  1. First off I love the fact that you guys are this dedicated to modding Xcom. Second I want to help you guys try to solve this but I have no real how to start. I have basic programming skills but not to much experience outside of the class, is there anything I could do to help even if it means sifting through individual lines of code to find anything in particular?
  2. Where ya been the past couple days? We solved that one. :D Just got here.
  3. So I am guessing I should start reading up on tutorials for the UPK Unreal kit than. Also if I may say, Daemonjax you may be one of the greatest poets I have seen on the internet in a while.
  4. Reading through other posts I am getting the sense that a fair amount of people here have some sort of formal experience or training. I really do appreciate the offer for help and for now I figure just reading to get a sense on what you guys are trying to do. I know Ashryu said that you need to find a way to get the game to load modified .upk files but since I don't really know where to start with that I will try looking around the web for info and try to make myself useful...or at least pretend to and let you guys do the heavy lifting.
  5. I love the way people can group together like this and I want to help. The only problem is that I have very little experience with modding (changing stats on gear in New Vegas) and only a bit of programming in C++. That being said I was wondering what I could do to help even if it was reading through code to find something another modder is looking for or simple trial and error work to find another piece that others can work with. So if anyone could help me learn to mod or even say where you learned it form could you please comment below. If you simply need another person to read over text documents please let me know because I would love to help out.
  6. Woot got a few of them to work. I'll need to keep a close eye on where the files go but it works now. Thanks for the help guys
  7. I have not tried running one at a time to see. I have not looked directly to see if the textures are in the right place, I assumed unzipping the files into their own folders in the Data directory would do it automatically so I will need to check that then. Also should I be running FNVedit and FOMM at the same time?
  8. I realise that there have probably been more topics made on this one subject than anything else but after fighting with my game to run the mods I want I have finally broken down and just decided to come to the forums for help. Basically I have been trying to get mods (mostly armour and guns) to load properly into the Fallout New Vegas (Steam) with mixed results. Some mods like Spas-12 mod (1) installed perfectly and I have no trouble with them while others like the scarves (2) will add the box into the world but when I equip the item onto my character I just get a large red box with an exclamation mark in it. Any help that I can get on this would be wonderful. Here is the current method that I use to download and install mods. Step 1. Install to my Downloads folder in my C drive Step 2. Unzip the downloaded file and send the unzipped files to Steam>steamapps>common>fallout new vegas>data folder Step 3. Open Fallout Mod Manager and make sure that the mod is checked off in both the mod manager and that it is checked off in the data file page. Like I said before any help will be really appreciated and thanks again for taking the time to read and help. 1 http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35974 2 http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35597
