When ever I don't use HDR lighting + OBSE v20 the Main Menu won't show up? When I don't use HDR lighting without OBSE it does work. Of course I need OBSE to run many of the more important mods I have. I am running that game installed via hard copy. My internet is so slow. I didn't want to wait for steam download. Any suggestions short of having to download from steam? AMD Athlon II X3 440 @ 3.00GHz BFG nVidia GeForce 8800 GT OC Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 I dont know how to list all the mods. I have so many. Is there a way to make Wrye Bash list all the mods so I can copy and paste? If anyone has any answers to this please tell me. If you need more details, just ask. I will be here. thanks for the help guys. EDIT: I want to use anti-alising, but i cant with HDR lighting but only HDR lighting works for Main Menu to show up. I keep all of my system drivers up to date, and games too.

There are many great mods out there that get lots of well earned praise, but then there are those mods that are really great but go under the radar. I want to bring those mods to light. I will start off my listing one mod. You tell me at least one you have in mind, I will edit the main post and include it if I think it's a must have that is not very famous. First off: Tweaks and Enhancements. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26689 This mod is really great and does what the name says. Installation is easy via .omod. Give it a try.

Wow great replies. Thanks for to everyone who posted. Anyone else?

FCOM-- I want to make it into a single .omod or Archive
Bongu replied to Bongu's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
ok guys thanks for your input. i have been told why it is "impractical" by many people. i do not see why. you will be able too fully update it with whatever packages are released and all that. If the FCOM team doesnt want to take action for their own mod, then thats on them. people need t stop making themselves so exclusive. its modding, its suppose to be available for everyone. people keep telling me its a shame that i will not be able to release this. but oh well. installation is confusing and many people who want to use wont be able to. help fron outsiders? pff, since when is a community full of outsiders? anyway. I will keep this to myself. regardless, i think it should be packaged in a way that you can update it, just like i have :wallbash: -
I need to know what the Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM) colors mean. I know there is a read me or something i can read, but I want to make this list for the people who want to know by using google or a search engine. I tried to make the title as general as possible. Ok here is the list. I do not know them all. if you do, post with a better explanation and more accurately if you know. I will only post what I think it means, please correct me if I am wrong. Also, list any missing colors and what they mean. Green - OMOD is ready to install and has no reported conflicts, and will not overwrite any files during installation. Blue- OMOD is installed. Red- OMOD is not installed and conflicts/possible overwrites have been reported Black - OMOD has not been installed and a total overwrite will be made of the files inside that OMOD is they are already installed. (Most common when reinstalling the same mod) Orange- not known any other colors i am missing, list them with an explanation. thanks. EDIT: also, i made this thread because of someone asking in the chatroom. so its not just to help me, sorry if i sound demanding :P

How do I make my oblivion read .bsa files?
Bongu replied to Bongu's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
my game is intalled to the default dvd installation directory. it was on steam, but i am doing a lot of testing, so i decided to just use my dvd for this. C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion is there another program to create .bsa or is OBMM the best one? the game just isnt reading the data from the .bsa -

How do I make my oblivion read .bsa files?
Bongu replied to Bongu's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
specifically, i want to pack the files in Martigens Monster Mod, WarCry, and Oscuros oblivion Overhaul into their own .bsa. I just dont like the clutter and the risk of overwritting something, then if i want to delete it, it taking what it overwrote along with it. -

Bongu replied to Bongu's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
when i tired doing that for Crossbows of Cyrodill, it didnt work. i will give it a shot though and tell you if it worked -
Hi, I have this problem. Whenever I make a mod's files into a .bsa the plugin cant seem to find it. I named it the ame name as the .esp or .esm, but that doesnt work. Is there a way i can force these plugin to read from the .bsa? I will list methods I tried that didnt work for anyone having the same issue. 1. listing the .bsa in the .bsa loading list in the oblivion.ini file 2. puting the texture, meshes, ect. folders into a folder named 'data' and paking the created data folder into the .bsa 3. naming the .bsa the same name as the .esp or .esm what are other things i can try?

