no harm done) JUST to try if Steam is causing these problems.. I have tried both Beta and Stable release of Steam. I'm really losing all the hope here. I've been waiting for this game from the day I heard from it, and now the only game I would like to play doesn't work. I have played this game 81 hours so it wouldn't hurt to get my saves working also. Last but not least, all these problems started when patch 1.5.26.0 came out. Thanks!

@MSHoap13; Yes, I have ENBseries and also SmartDoctor but I have tried without SmartDoctor, still crashing. :( @MOTOSXORPIO; I wish that was the case, my game isn't even starting so saved games shouldn't be the case here.. :s @agunsthemagi; It actually crashes faster if I disable my mods.. :D I don't think that this has anything to do with my saves, because I've had problems with my saved games, and it did let me to main menu. If nothing else helps, I just have to wait for a new patch or something.. Thanks anyway! If there's anything else I should try, please tell me :)

Hi, I have been having this problem a lot lately, and now there seems to be no workaround for this. I have been trying to find help from this forum, but without results, so I decided to make a new Topic. Everytime I start SKSE with NMM I get a CTD. To be exact, my game never starts and only this black box appears and after that, nothing. Steam sometimes says I'm playing, and leaves green lines around my avatar for a while, but no game has started. I have the newest uncapper so that shouldn't cause this. I have also tried both links from silverlock, but neither works. My TESV.exe seems to be right version. If I have forgotten to mention something important, please tell me. I've been sick from sunday so I'm running out of juice.. :)
