So when you get the alien containment center it displays in your base whatever the first alien you stunned was. Once you have another alien in custody it will display that alien until you interrogate him after which it will go back to displaying your original. I'd like to be able to edit which alien is being displayed in my containment center. I'd assume this info would be located in the actual save file, which I have no clue how to edit.

Main XCom folder -> XComGame -> Localization -> INT -> XComGame.int You can edit it with notepad or notepad++ but I haven't tried to see if any changes in that file show up in game yet.

You can do this yourself. Follow the steps I gave in the post here http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/812504-small-mod-request/ Find the section where it shows the difficulty adjustments for impossible, classic etc. change those values to whatever you like (I recommend removing and +aim and +crit advantages from the CPU on classic and impossible should give you exactly what you want) Play.

They're all real easy to make yourself. Really, really easy. Get modpatcher.exe and put it in the same folder as your XComGame.exe Copy your DefaultGameCore.ini file and put it in that same folder with modpatcher.exe and XComgame.exe Open DefaultGameCore.ini in notepad and make the edits you want, they're all obvious except the arc thrower one which can also be done there I think you just give it pistol properties. You'll see what I mean. Save the file as DefaultGameCore.mod dbl click modpatcher.exe Play. I would highly suggest not turning on the ability to intercept all UFOs though. It makes soooooo many more UFOs pop up that it seems like 90% of your missions now are at a crashed UFO site and there's only a couple of those maps. That you will repeat. Over. And over. And over. If you like map variety don't turn it on. And if you don't think you like map variety right now, after playing that many downed UFO maps you will be begging the game to give you something different real quick.

XCOM EU Voice Actor/Actress Deja Vu
EbenezerGrymm replied to NephilimNexus's topic in XCOM's Discussion
Shien, the head engineer guy, is the Dharma scientist from Lost. I can't remember his name, I've mentally blocked out most of the show. -
What I'd really like is.... since we can modify the button scheme for the controller seemingly pretty easily I'd like to be able to disable to auto zoom-back-in when you zoom out with the left trigger. Have left trigger zoom out only, and have something like left trigger + left thumb click zoom back in. I'll mess around with it later. I saw the file where the buttons were defined and read through it but I don't remember them having a definition for the thumb click L3 R3. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH and maybe I'll make R3 quick save....................

Topic title pretty much says it all. It would be nice and sensible to be able to use your arc thrower after performing Run n Gun with an assault trooper. I've looked through most files and I haven't found where values are stored for the class abilities. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd like to take a crack at it myself.

It might be possible. t seems that somewhere there's something telling the game to put your elevator in the center of your base grid and it always seems to the left of it is a satellite bay. I know where the setting is to say how many steam vents you can randomly have (3 by default). Since you can build anything on top of steam vents I guess you could just try setting that to 28 and then practically every tile should be a steam vent for you to use.

XCOM EU Play with Controller plus Movement Grid
EbenezerGrymm replied to skyhopper88's topic in XCOM's Mod Ideas
I looked for this myself after reading the topic. Couldn't find it. However, there are things you can do with the controller that you can't do with the cursor+grid. For example if for some reason you want to move in between squares you can do that with the controller but not with cursor+grid. Or if you won't to move right next to cover but for some reason not want to be in cover you can do that with a controller but not with cursor+grid. So yeah while it would kind of be nice in a nostalgic sense the controller really is better. -
As far as the sound effects go the iconic ones from selecting an option in the original. The simple "ooweep" and the ever awesome and often used original pop up "......................... OK I can't type the sound out but you know the one I mean. I believe they are both free to use sounds since they're in everything fro commercials to my own Windows installation by default.

I went and installed every mod in STEP and have noticed one curious omission, there's no hi res textures for metal cages. Specifically in the very beginning of the game walking through Helgen Keep you're like, looking at all this wonderful eye candy from the 100 mods you just installed and then notice the jail cells are still low res ugly metal. I tried searching but can't find anything that replaces these. Any advice or is this worthy to put in the mod request area?

There's a thousand mods that add more hair options, not a single mod that adds more facial hair options. Some enterprising modder could make one single facial hair mod and have the monopoly on Skyrim facial hair. Can't believe the game has been out as long as it has and no one has made a single additional facial hair set. Looking specifically for what would probably be an easy one, the half goatee. You know, a goatee without the moustache part. So you could probably just use the vanilla goatee and erase the stache. Additionally that combined with the vanilla long goatee that ties around itself would be nice. Also you could have like... handlebar moustaches. There's all kinds of facial hair that could be done.

The little red dots that show enemy locations on your compass are... just little red dots amonst usually a ton of other icons present. Sometimes they're just hard to see. So maybe replacing them with icons that are bigger. I think what would be best is... hard to explain, something like lets say these two l;ines below ore the compass, and that "o" is the current red dot -------------------------- o -------------------------- So maybe something more like this, like instead of a red dot it's more of a red spike that extends outside of the compass ----------------------------- l l l-l------------------------ v Basically just something more visible. A really neat optional feature would be if a sound effect could be hooked to play when enemy icons show up on the compass. Even further, a really great thing would be just a better overall compass. A "smart" compass that only shows when mounted and/or when enemy icons are present and fades out otherwise with some other simple condition that lets players bring it up at any time... like maybe show when accessing the favs menu.... Glorious.

I'm just stunned that Bethesda would include a random event "quest" for lack of a better word that can randomly target and kill potentially important characters in the game which can completely break quest lines. A mod that either just removes this completely or removes the random part of it so that you'd only receive the inheritance from people you either kill yourself or die from other means (followers dying while they're with you, dragons attacking etc.)
-
I searched through the site and couldn't find what I was looking for. I -HATE- the "Letter of Inheritance" where a random character dies and you get a letter and usually a small sum of gold. If someone dies in my game I want it to be by my hand or at least on my terms. That it can also break or block you from quests is also extremely frustrating. Aela, Ysolda, etc. If someone knows of a mod or some other way like a console command to stop this from happening I'd be eternally grateful if you could point me in that direction. I've heard respawning characters who die using the console commands can lead to problems. I don't know how accurate that is or not but I can see how it could be problematic so just disabling the whole random deaths thing would be my preferred method of dealing with it if that's at all possible.

Can you use the console to become "Undead"?
EbenezerGrymm replied to EbenezerGrymm's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Thank you very much for taking the time to reply, xlcr. It's funny how sometimes something that seems so simple can have such a complicated answer. I've asked about this in a couple different places with people proficient in Skyrim-ese and have gotten responses that make similar suggestions to yours and even more on top of that, but in no case has anyone actually known exactly what it is that flags your player as undead when becoming a vampire that allows you to further benefit from the Necromage perk. It's really kinda fascinating. I'll try all those suggestions though and post back if I'm able to find out which one actually works. -
I've been trying to figure out a way to have my player classified as undead in Skyrim so I can benefit more from the Necromage perk. I know becoming a vampire supposedly flags your player as undead so you get the added benefits from the perk, but I'd really like to find a way to do it without being a vamp. I don't see any mods that do anything like this, and I see console commands for "set playeriswerewolf" and "set playerisvampire" but nothing for undead. If anyone has any info on if this is possible or not and how to do it if it is possible that would be wonderful.
