Twice I've started a game of Skyrim and twice I have hit a brick wall. After about 70 - 80 game saves I start experiencing CTDs. Every time I started NMM the load order would be different from the day before and would result in a CTD. I used about 70 mods each time. I used BOSS to see if it could find any issues and it found lots of dirty edits but I decided to start again instead of cleaning the mods. I now want to start all over but I'm not sure how to do so. I have removed all the saves but how do I start a new game? When I select the "NEW" option in the loading screen the game just sits there and does nothing. Any ideas? Thank-you!
What is the number of maximum followers you can have? What mod(s) allows this number to be increased? I say a youtube where the hero appeared to be followed by about 10 other party members. My NMM has some 110 characters to choose from (and there are even more available) and it is a shame to only use 3 or so. Thanks,
OK, I give up!!!! I got to level 28 and then started getting CTDs and couldn't find the problem. I had 20 mods from Steam and 140 mods via NMM and somewhere the whole thing came unraveled. I am willing to start all over but I am unsure how to do so. I have unsubscribed from STEAM but am unsure how to get out from under NMM. Do I just place each mod into an unload status and then launch Skyrim on Steam to start over. Hints and help would be appreciated. LokiLokiTwo
I don't know what happened but I now get CTD every time I launch the game. I got up to level 32 and have been wheeling and dealing by adding way too many new mods. Now I can't get anything to work. Between the mods subscribed to on Steam and some 140+ mods on NMM I must have screwed up and now nothing works. If I have to I will start a new game entirely but I am looking for a guideline to see if I can recover my existing game. Who has a mod order that seems to work fairly well? I would appreciate looking at your order and try to mirror it in my NMM load order. If I have to bag it and start a new game how do I go about doing that? Do I launch a brand new game and what does that do to my NMM list and Steam mod subscription list? Do I un-check those mods (both NMM and Steam) and slowly add mods a few at a time to avoid the CTD repeat? I have the Dragonborn and Dawnguard DLCs. Thanks!
Is there a mod, spell or cntrl panel command to recover lost followers? Rowan, a magic user, has wandered off and I can't find her. Thanks, LokiLokiTwo
Thanks for your help. I recently subscribed to Ogmund's Tomb in the Steam workshop (because NMM wasn't carrying it) and sure enough the .esp for it is showing up in the NMM plug-ins list. LokiLokiTwo
I originally subscribed to several mods via the Steam workshop because I didn't understand how NMM worked. Later I figured out what NMM could do and the rest of my mods were taken with this NMM tool. My question is this: Does Skyrim only play from the NMM list of mods or do the subscribed mods from the Steam workshop also work at the same time? Those mods I found in the Steam workshop that also were available using NMM I elected to use NMM. However, I still have 30+ Steam workshop mods selected because the mod authors did not make them available in NMM. At some point I will look at BOSS or some other downloading tool because using NMM you don't get to make any choices but are stuck with the mod's vanilla configuration. But that's for another day. So, are all of my mod selections working or not. I am launching the game via the skse_loader.exe. Thanks again!
