  1. What is there that I can do to optimize the foliage in Skyrim? I am using a GTX 1660, yet I still get terrible performance when surrounded by foliage. It seems the Creation Engine isn't very well optimized for foliage rendering. But is there any mod that aims to fix it? Maybe lower poly-counts or reduced density. Really, anything at all. I don't want to have to completely disable/remove the foliage entirely as that would leave the game looking too barren.
  2. To be honest, the nag screen every time we go to download something is tacky. That and the whole countdown before it lets you download is stupid. Seriously, premium should just be a luxury extra not a "stop annoying me" payment.
  3. I always use MO for handling my mods. I finally found out what was causing it: apparently it was ECE. I have had it for a while, but never really used it all that much, so I went ahead and got rid of it since the few extra sliders aren't worth having this glitch.
  4. I also just now noticed, this is also happening with khajiit as well.
  5. I manually installed both, the textures and cbbe, and can confirm they are in their correct places. This issue only started today upon creating my new character. I have seen nude argonians in my game before with these same body and texture mods and they looked correct. But now they don't look right. I don't have any mods that change anything pertaining to races (no custom races nor changes to vanilla races) and I don't have any mods that change how bodies are displayed in game (other than cbbe and the aforementioned textures of course). I even have Skyrim on my laptop (that I haven't played on in about a year) with the same mods and it looks fine on there.
  6. For some reason, all female Argonians in my game (my own character included) have invisible bodies and feet. But the head and hands work just fine. However, the body shows up only if I have clothes on (vanilla or cbbe clothing doesn't matter). I know cbbe is installed correctly (I have had it since it came out). And even after updates to cbbe, it still worked fine. But suddenly, on my new character (who is Argonian) it just stopped working right. The only custom Argonian texture I have is the Lizard version of the Argonian texture mod by MONSTERaider. What is causing this?
  7. Turns out, adding mp3 versions of the regular radio music files (stereo versions) worked. But it only seemed to work if they were mp3 as opposed to the normal ogg. All I was doing was dropping my edited music files into the "Data\Sound\songs\radionv" folder. Afterward, when removing them, I just deleted my edited files (as I said the folder was empty. Meaning there were no sound files in there initially until I added mine, unlike what I read about the stereo files being loose).
  8. The problem is: the music still worked with my custom file. It only stopped AFTER I removed it. I have already tried a clean install, but it still persists. Also, I haven't had an update for my drivers in about a month, so nothing about my drivers changed in between the music working and not working. I am starting to think the issue has something to do with the launcher changing a ini value that it should have left alone. As I tried to make a clean install with no mods and no edits to any config files. All I did after reinstalling is launch the game with the default settings the launcher chooses. I also tried changing the config files after seeing no change in the music issue, but it still persists. I am all out of ideas at this point. Although, somewhere, I heard that the game stores the pipboy (stereo) versions of the radio music outside of the bsa files. But I see no such thing in the loose files of the game. It was never like that to begin with, even when the music worked (as I have played this game since release with no problems). But when looking in the bsa, I find no stereo versions of the music. Only the mono versions (identified by the "_mono" at the end of the file name). However, that still shouldn't affect radio stations added through mods right?
  9. Like I said, this issue arose with no radio mods installed. I just installed "Westside radio" to test and it didn't work either. I uninstalled it afterwards. I also tried removing the sound files I changed to no avail. I have modified music in this game before with no issue (I already strip all meta data from sound files that I work with in my sound editing tools). I have made mods before for both Fallout and Elder Scrolls games, so I am not new to the hoops you have to jump through when modding these games.
  10. Apparently it even broke radio station mods. I just downloaded the mod "Westside Radio" and it doesn't play either.
  11. I don't have much info about it. All I know is what I already posted. And that article doesn't really help in this situation. I am not even using the geck to make mods (I only ever just replaced one sound file. nothing that the geck would be required for) and it still doesn't give me much insight into why my radio is bugged only on music playing stations and only on my pipboy. My computer is the same as what I listed on my profile. It runs Windows 8.1 and it is up to date (drivers are as well). The only mods I have installed are mostly weapon and armor mods, so nothing that would mess with the radio. I have all dlc, including the Courier's Stash. Hopefully this info will help.
