  1. Would anyone be willing to make some armor/clothing that fits Room207's bodybuilder body? There have been a few that are all really good but thats it! Also, is there any kind of clothing or armor mods out there that take the shape of the body mesh? For some reason I think I have heard of something like this before but I can't find anything on it.
  2. If I understand your problem correctly, try making the custom race .esp your active file when making your custom CM partner (follow the same process as outlined in the tutorial except you will be making the custom race .esp the active file instead of creating your own .esp). The in game crashing is probably due to the fact that there is no .esm for your custom race of choice and the .esp that made your companion can't recognize the dependencies in the custom race .esp (obviously, since they are both .esp's). If that does not work, take time to explain the issue in a bit more detail, as your first post was slightly confusing :P
  3. Both things you suggested worked. When I started a new game the actor was no longer essential. I also was able to use this mod (in case anyone is having the same issue) to identify my actor's BaseId's to change their essential status via console commands. Thanks for your help fg109. Kudos.
  4. Originally, I made all my CM partners essential (the ones I actually went into the CS and made myself). Now, however, I would like to make them non-essential. So I went into the CS, unchecked the "essential" box on one of them (just to check and make sure it would work) saved the .esp and minimized the CS. I went back in game to see if the changes had been made, but the partner was still marked as essential, even though his box was no longer checked. Any suggestions to fixing this? I really just don't want to have to make two versions of all of my CM partners just to get some to be non essential.
  5. Well i kind of came up with a solution myself. I took the lowerbody underwear mesh from room207's mod and put it in the mesh folder. Then I went into the cs and assigned that mesh to the lowerbody (like pants) as clothing. So as far as getting the "default" bodybuilder underwear to be like clothing, I have gotten that taken care of and it works fine. But i guess what I really would like is some more "underwear variety." Female characters already have a ton but there is NOTHING at all for male characters. Would someone mind making a couple more underwear variants for the male characters? Please?
  6. Basically you aren't really creating a "new" .esp. Essencially (sp* sorry) you are simply adding your custom race partner to the existing custom race .esp. All you have to do is go into the CS, select oblivion.esm, cm partners.esm, cm partners.esp, and the custom race.esp of your choice. However when you get to selecting the custom race.esp, go ahead and make it the ACTIVE FILE. This allows the game to recognize the mod's dependencies within the .esp, whereas it crashes when you have a brand new .esp (it can't load/locate the necessary dependencies if done that way). Then go ahead like normal and design your partner the way you want it, following the tutorial (if you are new to the cm design). Save your "changes" (additions really) and exit the cs. Your new custom race partner should be wherever you placed him/her and should work like any other race. I have done it with at least three custom races so it should work. If you have any more questions feel free to post them.
  7. Can you not just use the legs slot? I mean after all, thats the area it is in anyway. It would function the same as greaves or pants. And it is obviously possible because it is done for female characters all the time. Basically all it would do is function as clothing to replace the lowerbody bodybuilder mesh with an underwear version.
  8. Yes, I will most certainly do my best to. However, you have to use bash if you want to utilize face switching. Its not possible any other way (as far as I know). If you have any more questions tho, feel free to ask as I may know the answer. As far as custom race CM partners go, just make sure that you set the custom race.esp as the active file when making a new partner. Otherwise you will will have to create an .esp to deal with dependance discrepancies. It can get kind of confusing and frustrating, but as I said, don't be afraid to post questions, becasue if i don't know the answer, chances are someone on the forums does.
  9. I don't believe that something like this would take very long for someone who knows a bit more about editing programs than I do, but could someone make underwear that is removable? I have searched every where I know to and I can't find anything like it. I use Room207's bodybuilder body and I have another mod that allows you to use equipable body variants (including the underwear version) but the big problem is that you can not wear any other type of armor or clothing with it. I would like equipable underwear that is for the bodybuilder body and can be worn with other garments (except pants, obviously). As far as looks go, they can look like the red default underwear for the body. Would someone be willing to do this for me? I can provide any more information as needed if this is not enough.
  10. If you havent noticed already, I can't provide support for this thread anymore. Work has been building up and of course, that takes priority. Sorry for the inconvenience! I may still be able to help with questions regarding partners, but I just don't have the time to make them anymore.
  11. Does anyone know how I can make the allowed number of friendly hits on companions or other friendly npc infinite or just ridiculously high? Im really tired of getting in close quarter fights and my companions decide to turn on me because i accidentally hit them one too many times. I saw a mod that makes it 20 hits, but I want it even higher. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  12. That my friend is a ridiculously AWESOME amount of info :) good work! Ill start on it just as soon as I can. I am a little worried about the hair because its basically like trying to combine about three different .esp's into one. Could be potentially problematic but i'll see what i can do to work on it. Just give me some time and I should have your partners for you:)
  13. Just like the title says, I need assistance finding the nif files used for vanilla creatures. I am trying to create creature CM companions, (a minotaur and ogre specifically), but I can't locate the minotaur skeleton (so all i have to do is change a premade creature companion into a minotaur's look). Everytime i go into my meshes\creatures area, there is nothing there relating to any vanilla creatures. Yet, in the CS the skeleton path is mapped as creatures\minotaur\skeleton.nif. I feel like im missing something elementary here but any help is greatly appreciated
