  1. When you say it won't let you edit the script, do you mean it comes up with the message "can't open .psc file type" for windows. If so, then right click on the script (if you're going through the Papyrus Script Manager) and select Use Info, then double-click on the script that comes up to bring up a new window. Go to the scripts tab at the end and right click on the script, then select Edit Source. This is tedious I know, so for convenience I copy it to Notepad++.

Thanks I'll give that a try. If this works I still need to figure out how the werewolf script works though.

  2. 1. Vampirism effect for all stages needs to be tweaked so that disease resistance isn't so high. That's probably easily done, the disease resistance is just an effect, decrease it's magnitude.

    2. Werewolf effect needs to be tweaked so that it takes into account if the player is a vampire. That's probably a script (haven't had time to check it myself), so a simple IF statement somewhere in there should fix the problem.

    Anyway, that's where I'd start.

I already knew all of this, but thanks anyway. I'm trying to find out how to edit the werewolf script (it wont let me) and what to edit it with. I guess i should have been clearer.

  3. So far it is possible to be a werewolf and vampire at the same time if you lower your disease resistance somehow, but whenever beast form is used, it resets you back to your original race, removing your vampirism.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to combat this effect, and if there is already a mod out there which fixes this.

  4. Personally I'd find it annoying that they're saying something else. I'd rather just have them not speak at all.

I do understand some small parts of Japanese, so that would make it even worse for me. I know some basic grammar, words, phrases and the number system.

  5. The conversations are 1st person if you play in 1st person. Just go into 1st person mode when you want to talk to someone.

No they are not because even when I turn to first person view the conversation are in 3rd person.

If you remember conversation in oblivion they were only involving the heads I like the idea not quite but in skyrim it is worse since the distance is larger and I do not like it.

In oblivion you could say you do not like how baurus, emperor looked like because you could see their faces, now in skyrim you can hardly see faces compared to oblivion style.

    That is what I meant.

I'm not sure if you know what first person is.

First person means you see from your characters eyes. It does not mean zoomed in.

If you are in first person, and initiate a conversation, you still see it out of your characters eyes, but it will not zoom in.

If you mean you want it to zoom in on their face only (which i guess you do), then it will probably be able to be done when the CK comes out (tuesday).

  6. hey,

I now have autodesk 3ds max for a few weeks and I was planning to make mods for skyrim.

but now is my problem: how can you change moddels from skyrim, and change the spells?

    where can you find them?

First of all, the meshes are in a .nif format, and the textures are .dds. You will need programs that can read these formats, and edit them seperately

second, they are all compressed into .bsa archives, which you need yet another program to extract from.

and finally, to actually get custom stuff into the game, you will need either the CK (not out yet) or SkyEdit. I suggest you look up the modding wiki.
