  1. Hi! I have used mods for years but never had the courage to attempt to create any mods myself. I watched the RedMod tutorials and studied for a few hours, downloading Visual Studio Code and practicing creating a mod like the tutorial. I'm sure it's way more complicated than that, but I would like to try two ideas I have. The reason is, I love CP2077 but I feel like it's way too easy especially with Quick Hacks. I have two potential fixes: 1. The easier one, I believe? is my biggest gripe. You can QH someone from a block away with say Overheat, and they still don't know where you are or attempt to find you. Sometimes they try and hack your location but it never seems to work. My solution would be that any damage causing QHs immediately alert enemies and cause them to act hostile, not just search (sometimes they don't even do that). I'm not really sure what scripts control that, maybe detect or something, but or Var Threat or Var Detect or Player Hostile but obviously these are complicated trees drawing on other trees. I could really use a more direct hint if anyone knows what controls enemy AI detection and Aggro. I mean if you shoot them with a non-silenced weapon, they know you are there, I would like the same thing for Overheat, Contagion and Shock, etc. 2. The second one is more complicated, but I would like to make it more challenging to use QHs. With QHs you can slow time, and automatically "hit" your opponent. Even at 10th level I was regenerating RAM so quickly, I never ran out of Overheat attacks. I believe an interesting way to do that would be - if possible - compare levels and make it % chance for effect or some kind of reduction in damage. For instance, if I'm 10th level and they are 10th level, my QH attack only would have a 50% chance of affecting them or maybe only cause 50% damage. I mean, it's not a perfect fix, but it would lessen the effectiveness of such attacks, and make them more challenging and time consuming and expensive to spam for effect. And if I can implement #1 above, at least you would be under some pressure while trying it. Again, any hints how to approach this would be appreciated. I can't find any more detailed guides after hours of searching. I thought maybe there would be SOMETHING out there that would at least explain where things (like detection, hostility) are generally, or how they are approximately related. Maybe I'm just too inexperienced to know how to search for this. If you have some guidance, I would greatly appreciate it.
  2. update: Deleting all the ENB files fixed this but not sure what it was that caused it. Still would love to know, b/c the ENB files fixed the Dawnstar issue I was having.
  3. Ok, I have 100+ mods, it's my third play through, and everything was going fairly well until Dawnstar. I am not 100% sure but I think Expanded Towns killed me there. It just kept crashing and crashing, sometimes working great, then not at all, then inexplicably not working at all again. I sought many remedies and did many things, I can't even remember. I disabled all my mods, turned them on one at a time or so, installed enblocal, changed all kinds of weird settings. Now, everything is working great ... except a bizarre bug. This killed me on Fallout New Vegas also. I get 80+ framerate on my insanely fast gaming PC (I7, GTX970, 4.0GHz, etc.) even with 2k gfx :) BUT now, suddenly, after all the weird stuff I did, every time I interact with something - a chest, picking fruit off a tree, a vendor, I suddenly drop to 10FPS. And then, if I pick fruit from a different tree, or close the vendor screen and click on t Ok, I have 100+ mods, it's my third play through, and everything was going fairly well until Dawnstar. 4. Update: switching to third person view and twirling around clears the issue, almost instantly and 99.9% of the time!! Yeah. But it happens all the time the issue. Virtually any menu triggers it (cooking, skills, merchants). Any help out there?
  5. I really appreciate the responses. I really appreciate it. I may yet try this, but these fixes look very complicated. I never used ENB before and it looks like it is very easy to screw something up. Also, my research on ENB says a lot of people experience frame rate drops as much as 50% which sounds kinda bad. Is there any simple way to check this stuff out and if I don't like it unistall it? I guess NMM won't be able to just unpack and active the mod, huh? Thanks again.
  6. Ok ... I had an earlier post, but I identified the problem and a partial solution that does not go far enough. Problem: I experience terrible game breaking lag with SKSE - BUT - only randomly. Sometimes, not all the time, when I interact with chests, vendors, or various menu screens (like Skills), all of the sudden the game gets laggy. I don't get this if I start the game through Vanilla or even NMM. And, I did a completely clean uninstall/reinstall with NO OTHER MODS. It is not predictable. It could work well for an hour or for 2 minutes. It does NOT happen when I run, fight, or walk around - only during interactions with game menus. Partial Sollution: Alt-tabbing seems to fix it right away. Unfortunately, I have another issue that when I alt tab back, often the mouse cursor comes back with it, so that i have too cursors on the screen. If anyone knows of a real and permanent solution, I really would appreciate it. Thanks.
