I am guessing once this all rolls out we will see more than a couple MA's who get so sick of people complaining about old versions of mods that are included in collections having bugs and whatnot that they just hide the mod page and stop working on any current versions to reduce their grief. Thus removing the description, posts, useful info and of course means less mods and less MA's. At least so far Nexus has not addressed any way to keep MA's from being harassed over old content being included in Collections other than self moderation. Seems to be they are showing a callous disregard for the content creators that literally makeup the lifeblood of this site. Seems that a lot of the "staff" have gotten very large heads over the years and have started to think that Nexus success is due to them and NOT due to the Games, Mods, MA's, and Mod Information hosted here. Its my opinion that ANY group of web dev's could have run this site and that it exists purely because of the community, the current staff were just lucky enough to come along for the ride. That being said there is no point in discussing it further with Nexus. Once people get as big of heads as they have then they cannot be convinced any choices they make that directly benefit them are wrong.

Sounds like their mental gymnastics are allowing them to think "Hey you still own your mod cause you can totally keep working on it and upload it anywhere you want!" when in reality they are claiming at least partial ownership over any mod uploaded and then if anyone complains they reference a new system "Collections" that they promise more information will come soon.... as in after the deadline when no one has a choice anymore. I personally think the danger is not with them not deleting things.... that is bad but that they claim they have the rights to EDIT the mods and then redistribute the edited mod. When they do that will that mod be shown as the original MA even tho they did not make that edit OR will it now be claimed by Nexus as their own mod? How will that work?

Um... It would be most interesting to hear what You / Nexus Mods believe the definition of and rights of ownership are, would you be kind enough to elaborate? Also what exactly does your new TOS leave that the Mod Author has any control over once the file is uploaded to your site? "By submitting content to our services, you are granting an infinite, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license for Nexus Mods to store, distribute, copy or reproduce, edit, translate, reformat, publicly display, or perform the submitted content, at our discretion." The TOS literally states anything anyone uploads to your site you are free to change in any way you want and then redistribute the newly changed item however you see fit, among many other things it allows for. So when you guys go editing/changing people's mods would distribute that as a Nexus made mod or credit the original author somehow WHILE pointing out that Nexus mucked with their mod?? Sure seems like you are taking ownership of any file being uploaded from now on. Legit not trying to be a jerk and would love to understand the thought process. Maybe explaining to MA's what rights they will still retain after uploading instead of telling them what they wont have might help to put some concerns at ease?

Since the server already knows the size of each file they could set something up to track per person how much they have downloaded over X period. It would make for a pleasant feature for them to add on to the site. Not saying this is something we should expect them to do but it would make for a useful feature for a lot of folks!
