Well, it is quite funny to join the Imperial after I just kill the emperor and dress like him. General Tullius should be like "WTF..." o_O

Empire is incompetent. How the hell empire lost the great war at first place, when hammerfell was able to drive out the Aldmeri Dominion as a independent state after the great war. (Yes, Skyrim is not the first state want to be independent) Just how corruptive the empire become! Stormcloacks at least fight for what they believe. They are no more racism than any other race in this game. And for people believe united empire might have better chance against Aldmeri Dominion, well that is not the case here, since empire is the pig, it eat your food and do nothing.

In skyrim, every guard was once a adventurer, then... you know the rest.

The Empire is already going to chaos. The Emperor told you that a lot people want him dead right before you kill him. After he dead, all the provinces will seek for indenpendence. It make little sense to actually help the Imperial, since they don't even have power to unify the skyrim needless to say the whole Tamriel. And what if Imperial general find out you kill the emperor at first place? I am pretty sure they will execute you or at least thrown you into jail. On the other hand, Ulfric will probably just say: "Good riddance."
