I plan on running 3 monitors with my games. =)
-
One minor thing I have noticed with MO is when I had an install fail. It re-organized my install list and screwed up a lot of things that I had to manually replace for correct overwrites. Is there no way to save your overwrite list to prevent this from happening in the future?

The GTX 680s are also 150 dollars more each card. Dropping 1 grand on video cards would of not been ideal, and doubling my performance over 1 card with 1gb more ram didn't make sense to me. 3gb should be more than adequate for my needs, and if it is not, then I can cut my losses and just get to the game and enjoy it.

When standing outside with just the mods I have installed now, I cap out at 1530. I should already be CTDing now. Now add on the rest of my previous load order? No wonder I was CTDing all the time. I am not going to get carried away, and blame all my past issues on Vram, as there was more than likely alot of compatibilities that were conflicting. But I bet my Vram was behind alot of issues. If I am capping out now, without half of my previous mods, you better believe it's no wonder I was CTDing constantly. I ordered 2 7970s with 3gb Vram, using 2 cards doesn't double the Vram sadly. So I will have 3gbs to work with. These mods like Wet & Cold, footprints, SkyTest all add onto your Vram. Some of them, substantially. Why didn't I think of this before. If I tried to stretch Skyrim across 3 screens with a massive screen resolution, and have it heavily modded, I would need 6gb cards I assume, and that isn't going to happen. I wonder why it eats so much Vram. I can play all the top games without it capping. This is the first I have ever experienced this. Also Ripple, I might have already hidden a bunch of mods and not deleted them from disk already. Do I need to restart, and not delete them? Or move forward?

Without even my other mods installed. Just my texture mods, and my apachii mods. Without even installing body textures, eyes or faces I am capping out at 1250 Vram.
-
Ohh my god Ripple. I just realized something. I was running alot of mods that -should- of worked together. With a TON of texture mods. This video card only has 1.5 MB of Vram, and I never checked to see if it was the culprit. My game was crashing when trying to walk outside from inside, or vice versa. I wonder if the culprit all this time has been my Vram and overloading it. I will seriously kick myself if this is the reasoning behind it.

Thanks for the response Ripple. I am just trucking away, doing section by section. Atm I am now doing my model textures. Also trying the low poly patch with Apachii hairs to see if I can perhaps avoid some CTD's. But I don't change races at all anyways while playing, so it's fine. After I have finished this section of player/npcs models to my liking I will report my findings. I've seen SkyTest used successfully as well in the past, and it saddens me that it's responsible for CTD's. I will leave Birds in for now, and leave out perching sky birds as I think that is just too many scripts for something I just will not take advantage of when I already have a few heavily scripted mods planned anyways. (SkyRE - Frostfall - Wet & cold - Realistic Needs % Ds ) I have a question about MO. I can remove items from my downloaded list, and 'hide' them without deleting them from the list. If I need to reinstall the mod later, how to I later return the downloaded mods to the list so I can manipulate their files at will and reinstall if needed?

Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah, I run a 2500k @ 4.5 ghz and soon 2x XFX 7970s in crossfire. 1 27 inch monitor @ 1920x1080. I am using a GTX 580 now, but I sprung for the crossfire so I can do 3 monitors eventually. I've custom built alot of pcs in my day. Even flashed a new bios to motherboards and video cards, nothing compares to trying to get Skyrim to work correctly with mods. lol! It seems like the only file that is overwriting with Climates of Tamriel is /textures/landscape/grass/tundragrassobj01.dds from Skyrim Flora Overhaul. The only files overwritten from RLO is 2 mesh effect textures for /fxdripssplash01.nif, and rapidrocks01. I figured I would let water have priorty over those files as they seem water related. RLO itself is only overwritting 4 meshes/archetecture/solitude.nifs from Unofficial Skyrim Patch. God I love MO. So-much-easier.