FCOM-- I want to make it into a single .omod or Archive
Bongu replied to Bongu's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
actually, everything will be placed as if you installed it individually. OBMM will be fine, it will just be a lengthy extraction. everything will be fine. you can modify it and everything. it wont be like intalling just one single .esp, .bsa or .esm. they are all separate and fully modable. it will just install FCOM for you instead of you having to do it all yourself. using archiveinvalidation invalidated! will also make patching very easy and simple. -
FCOM-- I want to make it into a single .omod or Archive
Bongu replied to Bongu's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
yes i know. i will not be making a script. The files will be handled by you manually. I do not know how to script but the files will be put right. If i were to be allowed to upload this, I will also included the extra plugins for the FCOM overhauls. in a separate folder. -
EDIT: corrected a few words In short, I want to make FCOM into a single omod or archive that you can just extract and install. Here is the longer version. FCOM is famous for being arguably the best combination of mods there is for Oblivion, and is infamous for being a huge pain to install. It seems like only the more experienced moders can do it. I want to change that and offer it in a single .omod and/or archive. Of course .omod's are archives and OBMM can be used to extract them. FCOM is a very attractive mod and I would like to make it so everyone can have the basic installation of it. All the files will still be there individually, Of course there is always you nay sayers and I would like to hear your opinions too. For those of you who dont know everything FCOM has (By the name) FCOM is ((F))rancescos Leveled Creatures Items Mod + Full add-ons. Oblivion War(©)ry ((O))scuros Oblivion Overhaul ((M))artigens Monster Mod FCOM: Convergence doesnt contain these files. it contains the files needed so they can work together and keep balance in the game, or just to work together period. I think it would not be possible to get permission from all the authors of FCOM since it seems they are no longer supporting the mod. No new updates, patches, or any of that has been released in quite a while. Also, there are many authors that contributed to the making of each of the mods listed. I see how making this available for download would be against the rules, and I also see how this can create some controversy. That's why I am very hesitant to even speak about this, but do it regardless. To me, this is a community and we all share our mods. But also, I would not like my mods getting stolen and used in other things without my permission. However, when FCOM was created, it was created to be used by everyone to enhance the experience of Oblivion, especially for the older players. With my idea, I do not intend to change or modify anything, but simply put them together and make it available for download. Now, before you say. "yeah, there are guides to help you install it". There has been many people coming in and out of the forums, chat, asking how do they install FCOM. Those guides arent helpful unless you already have plenty of exp modding and they are pretty sloppy imho. The guides didn't help me much. I had to fresh install about 5-6 times before I got it running. Say what you want, but thats how it goes for some. If you are looking at this, and saying that the people who can't install it are stupid, you are wrong. The people who can't install it should take the time to learn, they will likely fail (I've seen it many times). Or that the people who can't get it installed should just not use it. Well, whats the point if you cant use it. I was wondering. Is there anyway I can make it available for download here at the nexus. Is there any way the this can be an exception to the rule? If not, I will just keep it to myself. I understand why it would not be allowed, and I respect it. I am just pleading a case, to see If i can upload this very helpful project of mine. Thanks for reading.

Please take part in being this great contribution towards the community. There are many mods out there, but this list is based on mods that make your life on oblivion, not easier, but less annoying. This list is for practical mods that you think every player must have. If I or you think, and/or others agree (please say you agree with someone if you like their post) that a a mod should be included in this threads main post, I will add the mod you suggested to this part of the thread. I will start it off. Of course i do not know every mod in this, or other oblivion mods hosting websites but take part in this and post what you think would be a great addition. Some of these mods may require OBSE or some other plugin for OBSE, so look at this thread. Essential OBSE Plugins Here we go: - Keychain - Hides your keys into one single key for easy management. No longer do you have to remove any keys ever again. Toggle available. or -Automagic Bags - Hide more than your keys in separate bags. - Fast Travel From Interior Cells - Cleared that dungeon and don't feel like walking all the way back through it? This can help. - Decorator Assistant - The Z key is terrible for trying to decorate your home, it simply fails. This will let you place any items and lock them in place so you can also place other items around it safely. Must have for me. - Dude Wheres My Horse - Did you lose Shadowmere again? Need help finding any of your mounts? Well, here you go! - Quickstart - Start a new game without having to go through the whole intro dungeon. Skip to the end of the sewer! - At Home Alchemy - This nifty little mod allows you to use alchemical equipment without having to carry it around with you. This is the fixed version. - Real Days and Months - This might or might not be practical for everyone. But I though I would include it for those of us who aren't Oblivion lore experts. - Shady Sam Enhanced Fence - Is the Thiefs guild the only ones who buy stolen goods? REALLY? NO ONE else? I doubt it. This makes it so the guy who you think would buy stolen goods, buys stolen goods. No Thiefs Guild required. - Streamline - This will help with smoothing out your FPS if you have a low end system or are getting annoying stutter. It may even increase FPS while making the transition smoother. Enjoy. - 100% Harvest Chance - How do you fail to pick a flower you are just going to grind down anyway? Not a cheat, this makes total sense. - added by Volbia. - Spell Deletion - -Every Mage should have this. We all know you might not be using that crappy fireball spell later on. - added by Volbia - Bedrolls and Tents Anyone? - Adds portable bedrolls and tents to the game. Can be bought from merchants. added by - Volbia - DarNified UI - I have been using this for a long time. It is amazing. I still think about how amazing it is when i look at it. added by vvk78 - Display Stats - Displays hidden stats of items in your inventory.added by vvk78 - Teleport Everywhere - Lets you teleport from anywhere in any situation. DO NOT TELEPORT DURING A QUEST MISSION AREA. IT WILL BREAK THE QUEST/GAME.added by vvk78 - Chase Camera Mod - Fixes the jerky camera movements in vanilla oblivion.added by vvk78 - Denock Arrows - lets you cancel and arrow shot.added by vvk78 - Eagle Eye Realistic Archery - This mod changes some parameters which makes archery more realistic and effective.added by vvk78 - Misc Tracker - tracks your fame/infamy/bounty and gives handy messages about their status changes. added by vvk78 - Advanced Mark and Recall - Mark locations and come back to them later.added by vvk78 - Weapon Charge Spell - Lets you charge your weapons using your magicka. Now, you can add your favorite practical mods to the list. Please do so, your contribution is greatly appreciated. I will add your name in the small description for each mod you list
