  1. Skyrim, for me, is almost unplayable with nVidia 3D vision due to poor fps. When I'm lucky, I average 18-20 fps and too often drop down to single digit stutters which is very frustrating and unplayable. I'm not sure why this is as my system is an ASUS G74S with a GTX570m (3GB vram), 12 GB Ram, i72670QM, and two 750 GB WD 7500 HDDs. I also have about 100 mods installed with Wyre Bash, including many high res text packs and 3D complete compatibiltiy mod, SKSE from the nexus . I've tried disabling all mods and still only get 20 fps on average and still drops down to 13 fps or so when stuttering... This is all while running 1920x1080, 2xAA, 4x AF, Ambient Occlusion off, Vsync off (also tried on). Of course, dropping the resolution helps, but I still experience stuttering problems in certain areas of the game - enough to be very annoying. Things I've tried include: updating the driver, running windowed mode (marginal success - but strangely causes my system to act very laggy after exiting the game - requiring a restart). Defragged the HDDs. Changed virtually all the nvidia control panel options, Vsync, etc. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game multiple times. I've followed S.T.E.P. I have also considered RAID 0 and/or an SSD. Have others had success with either of these options when it comes to stuttering problems? On another note, task manager never seems to show Skyrim using more than 1 GB of ram - which seems strange since I'm on windows7 64 with 12 GB of Ram. I know, skyrim is a 32 bit app, but shouldn't I see more than 1 GB over usage in task manager? Theoretically, up to 4 GB? Basically, I'm out of ideas and ready to give up and go back to 2D, so the game is at least playable. Either that or return my system and get a better one! I bought this thing so I could play Skyrim in 3D What fps are others getting while running 3d vision on similar systems? Am I just wanting too much from my system with all the mods AND 3D? Anyways, any advice would be very much appreciated as I am close to giving up on the 3D - which is a huge bummer cause it adds soooo much to the game!!!
  2. I'm experiencing the same thing as Thunderbone...I have about 140 mods and everything was working fine until about a week ago when it started crashing in game all the time...

  4. Thanks to both Renn and KraG for the quick helpful reply! So, I'm very new to all of this and I looked into both methods. I'm giving Krags' method a shot first because I cant currently download BSAopt as I'm having trouble with the Nexus website. KraG, just so I understand: if I change my ini file which reads: "[Archive] sResourceArchiveList=Skyrim - Misc.bsa, Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Skyrim - Textures.bsa, Skyrim - Interface.bsa, Skyrim - Animations.bsa, Skyrim - Meshes.bsa, Skyrim - Sounds.bsa sResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Voices.bsa, Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa" This last line is different from what the thread you linked above shows - not sure if this makes a difference or not. ...to include, "HighResTexturePack01.bsa, HighResTexturePack02.bsa" at the end and then disable the high res 1 and 2 esp boxes in NMM, then my other texture mods will now be able to over-write the bethesda HD textures? Thanks for all the help as I am pretty novice to all this stuff :)
  5. Is it possible to use both the new high rez texture pack from bethesda and simultaneously use other texture packs from other mods that I've downloaded through NMM? The problem is that the new pack is over writing some of the textures from previous mods that I like better. For instance, sexy Whiterun, Vurts Floral, and high res trees all seem to be over-written by the new texture pack. Basically, I would like to start with the bethesda high rez texture pack and then over-write it with my other favorite texture mods, but I don't know if this is possible.
