Any mod that alters the ui or hud will crash the game and needs to be disabled if you still get a crash to desktop you will have to uninstall all mods and manually reinstall each one till you find the culprits most mods that just change the appearance should be fine such as clothing and texture mods

If your game keeps crashing try disabling My HUD mod this seems to be the culprit

You do have to talk to god to get the food quest or get him to do the switches, just use the voice recording you pick up in the police station.
