Hello all. First post here and trying to get into modding. So I do see the pinned posts but they are pretty old (2011) and the links don't work either. What i'm looking for is if anyone knows a fairly current guide on how to get started modding. Like really from the beginning though. Yesterday i took my first step towards modding and had some success. But the end result didn't work out great. I really am not sure how to use LOOT or TES4Edit or if these are even good ways of doing things anymore. Basically this is what I followed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDYpjQBQHGA I don't expect anyone to watch all his videos but this guy has quite a few videos that are very helpful and this is actually fairly current but still not current enough as some of the links he has aren't the same anymore. For instance For the Unofficial Patch, Shivisles and DLC Patch's he uses the EXE DL's. But they don't seem to be on Nexus anymore so I DL'D the Manual and just activated them in OBMM. LOL idk if that makes sense but I didn't know what else to do. So then I did have some success. I did get "Keychain", "Character Creation Overhaul" and "DaNifIed UI" to work. Then I tried going with Qarl, Window lighting and some others and I was really getting nowhere. I didn't kill the game but I just don't know what i'm doing. I'm not computer illiterate either. But from the video's i'm watching from this guy Xuul, while he's been very helpful I think he leave's some things out. I really have no idea how to use LOOT or TES4Edit. After I activate in OBMM then what do I do?