  7. located the problem: unfortunately, I am a victim of SKSE Lag. I saw other posts but no solutions. If anyone knows the answer I would appreciate it. Using Vanilla or even Nexus Mod Manager, I get far in excess of 30fps; the game runs very smoothly, even with all kinds of critters and enemies on the screen. I played 400 hours of Skyrim originally, half vanilla, half with NMM (but no SKSE) and everything ran perfectly. Recently, I started a new game, using many more mods and SKSE. When I use SKSE, the game can work well for minutes or even a half hour. However, whenever I interact with anything like a chest, a merchant, or the Wait Screen (like waiting a few hours of game time), sleeping, entering a new play area like a dungeon through a door, conversations, using Mod Configuation Menu, the game has a CHANCE of suddenly becoming permanently terribly laggy. I say "a chance" because sometimes I can interact with a merchant or a chest and everything is fine, and other times, as soon as I exit the screen, the game becomes very laggy. Sometimes existing to Desktop and coming back will clear it and the game runs fine for a little while again, but sometimes I even need to restart my computer. This problem never happens while fighting, switching weapons, or moving around. It only happens during "interactions" like I described above. I spent hours and hours trying to debug this and deactivating mods one at a time, until finally I just tried running SKSE alone and discovered, that's enough to cause the problem. If the problem is going on and I exit and restart only through NMM, it works perfectly, even if turn back on the other mods (except of course for the mods that depend on SKSE). So, the problem is definitely SKSE. I love Skryim and would love to experience it again with these SKSE dependent mods, so any advice is appreciated...
  8. I was running 30 mods or so, then tried troubleshooting it by running on a handful, but I still can't figure this out. While playing, everything this going great, everything is working nicely, and then randomly, when I interact with a merchant, open a chest, or do alchemy, or use the SkyXp Mod to cash in xp points, the FPS will drop to something ridiculous so that the scree stutters. It is totally random. Sometimes, I can open 30 chests, go to 10 merchants, and interact with SkyXp through the SkyUI Mod Config submenu no problem. Then all of the sudden, BOOM. Sometimes, it happens only the first or second time I do it. Drop in FPS makes it unplayable. The realy weird thing is that if I reload, it does NOT fix the problem. If I exit to Desktop and come in again (through SKSE of course) it does NOT fix the problem. HOWEVER, it *seems* to work (at least once or twice) if go through NMM or Steam (NOT using SKSE) - although of course, half the mods won't work without SKSE. If I want to play with SKSE again, it seems I have to restart my machine. This is very weird, I had a similar issue in Fallout New Vegas (w/o mods) I never was able to fix. Any advice would be appreciated. PS Naive question? How do I print out a list of Nexus Mods installed? I Googled it but can't seem to find the answer. I checked in Program Files/NMM, but no list seems to be there... Currently, I have: Skyrim.esm Update.esm Climates of Tamriel.esm Ambiance Music Overall.esm Dawnguard.esm Spike.esm (goes with overhaul guard language esp) cloaks.esp more enemies.esp here there be monsters.esp real wildlife.esp steal skill rebalanced.esp improvedfishBASIC.esp birdsofskryim.esp 3dnpc.esp dark_caves_dungeons_ruins_nights.esp guarddialogueoverhaul.esp oblivioushorses.esp skyui.esp zzzskyxp.esp I had more and then i stripped it down to zzzskyxp.esp and skyui and dark_caves, but the only time i seem to guarantee not getting this issue is when i don't run SKSE, at least so far. Thanks for any advice!!
  9. and I know I keep saying this, but Skyrim: 230+ hours - still impressed that no matter how many dungeons and towns I see, they REALLY went to bat to make everything look individualistic and awe inspiring. Incredible. I mean I thought I explored Windhelm already, but turns out I missed the whole back end harbor. And one of the quests for Solitude where I bumped into a major piece of history with that awesome cavern - wow. They really listened to the criticism of Oblivion sometimes looking a little repetitive in certain areas. BRAVO!
  10. Couldn't resist, needed to post this here - not sure if anyone else did :) (not mine btw, but hilarious) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyyIp3pHVwI&feature=related
  11. I bought it opening night, 12midnight. I played 100 hours - nonstop, at least so it seemed - on Hardcore/Master Difficulty. Then, after 100 hours loaded up some nice challenging mods to make it even more enjoyable. Then 150 hours in I started getting really bored and found it less challenging (mace and shield warrior, very little smithing and enchanting, no exploits). So, I took a break and created a video of Skyrim scenes set to Enter Sandman and posted it on youtube. Then I played for 50 hours. Then I took a 3 month break. Now I'm back and again I can't stop. WOW. I thought it lost all challenge and got boring but it somehow picked up again. First, the landscape continues to be stunning; the developers clearly took to heart prior criticism that the dungeons started looking a bit too similar - I continue to be absolutely astonished at the difference and breath taking character of BOTH above and below ground environments. It's jaw dropping. I may print out a few screen shots and frame them on my walls! Second, random story plots or things I stumble on continue to intrigue and surprise me. I won't post a spoiler but I found out something cool/sinister about the Forsworn just by ambling around the top of a mountain accidentally. Truly amazing stuff. I should check out recent mods...
  12. Thanks for the feedback. I'm on Master and Hardcore. I would like Shield Charge to work it's just way overpowered, but yeah, I'm surprised no one modded it yet. Ok, thanks again!
  13. I don't think it costs any stamina. I just shield charged 5 bandit types non-stop for almost 30 seconds. The only thing that cost any stamina (and a lot of it) were the power attacks I followed up with. As long as I had a sliver of stamina left, I could shield charge and knock everyone down. I totally massacred them. Very unbalanced.
