.NIF files are files opened by the program nifskope. you can download it here: http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope just download the recommended version and extract the Zip to where you want the program (preferably something like C/Program Files/Nifskope, so it's not cluttering your downloads or desktop folder)
