Not really my fault this place is inactive :) Chances are others with this problem will find this thread the same way I did. -
It's not really a trick...all you're doing is freeing up physical memory that the game can now access. It's called 'clean booting'.

First of all, the auto detect is broken and always has been. Ignore it. Secondly the EE patch has a major performance issue that they won't even acknowledge and others on the official forum just give generic copy/paste answers. My rig: i5 2500k @ 3.9GHz 8GB RAM 2x AMD HD6870 (CrossFire) Before EE patch, all settings Ultra with UberSampling disabled = solid 60FPS After EE patch, all settings Ultra with UberSampling disabled = 20-30FPS Changing resolution makes no difference, setting everything to LOW makes no difference, turning off Xfire makes no difference. I can run Metro 2033 and Battlefield 3 at max settings with 2xMSaa at 60fps. My computer is a beast. Their game is broken.
