  1. If turning off UAC is bad, then why should I use a new install directory? That is, if the mods will go into my gaming folder within Steam, then why bother?
  2. How do I turn UAC off? And, so, I can just DL the mods/maps into the (insert game here) folder within Steam? My Steam folder doesn't have my username in it, it just says "common," and it leads into my games. Is that normal? So incredibly sorry if I'm being a dip****.
  3. Thanks much to those who have replied. Two things, then: How do I install my games outside of the default directory? I have games waiting to install, and I'd like to know how to put them in a separate folder. Also, I've just DLed L4D2, and it's in the default directory. Is there a way to get put it in another place, or should I just copy and paste the folder? I ask because I also want to DL user created maps for it. I know it's not about Oblivion, sorry about that. It's just that I'm mostly new to PC Games. My old system couldn't handle anything worthwhile. Second, the script extender comes with the game, right? Anything I specifically need to do with that?
  4. I've just built a brand new computer, and one of the reasons I built it is because I want mods for my games, especially for Oblivion. I've been a huge fan since it came out, and only now am I going to experience it on the PC. Truth be told, I'm excited, but, also a bit weary. I have Steam, and have already gotten several games through it. I was wondering, however, can I still DL and install mods from Nexus while playing the game through Steam? If so, how? If not, should I just purchase the Disc version of the GOTY edition?