<p>For the sake of HTML obliterating my post I will just make a new post below my original. I did not include a boss log as the window shows my order list. The last ESP is the only one unrecognized, which is a mod that makes your spells give off light in first, and third person. I am unsure of how to delete ESPs I don't plan on activating, as the data folder does not specifically name them, so I am not sure which one I am deleting since there are all named the same. According to BOSS, everything is fine besides the duplicate Lanterns of Skyrim esps, which I have only enabled one. </p>

This is my first stage of progession and I wanted to share this with you to see if it raised any red flags. I was told that using texture mods is different from using scripted mods, and can only cause performance issues by missing textures, corrupted textures or filling your VRAM up too quickly and causing your game to crash due to running out of Video memory. This is my current textures list without any models redone. No CBBE - Better Males - Face/Hair mods as seen. I sorted this with BOSS, and cleaned what plug-ins had issues. Also note I am using Birds of Skyrim, something that does use scripts I believe, but not sure how heavily. I've seen it used in large load orders successfully. http://i.imgur.com/iA2pscq.png I still may need to tweak it according to what it's overwritten, but I have installed these files so many times I am familiar with what overwrites what, besides a few conflicting files I am still researching. Alternate start was used to start in different locations and experiment if I am still having issues in errors previously experienced. Also the main menu texture and music replacer is just epic and cannot be passed up.

Hrm, odd. Well my BSA list came defaulted like this: I know you both suggested to not use SkyRE, but SkyRE is the reason why I started doing this in the first place. I tried ACE + Duel and other methods and came up short in the gameplay satisfaction department. SkyRE makes the game difficult and realistic. It's my must-have-mod for this play-through. I am going for a survival type playthrough with Frostfall + Realistic Needs and Diseases, ect. Wet and cold would also be incorporated, as I have seen it done in Gopher's let's play videos and he had this combination stable. However, I can loose footprints and player-headtracking. Once I finish my texture build, and I am satisfied with my graphics I will move onto the meat. It won't be as extensive as last time, but I want to make sure all these texture mods I am downloading are not causing me the crashes I was experiencing. Also when I reach the step to enabling mods for my playthrough, I think I am only going to enable one at a time, and enable them as I go as previously suggested. Enabling everything right off the bat can be painful, and come to think about. The let's play videos I watched, he enabled mods as he went. Eventually found out scenic carriages were causing him CTD's, and was able to pinpoint that by loading mods over-time, instead of instantly.

I appreciate your suggestions, and you are correct about alot of things. I do have an anxiety. There is too many awesome mods that just would work SO WELL with each-other. It's like building the ultimate mod package ever, and enjoying something immersive to the extreme. I now realize I need to build my mod list for what play through I am expecting. I don't need both a vampire and werewolf overhaul, when I plan on playing A instead of B. I need to learn to trim my load order and perfect it to the play-through I had in mind. I can't have it all at once. When you are a new modder, and you step into this site and see 200 great mods, you just want to download them all. I am honestly convinced 85% of new modders who get involved here have to restart all over again from stacking mods to the ceiling and not paying attention to the conflicts it causes. I one day look forward to when I can visit this subsection of the forums and offer advice, and feel confident that I can help others and know what I am talking about. I have spent weeks studying this. Endless hours, sometimes 6-8 hours straight just reading comments and readme's about everything I can. I was severely disappointed when my last build didn't work. IT just didn't make sense to me. I did my homework, read the files.. it should of not caused the problems it did in my head, the math didn't add up. The problem is, it was more of just a self assurance from reading the success of other users. MO offers a better ability to troubleshoot mods but the learning curve is enough to offset me for a while trying to learn it. I am very reliant on people for help, because there is alot of circumstances where the WIKI or README will not have answers to my questions. I have to experiment and try things myself when nobody is around. I am just lucky Ripple has hanged around as long as he/she has. I really hope I can play soon. My will to succeed is fueled by the inevitable feeling I will be presented when I can finally sit down and click play, and enjoy the game I customized myself with all these great mods and not have to stress about CTDs.

