  1. My biggest problem with Blender is the fact you loose the UV map from models imported via that method. Trying to UV map it back to the original texture really hasn't worked for me and I can't find a method of transplanting the UV maps back into the Model once you export it as a Nif again. Is there some way of preserving the UV map for Nifs imported from unsupported versions, or placing it back onto the model in blender or once it has been exported back into Nif format?
  2. I assume you mean Autodesk 3D Studio MAX, because "Adobe Max" just returns something about a creative conference when entered into Google. Its only a 30-Day FREE* Trial though so it doesn't help me, since I'd assume it has some feature to stop you abusing the "free trial" indefinitely. Why do these people insist on subscription software too? I'd buy it if I could get it for a one-time purchase or on disk.
  3. I've been using Blender for making mods, but the NIF plugin doesn't support Skyrim's format. So, it is a pain in the butt to get things out of the game nevermind back in. So, is there are newer version of the Plugin for Blender I've missed somewhere or another free program with NIF-support that I could use? After becoming quite competent in modding armours for Fallout 3 I've been thinking of making an armour for my Skyrim character, but the variance in the NIF version between programs is making life extremely difficult for me. Surely there is an easier way? Thanks.
  4. Nevermind, I seem to have found a solution. Apparently there were several vertex groups assigned to bones that were not apart of the actual skeleton, hence Blender read them as unweighted despite the fact they were. Reassigning them to the correct bones seems to have fixed the issue, or at least enough to let me export it.
  5. Hello peoples, sorry if this is the wrong place or something for this... I'm new to the forum and I'm really really lost because it is massive... anyway, my problem... I've been trying to create a custom armour for Fallout: New Vegas by cobbling together pre-existing models from the game. All was going quite swell until I ended up trying to export it. I've been following the tutorial on the Nexus Forums for creating an armour in Fallout: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Fallout_Part_1 http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Fallout_Part_2 So, when I try to export it, I get an error message stating the mesh contains unweighted vertices and It selects the offending vertices for ease of recognition. However, from what I can see they are indeed weighted and re-weighting them doesn't fix the problem. I spent a couple of hours jiggling around with different things trying to get it to stick, but no such hope. I googled this, but didn't come up with anything useful. So, help, please... I'm kinda desperate to get my project finished... any help would be nice... Thanks in advance.
