  1. @alonsomartinez - One specific creature I'm hoping for is a Cerberus or Hydra type mob but most just something new to add instead of just whats in the CS. I was wondering if theres anything out there before I make a serious request to see if anyone would be up to model and script a new mob specially since I imagine its one of the harder/time consuming things to do. And also to possible help someone promote what they've accomplished. @scrivener07 - The link showed up nothing. So not sure what you were tryn to point out.
  2. I was wondering if there is a list of mods of custom creatures that people of created? Or does anyone know of any good custom creatures that the creators wouldnt mind me using in a mod? (credited of course)
  3. Awesome! thanks ill have to try that out.
  4. Is there a way to mod the way loot is dropped from monsters/npcs in game other than just putting different items in the drop pool in the CS. For instance like how most newer rpgs have it where there is a % chance that said item/s will drop so that you might have to come back and fight said monster/npc multiple times to obtain the item that you want. Is that even possible in Oblivion? I find the %chance to be more fun of an experience than fighting once and getting all the drops in 1 kill.
  5. Yes the snap-to-grid function works great when I'm first designing/building but the problem I have is I cut&pasted an entrance of a cave from a pre-made cave in the CS. So when I did that and pasted it into the new cell its no longer at 0,0,0 and I cant figure out either how to move it to 0,0,0 or paste it at 0,0,0 to begin with. But if there's no easy way of moving things then I'll just stick with what I'm doing. thanks for the help though.
  6. @wetblanket - thats exactly what I am doing. im copying a whole room from one place to another. the trouble im having is finding an easy way of lining the room I just pasted in line with its new surroundings. atm i'm having to either try and select the whole room ( including all the content inside the room) and drag it with the mouse, which is not that very precise and hard to get things just right. Or move every object individually by either dragging and/or editing its XYZ coordances (which is the easiest), but you cant do that with multiple object selected at one time. I'm trying to find out if there is a way to move multiple objects at once with accuracy that is greater than dragging it with the mouse?
  7. Im just having some difficulty getting thing to line up smoothly so I was thinking if I could at least get the Z coordinance the same by editing then I would make it that much easier to drag Xand Y. Bit of a perfectionist here so I like all my pieces to line up smooth and as clean as possible so was wondering if there was a faster way and thought that would be a fast way of doing things.
  8. Ya thats what I've been doing. What I was trying to figure out was if there was a way to change the coordinances of a group of items all at once. Like how you can go to the properties of a single item and change the X,Y, or Z coordance to place it in an exact location but with a whole group of items.
  9. @ub3rman123 - Thanks for the tips. Can't believe I passed right over those...must have been one of the later nights. anyways thanks Is there anyway to get a room that you have all decked out in one house and import it into another house besides cut and paste? I tried that and it's really hard to get everything lined back up in the new house especially since you cant edit the XYZ coordinance of multiple objects at once. (At least I havent found a way too) For example make the room into a block and import it in and position it then explode the block so I can then continue editing like you can in AutoCAD.
  10. Got a new question: How would I go about making an enormously large room in a cave? Both in floor area and in height. I tried just blowing up some already made caves in the CS by just quadrupling the size but then the textures start looking really fuzzy and just odd looking. Any suggestions? Oh one other question: Where are all the different cave parts located? I've found a couple by looking at existing caves and seeing which parts work well with what I'm trying to do but some just don't fit quit right. Is there a folder that they are all located at or a specific tag or word that I can just search for? Because going through every single cave in the game to try and find a piece that will work is just not going to work out. I dont have that much free time on my hands.
  11. @chaospearl - Ya i definitely dont want to reinvent the wheel lol guess I was really getting ahead of myself. I guess i'm jumping to conclusions about me having to build everything from scratch and not searching the deep depths of the libraries in the CS. Thanks again for the advise I will dive into all the info you all have given me and see where I'm at in while. Oh and I am very interested in learning how to start modding but I should probably start here first. Thanks again.
  12. I like having all my ducks in a row before i start something but i guess im getting a little ahead of myself. thanks for the advise everyone.
  13. @chaospearl - Ya that probably was a bit confusing. Let me try to explain it differently. 1.) Lets say I have an idea for a dungeon that is also a maze and its design is in a circular shape. There is no design that is currently anywhere in the game that I could pull from to create this circular maze. SO I'm wanting to find out how I can make those circular shaped walls so i can create this maze. I also don't know if that requires other programs or not since I'm new to all this modding business. 2.) Then once I figure that out then this is where I am open to bringing in other pre-designed elements that I like to texture those walls that I created OR if I can't find a texture to suite my needs I would like to learn how to create textures. (this probably is a separate tutorial for an outside program) 3.) In regards to the two likes. I have read both of those tutorials from start to finish. Yes both of them are extremely helpful and I will be referring to them often as I learn how to mod BUT both of those tutorials dont not create anything from scratch they borrow multiple pre-designed elements and combine them together to create a unique dungeon that is "new" but not brand spanking new if you know what I mean lol @Lanceor - Thanks for the link when I get off work I'll read through those.
  14. Thanks for the links. when i have some time ill look them over.
  15. Im going to try my hand at making a dungeon from scratch (for now). obviously I want to take the easiest road possible since im still new at this. Im not opposed to to using textures, meshes, etc through the CS but what i dont want to do is use "CaveABC" as my new dungeon and just plop it somewhere in game. I want to learn how to make my own layout, walls, wall textures(which can be from the CS), weapons, items, ect. Ive read every page on the wiki and its helpful to an extent. oh and thanks for the list of programs
