  1. To start the main quest you have to go to Balmora and Talk to Caius Cosades, for Bloodmoon you have to make your way to Khull and Talk to one of the guys at the dock to get to Solstheim (the silt strider guys can get you to either place, also consult the map, the map is your friend). For Tribunal you have to play the game long enough to get attacked by a Dark Brotherhood assassin while you sleep, this will set off the chain of events to get to Mournhold (consult your journal often, it can be helpful). As for the great houses, completing the quest line for any of the 3 will earn you a stronghold, which you will need if you accumulate a lot of items. To join house Hlaalu, you have to specialize in stealth, and speak to some lady at the Hlaalu manor in Balmora. To join house Redoran you have to specialize in combat, and talk to someone in Under Skarr in Ald Ruhn. To join house Televanni you have to specialize in magic, and have to talk to the mouths in the Televanni council house in Sadrith Mora. Hope this helped, I haven't played the game in a very long time.
  2. It is DEFIANTLY better then Oblivion, but probably tied with Skyrim. Its just as awesome but in a different way. Be warned though it does not hold your hand at all, but it has a lot more to offer. As long as you don't have a short attention span, I'm sure you will love it. Especially if you get GOTY edition.
  3. I'd say buy Oblivion (as it is an entire game in itself as opposed to just an expansion pack), honestly its not a very good Bethesda game, but still a great game overall. Game game of the year edition if you can so you get the full experience. For the low price it is now I'd say yes its entirely worth it.
  4. Yes there is a barrel or hollow stump I really don't remember, but it contains the ebony arrows of slaying that do 5000 damage, and they can kill anybody in one hit except Almalexia I think.
  5. Notched pickax? lol jk but I agree about the crafting. Personally I think its totally badass that the best weapons in skyrim are the ones you make yourself, instead of ones you get from those pompous daedra princes, or at insanley obscure places like in previous games. Custom daedric weapons ftw
  6. Its a nice idea if you loose a one of a kind item, are looking to create a fully custom character, or just wanna mess around. But I personally still prefer the rewarding feeling of getting rare items through good old fashioned questing to the ends of the Nirn :)
  7. It really only affects gameplay if you play as the beast races (Kaijiit-night eye, Argonian-water breathing). The Dunmer are my favs cause they are just so badass, as opposed to the rather wussy fancy pants ones in Cyrodiil lmao
  8. I got those arrows. They are behind Thirsk in a barrel or something if my memory serves me correct. I used them to kill Hircine, Karstaag, Dagoth Ur, Almalexia, and Umbra hehe
  9. You can get a house in Skaal Village, and your own room in Thirsk.
  10. I think it is a part of a Morrowind but its similarity in climate and terrain to Skyrim causes many Nords to live there
  11. Yeah Ur's mask, and Vivec's Ashmask (in Gnisis temple) cant be worn or even picked up. It sucks cause I'd totally wear them lol
  12. Moon Sugar is Cocaine, and Skooma is Crack. As a person who is around drugs and dealers a lot this is very obvious to me lol.
  13. Theres a lot more to do in Morrowind so you are going to find its replay value is WAY higher than Oblivion, especially if you get GOTY edition. Just keep in mind thats its a bit more difficult a game and it doesn't hold your hand like Oblivion does (leveled enemies and treasure, fast travel, ect.). Its a game that it takes time to get used to. Just don't get discouraged at first, because I hear way too many complaints from Oblivion players that Morrowind is too hard.
