  1. I have to mention that I'm not actually very scared of anything, there is however things I could become more desensitized to, such as the dark, spiders/insects and scary movies/games. It's not like it's very uncomfortable to walk through a dark forest at night, but it IS uncomfortable. Spiders however, I have learned to instantly kill with my fist, as soon as i see them. Instead of retreating to another room, finding a long object to kill it. and exposing myself to them all, will probably help.
  2. That is pretty much what I feared would be the result. Any ideas on desensitizing myself in real life then? Walking through dark forests/areas would be one.
  3. I have to say, I really enjoy playing Dead Space! Currently on chapter 3 :) But have to cook some dinner, then I'll play some more :D
  4. I'll play Dead Space or Alan Wake today then :) Have Dead Space 1, 2 and Alan Wake waiting for me to play ;) Just gotta do some math first.
  5. The following post is probably most useful for men: This is the first thing I do: Fix it. 1. Recognize how big you've screwed up. Do you have what you need to survive? Have you failed at school? Experimented to much with drugs? Lost a job? Living at home? 2. Decide what you want, and how you want to be, and memorize it / write it down This means: Do you want a big house? A fancy car, girlfriend(s), wife, children? Good economy? Education? Muscles? etc 3. How you get it is simple: Self-discipline 4. Man the f*** up! Take control of your life, and start fixing every bit that's not ideal - RIGHT AWAY! (every tiny bit, if it's not perfect, then it's not good enough). Be a testament to self-discipline! How you fix it: 1. Make a prioritized list of things that needs to be fixed. 2. Do it! As quickly as possible, and make sure you clearly mark out every thing that has been done, with ONE line. So that you can read it, and know you have accomplished one of the things that needed to be fixed. Do however realize that certain things has to be done every single day, and is ALWAYS prioritized over everything else. ALWAYS! 1. Food & Sleep Eating regularily. Atleast 4 meals a day. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and 4 hours before bed. (Not 15 minutes later, although 30-60 minutes earlier is accepted) Always sleep 8 hours, or sleep 7 and rest 1. You go to bed at the same time, every f***ing night. Exceptions is either friday or saturday. By eating and sleeping well, you will always have the feeling of being Well Rested, and prepared for anything. A f***ing freight train! Another pro-tip: Honesty. I'm always completely honest, that includes having sex with girls. I always tell them straight upfront that I'm not interested in a girlfriend, BEFORE sex. So that she doesn't invest too many feelings. I like people, and people deserve honesty, always. And probably think you for telling them, that's pretty much worst case scenario. It is possible, I'm doing it. I went from this (18): School: Finished school, with almost bottom grades (as close you can get to flunking, without flunking) Life: Complete World of Warcraft Addict, so none. Haven't had sex once Depressed LIKE s*** No money Living with parents Self-esteem: Horrible Work: No past experience Health/Looks: Overweight, lots of acne To this (21): School: Soon done redoing math, with top grade after that I'm aiming going for civil engineer Life: Playing games, pool, exercise, occassionally rave Getting regular sex from two girls, that I really enjoy the company of. HAPPY Don't have to worry about money (2 jobs) Living alone in 55m^2 apartment Self-esteem: Like A Boss Work: Currently working two jobs, both meaningful Health/Looks: Athletic & No acne Feels good man.
  6. Thanks for the replies! I myself used to be really afraid of spiders. Then one summer 2 years ago, I had to work on the terrace. I think I encountered about 5-10 spiders every day, I worked. This somehow removed most of my fear of them, although. I could've pushed myself even further. And learn about them. As they still scare me quite a bit. At least I got a new approach than running. I smash them with my bare hands if necessary (no other usable items anywhere close) Anyways, I want to push myself. And think scary games and movies is a good place to start. I should probably look into spiders as well.
  7. Will playing games I find scary, make me harder to scare on a general basis? Could playing Doom 3, FEAR, Amnesia etc, make me less frightened in real life? I'm trying to always push my boundaries, and have recently found out that I should try to become harder to scare, less afraid of the dark etc. I'm guessing at a bare minimum that I would at least get less scared, playing games with similar themes. (Able to spot patterns) What's your opinion on this?
  8. I really enjoyed Fallout 3, and New Vegas. However I wish it was possible to play a realistic wasteland scenario. Anyone know if there is a mod that replaces all mutants, feral ghouls etc, with realic npcs? What I want is to make the game as realistic as possible, removing mutants, rad scorpions, feral ghouls and all similar unnatural creatures, replacing them with humans and animals. Besides that I just want to increase the damage a bullet does. If I get shot in the head, I die instantly. Same goes for the enemies I shoot. Nobody can take damage what so ever. If some of this is not possible, I atleast am looking for mods making it as much of a realistic experience as possible.