I watched the video for MO. Already have alot of questions that were not answered. Basically he told me to create a new profile, and enable local savegames below it, and also Automatic Archive Invalidation. The problem is, Automatic Archive Invalidation is grayed out, and I cannot select it, and he didn't explain what it does. Also I don't know if I should unpack BSAs or not. I have never dealt with them before, and I don't even know what they are.

What do you think about this? http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/633229-less-ctds-maybe-none/ I had changed my INI a while ago and was using these settings.
-
I am going to familiarize myself with MO. I can spare things like Skyrim Monster mod, and other items. It's going to take a while to get used to MO. My re-download is already finished, but I am going to pop off for some lunch before I begin. I will do all my texture mods first and see if I am experiecing the same issues as before. 1. Familiarize myself with MO. 2. Install my external outputs like SKSE and BOSS. 3. Download all my texture mods. 4. Test for stability. 5. Talk to you about what scripted mods I want.
-
Alright. I've had enough of this. I am going to wipe my Skyrim folder and restart again for the 4th time. This time I will be downloading Dragonborn, and using Mod Organizer. I got some new games coming with the video cards I bought, so I can actually have something to play while I configure all of this. I will be lowering my mod list, and giving you piece by piece lists for your suggestions. I cannot do this without you. You willing to still help me?

Just got inside the Understone Keep, and now it's CTDing randomly inside. Lol. This is getting retarded.
-
Actually any NPC that needs to hand me something is broken now.
-
Just found another bug. When I stop the forsworn agent inside the city from killing Margret, and she rewards me. She won't actually give me the reward. She just stands there and won't progress the script to reward me. There is no option to respond, and hitting tab does nothing. Cannot escape either, it's just stuck. Tried it 3 times, same results. I have to force close the game from the task manager

Well I disabled SMIM - (Static Mesh Improvement Mod) and now it allows me to enter. But when I try to exit, it CTDS everytime. If I load the game, it will be outside just fine.
-
Not sure if any of this makes any sense to you, but this is my crash log:
-
Well whatever it is it's causing me to instantly crash trying to enter the Understone Keep in Makath. Everytime. Just instantly CTD's.. At least it's a good area to disable items and see why it's happening. I use hair mods with high textures and I appreciate you pointing that out. I can live with the racemenu CTDs, but I am currently unable to enter the Understone Keep. Either it freezes on loading, and doesn't load, or it just crashes my game instantly.
-
I've also noticed banners and many armor items missing graphics at times. It takes a full game restart to fix, and some items are just permanently missing textures.
-
<p>Well, I run alot of them. And why would females be crashing when switching? I know there is scripts running in the background, such as Gopher's Predator vision will run a script when you switch races to enable the night eye effect for the set race, but it doesn't crash for males.</p> <p> </p> <p>Whenever I switch to females, it nearly instantly crashes in RaceMenu, yet in the game world they all load fine. I think before I start disabling mods with scripts, I disable all my texture mods, and see if that remedies the problem. I run alot of them.</p> <p> </p> <p>IT may not be the case. My log is full of scripts for my weapon skeleton placements. I really hope that isn't the issue because the game is not worth playing without my custom skeleton placements imo. </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>-----------------------</p> <p>Edit</p> <p> </p> <p>Also I am getting wierd performance issues outside Skyrim. I run my PC with 4 monitors, but I am only running Syrim on 1. I have noticed shadows behaving badlly, my screens acting like the mouse cursor is placed on them. This could be an issue with my external graphics setting as well. But I doubt it. </p>

Okay, well I opened my game and tested and am experiencing CTDs every 45 seconds. It happens only when I move into Markath atm, as this is where I was experiencing other issues. I have a strange feeling it's because of a texture mod, but I am not sure. Also when I load racemenu and switch to females it will instantly crash 8/10. When I can get it working, switching between female races causes a near instant CTD.