  12. For some reason ALL radio stations are absolutely silent except for the dlc ones (only the mysterious broadcast seems to be affected). I have tried everything I could think of, but they are always silent. It happened after I decided to change one of the songs on the radio by just replacing the .ogg file with a song of my own. I have done this before with no issue, so why now? Also, they are only that way on my pipboy, not the radio in my bunker (I use the survivalist bunker house mod).
  13. There is a new game project I have recently started and I need help with. It is a shared-world fps game called Brimstone. It came about from my dissapointment with Destiny. I wanted a shared world futuristic fps game, and I thought it would be the one. However we all know how that went. So I set out with a project in mind that could beat Destiny where it failed: content and story. If I plan on getting this done, I will need a team to help out. If anybody would like to help, remember I am just starting out my studio. I don't really have the money to pay a professional team. So that is why I am asking here on the nexus forums. Us modders make all kinds of cool content without asking for much more than for our fans to enjoy it. Positions I have open are: Modeler Texture artist Level designer Voice actors Music/Sound designer Scripter/Programmer I currently do a little bit of everything but mostly work on concepts and ui design. The game engine being used is Unreal Engine 3. Tell me if you are interested in working on this project.
  14. Every time I export a new vegas model, the textures either don't show up, or are not uv mapped correctly. Mind you, im talking about vanilla models and textures. Each time I export a model (either obj or dae) the textures do not show up correctly in my model viewer. I have tried using multiple different viewers (noesis, blender, sketchup) and none of them made a difference. I believe it may be the uv maps corrupting upon export. I will attatch screenshots of what I am talking about.
  15. no, I'm using vista home edition sp2 btw, I am trying to open xbox 360 oblivion nif files. but they seem to be the same
  16. well, I hope someone can figure it out as it is really pissing me off :(
  17. yes, the version I am using is 1.1.3 rev 36ebfdd
  18. For some reason, when I open oblivion's nif files, Nifskope will crash as soon as it finishes loading the mesh. I have already tried just about everything possible and am running out of ideas. Please help!
  19. I do a good mix of things. shield is used against magic (like ward from skyrim). fortify armor (fort. light armor when using light armor ect...) fortify health is used to raise your max hp. like I said, a mix of the three should suffice :)
  20. you should google the uesp wiki. look on there for info on the lore, ideas, mythology ect... and base your character off of that. decide what he/she knows, doesn't know, specializes in, ect... and most of all, have fun on your (and your character's) adventure :)
  21. like what ritchie said. often shadows and other 2d graphics effects could be skewed by a simple coding bug. I have had textures pixelate somewhat like that but not so severe, and not shadows either.
  22. you might need to lower shadow resolution OR adjust the shadow quarter because it seems the light mapping is kinda off. I maybe wrong, but those are my educated guesses. I have been working with game development for a few years and I NEVER seen that happen with anything.
  23. I am making a mod collection for morrowind "officially" called "maddgod's mod mayhem" in which I will have a ton of mod ideas put into one mod. anyone who can do scripting/programming and some modeling/texturing could really be helpful as it will be too difficult do do this alone. we will be doing some fairly advanced lighting/graphical effects (part of the mod will turn vivec into rave city) as well as scripting so anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated :) thanks, maddgod
  24. Can someone please make a mod for morrowind that adds in amnesia things? (the game amnesia btw) I want things like a special lantern that looks like the one from amnesia, also make the lantern re-useable by making it take some kind of lantern oil. (like in the game) also add in the grunt things as a new monster :) if there is anything else you can think of to add in, then please do. btw, I also would like some cool places to explore amnesia style :D
