The names and descriptions of the powers all follow a specific theme for lack of a better word except for "sense star stuff". Renaming it to "star sense" or "life sense" or something suitably thematic to the other power names and descriptions would be a very minor but welcome mod.

Ugly blocky shadows on characters and NPC's
Se7enupMustang replied to Se7enupMustang's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
How do you get rid of them completely? None of the mods or .ini tweaks make it playable. The weird thing is, I NEVER noticed them until I decided to reinstall and play this time. If you guy's necro game was any stronger you could bring jesus back, I made this thread in 2013. -
Here are a few things I've come up with while playing that I thought would be good additions to the game. I really didn't want to go through a bunch of pages to see whats already been listed so yea ignore those that have already been posted a billion times. Also if something I list is already in the vanilla game be sure to mention it, while I've put a lot of time in I know that there has to be things I've not picked up on yet. Share you thoughts also theres a poll. Full Auto .308 reciever for the Combat Rifle Full Auto .45 reciever for Pipe Rifle Different Reflex sight for Pipe weapons (maybe single verticle post w/ circle on top or just a standard cross) Burst fire(two/three round bursts) recievers for various weapons(Pipe guns .38/.45, 10mm Pistol, Assualt Rifle, Laser Rifle) .50 single barrel conversion for Minigun (per shot dmg increase, slower RoF) Plasma Conversion for Gatling Laser (per shot dmg increase, Slower RoF) Acid/Poison conversion for Flamer Power Armor Power Fist Left handed/Right handed gun use w/Animations Fallout NV ammo types Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine Armor/Weapons (Various Marks of Power Armor, Various versions of Boltgun's Chainweapons etc.) Two Handed Melee weapons w/ Longer versions Ripper/Swords etc Throwable melee weapons (spear, axe, knife, various existing weapons ex: tire iron) Cooking Grenades Stun/Sleeping gas mine Underslung weapons (ex: shotgun, grenade luncher, ripper) Multiple zoom level scopes or multiple sights on the same weapon (ex:telescopic site on top of rifle reflex on side) Multi barrel addon for shotguns(triple/quad for double barrel, double/triple/quad for combat shotgun) That Gun(5.56mm pistol) from NV Lever Action Rifles from NV Recharcher Rifle/Pistol or mod parts for Laser rifle/pistol to turn them into Recharger weapons Turn Codsworth into Sentry bot/other bot types Robot followers (Protectron, Sentry bot, Mr.Gutsy) Issue basic orders to faction NPC's (Synths, minute men, BoS) Weapon lights Equipable weed eater Settlement stuff Additional bridges (smaller ones that dont have stilts on them) Attach doors to pre-existing buildings/houses (ex sanctuary houses) Ability to repair pre-existing houses, not to prewar but at least fix the holes in the roof/ceiling and walls. !PINK FLAMINGO TURRETS! Ugly blocky shadows on characters and NPC's
Se7enupMustang replied to Se7enupMustang's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
No performance issues here, I can max Skyrim on my laptop so it's nothing for my new desktop and like I said I have everything maxed and it still seems too be poping in way to close. -
Ugly blocky shadows on characters and NPC's
Se7enupMustang replied to Se7enupMustang's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Most of the settings were already set like that, I did have to add iShadowFilter=3, bShadowsOnGrass=1, bDeferredShadows=0, bDrawShadows=1 but everything else was like you posted. It still didnt fix the shadows on charaters though, I added a shot so you can see. on a side note while I have you here do you know any settings to make the terrain detail pop up suddenly in a less fugly way. I have everything maxxed out and it looks like the detail pops in at about 200 feet which is very very noticeable and aggravating. -
Are there any mods that get rid of them or any .ini settings I can use to make them look better. Please don't suggest any ENB mods, I've gotten my skyrim to look the way I want except for the shadow quality.

Do I uninstall the old NMM then install the new one?
Se7enupMustang replied to Losse's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
no just run the installer for the new one, it overwrites old version (mods aren't affected) -
I'm not really familiar with imaginator so I couldn't comment there. I don't really know what to suggest. Perhaps try something like SweetFX - it has quite a customisable setup with several options to play with. Other than that, ENBs probably are the easiest way forward. I love the visuals from some ENBs but as my computer isn't great I wanted an alternative hence why I decided to completely rewrite the internal lighting and weather system! But I wouldn't recommend doing this, is more stress than it's worth  I wouldn't even know where or how to begin to do that, I took a look at the SweetFX page and I'll give it a try later. First I'm going to mess around with what I have, I've switched from Enhanced Lights and FX mod to the Realistic Lighting overhaul mod and I'm to see if I can get closer to how I want Skyrim to look. Imaginator is really nice though, no editing files or anything just an in game spell to summom a guy that you talk to to change the settings, There are some pretty cool presets but its all customizable and there's no fps hit at all that I could detect. my performance is exactly the same according to the Skyrim Performance Monitor.

Thank you for the clear and concise way you both have explained ENB, I knew there would be a performance hit using ENB which is the primary reason I haven't committed to trying it, I've seen a number of people complaining about it on several ENB mod pages here on the nexus. Like ilikecheese1337 I use the IMAGINATOR mod as well as DYNAVISION, Skyrim HD 2k textures, and Enhanced Lights and FX but I can't get Skyrim to look the way I want. I want vibrant colors without being fake and I just cant get it right, I can get close with the Imaginator mod but then I have issues at night where the sky is bright enough to outline mountains and trees and I can see perfectly to the horizon but if I fix the brightness at night then during the daytime everything is too dark. Its very immersion breaking to have to stick with either or and I got tired of spending 5 minutes changing the settings whenever it becomes day or night. I want rich colors that are like this SEG ENB Just without too much of a fps hit, right now I have a sweet spot where I average 30-48fps and I don't want to lose that. On the topic of hardware I'm playing on a laptop, an Alienware M14x - i7 2630QM, 8GB RAM, Nvidia GT 555M 3GB. Currently my settings are 1600x900 AAx4 AFx4 Textures/Shadow/Decal quality high Radial Blur medium No FXAA No water reflections Object/Actor/Item fade 10 Grass 5 Spec Fade 12 Light Fade 25 Distant Obj. Detail Medium Distant Obj. Fade on I've decided against using ENB, maybe I will when I get my desktop built but I wont use it on my laptop, Can you recommend anything that can get me at least close to what I'm trying to get?
-
Ok I'll start off by saying I do use mods and I have slowly been using more and more complicated ones as I learn more about not messing up my game, I take things slow though so bear with me on that. Anyways, Can someone please explain in English what ENB is (aside from the obvious "it makes everything look awesome" description), how it works, how to install it, what it conflicts with (mods) etc. Please keep in mind that I don't make mods, or do any sort of programming or anything related to it so please refrain from using acronyms and jargon associated with making mods or doing complicated things with game/system files and the like. Thanks much. Mustang also I attached a random thing just cause
