Yeah I havent had the time to go compare everything with pictures due to some crashing issues but I figure that is what I would have to do to truly compare them. I haven't ran into Edward Deegan yet, or Tommy Lonegan, and I haven't really looked at Kent too much. Thanks for all the input!

@tonomi1922 I apologize for this being so late, I've been busy. And that is a valid point, I simply wanted to simply say that it is most likely the reason why this topic stood out for me and because of it is why I made this post. Logically there should still be differences there, realistically, it would take time to make differences in the face like that, and time is the worst enemy of game devs it seems haha And very true, I wasn't trying to say "Something should be done about it, right now!" I just wanted to know if other people noticed and did it bother them like it does me. All the more reason I cant wait for the creation kit!

@tomomi1922 I'm already well aware, the differences in facial structures is something I've been self-studying for like 5 years or so because of art. If I wasn't aware I wouldn't have asked others if they noticed it too. And while I understood the intent behind the second "story from japan" it could have been left out and this discussion would have progressed just fine. I was merely making a connection from real life to the fact that in-game there is minuscule differences if any at all in the way npc ghoul faces are put together, unlike for example, the nameless npc settlers. And these graphics are still not real life so the theory isn't super applicable to this situation.

I'm sure. Let me put it this way, say you take the skull no skin or muscle of two different people, both of the skulls should look different, still human but different. They do not look exactly the same. Facial reconstruction on those skulls will yield two distinctly different faces. The same should be said of ghouls in game, as it is it seems like all ghouls share the same exact skull which is theoretically impossible unless they are all twins but with the entire population... Perhaps I should take screencaps to more distinctly illustrate my point haha

His outfits. Nono, skin is more like, ummm. Let me try. In Beth games. Animals and creatures share a skin. Let call it looks. That they share among all the other of the same race. So all crabs looks the same, bears, bugs etc. Expect when talking about the different ones like glowing ones and whatnot. That looks doesn't change, you can't change the eyes, nose size, colors. They are all set. That why all feral ghouls look the same. They are a "creature." to the game, not npcs. For NPCs, they can make use of everything the player has. But ghouls have a limited set of options so it seems. They don't have much hair after all, no need for nose size, hair styles, skin color blah blah etc etc. I understand that, I'm not talking about Ferals or other creatures and that they should all be different. I'm just talking about all friendly NPC ghouls, including Hancock. I'm lamenting the fact that non-feral ghouls have no variation in face type at all. I think that they should have more differentiation in that they should have more skin colors, different complexions, different face structures over all. Getting in to how faces are put together in real life, it makes no sense that they would all look the same. They may not need a conventional "nose size" that non-irradiated people have but the nose is still placed a little differently than others; the cheek bones and jaw definitely wouldn't have formed the same way. There is no evidence I've come across that says ghoulification changes the underlying bone structure they had before they were ghouls and as such, they should look as different as other wastelanders, ghoul or not. That and the way their skin becomes scarred all over, it is very unlikely that the same ruts and ridges would form at exactly the same spots on other ghouls. Specifically what bothers me about it is that they would let a companion look the same as a generic "settler". I'm sorry that wasn't clear in the first post, it was a question I thought of right before bed

I'm not sure what you're talking about? and They are. Creatures (not human npc.) have only one "skin." thus looks. I misread this the first time but it also seems to be that all NPC non feral ghouls have the same skin textures as well...

Hm. It just seems weird because the face structure shouldn't change if someone became a ghoul. I figured that for Hancock at least they'd make his face more unique compared to other ghouls since he is a companion.

I've noticed that all of the ghouls (mainly male) I've encountered seem like they have the same face structure/settings, even Hancock. Though I haven't had time to take screenshots to compare them, I was wondering if anyone felt the same way or if I'm just not looking at them hard enough

If anything, I'd like there to be a DLC akin to Citadel for Mass Effect 3. Lots of companion + romance interaction with many amusing moments. Its quite a bit to hope for from Bethesda, considering what they put out for Skyrim. However, they did add a new zone with Dragonborn so I think whatever they do it would most likely be something similar to that with a new zone to visit and possibly a new settlement.
