  1. You would need to look in to your CPU, GPU, VRAM, and RAM utilization while playing each game to find out what is going on. I know for a fact that world of warcraft is almost entirely CPU bound as it uses like 1.25 cores total. The MMO part of it leads it to being a CPU bound game. I typically see well over 60 fps in WoW though......in dungeons I have seen like 200-300 fps at times. Skyrim on the other hand should likely be GPU bound. I have a 4790k and a 980ti, and with 200 mods I see about 30 fps with the CPU utilization at 60% across all cores, 4 GB VRAM used out of 6, and GPU core speed around 1400 MHz 100% utilized. I have realvision enb, every 4k texture you can imagine, unbelievable grass 2 at max density, warzones 2015, and a host of other mods....my point is you need to be realistic about what you can expect from your rig...I have some good hardware, but I know that I am pushing it to the limit so 30 fps for me is acceptable.
  2. I was able to solve a lot of crashing issues by simply optimizing my SKSE.ini and ENBlocal.ini files. http://warzones.skyrim.modunion.com/enhancing-your-system-memory-and-you/ I am able to use about 4 GB VRAM out of my 6 as measured by HWinfo64. I went from 15 second CTD to a CTD so rare they might as well not exist after following that link. Although I have a 64 bit windows 10 with a 980 ti with 6 VRAM and 16 GB physical RAM....so I have a bit more head room. I will say that you having a 32 bit system is going to seriously limit how much RAM you are able to use. A few hog mods and you will CTD when you run out of space.
  3. Before you drop a ridiculous amount on a titan, you first need to make sure that your graphics card is the limiting factor. Download HWinfo for your computer, and open it up looking for the lines (assuming you have hyperthreading deactivated): "Core #0 Thread #0 Usage" "Core #1 Thread #0 Usage" "Core #2 Thread #0 Usage" "Core #3 Thread #0 Usage" "GPU Core Load" "GPU memory Usage" You need to log these to a file while you play your game for 10-15 minutes. Open the log up and see which of these is hitting 100%. Personally, I see the 4 cores running around 50-60% while my GPU is maxed out at 100% nearly the entire time while my GPU memory usage is no more than 35%. If this is the case for you, then yes a GPU upgrade would help as it would for me. Point number 2 is are you handling your memory properly in your enblocal.ini and your skse.ini? You can see both MASSIVE stability improvements as well as frame rate improvements by simply having the proper memory handling of your GPU. You can have all the VRAM in the world, but if you don't tell Skyrim to use it...by DEFAULT it won't. I have found realvision fixes some of the issues with the memory, but even it has some serious short comings in its settings. I went from CTD every 15 seconds to 100% stable by just changing a single memory value from 512 mb to 768 mb. A good guide is the warzones 2015 website under their memory management and you page (I'd link it but the site is under maintenance at the moment). The next point to make is that you need to have realistic expectations when it comes to mods. I run nearly 200 mods with ultra/4k/8k setting on realvision, grass mod, warzones, etc etc on top of running nvidia 3d vision. I get around 30 fps total on my machine even though I have a 4790k with a 980ti. Be realistic on what you can expect. For me I have a monster GPU, but I know the ridiculous load I am putting on it leading to 30 fps. (without nvidia 3d turned on it is nearly 60 however but just shy). My last point is don't waste your money on a titan x. Get a 980 ti for much less money......it is essentially the same exact card except for the 12 GB VRAm vs 6 GB VRAM. Like I told you I have a ridiculous and absurd amount of textures/mods.....and I don't even sniff 6GB VRAM. TL:DR Make sure your GPU is actually being maximized at the moment. Find your bottleneck to make sure the component you are improving is the correct one. Make sure you have the correct .ini settings to make Skyrim utilize memory properly. Make sure your Skyrim download/modding makes it even possible to hit the FPS you desire. If you do upgrade, DO NOT by a titan x.....buy a 980 ti. It is the same card/same speed with less wasted VRAM space for much less money.
  4. I had this same issue when I was putting warglaives in to the game. I fixed it by reinstalling the skeleton mod (same as yours...make sure to select the correct weapon placement in the options), reinstalling the dual sheath mod, and then running FNIS and the dual sheath redux patch in your Skyrim/data/skyproc patchers/dual sheath redux patch folder. You need to run FNIS (assuming you have it) and (especially) the dual sheath redux patch *every time you make a change to your addons*. This includes even simple changes to load order. Even if you don't think one or the other is necessary, do it anyway to make sure you are covered. This fixed my problem..hope yours is easy to fix as well.
  5. Thank you for the reply! To answer a few points: You can launch skyrim through any method that uses SKSE. You do not need to go through NMM for any programs although it can be easier to do soI would like to consolidate some of the mods I do have as I feel that there is still unnecessary bloat. Even with the bloat though I can get at worst 30 fps running fairly consistently. I typically see 50 fps. One big thing I was able to do was set the enblocal to use 4 GB of VRAM. I am not 100% sure that it made a difference, but I believe it did bump my fps up a bit. I would have to test it specifically to confirm, but just by casual observation I believe it did.I just put in the SKSE.ini file today...I had been running without it for a while now. Hopefully this will increase stability and eliminate all CTD that I had remaining (few and far between now but still).I definitely spam that program whenever I make any change at all to cover my bases.I didn't know that those realistic waters ones were redundant. Thank you for pointing that out.
  6. Not even 5 minutes after creating this topic, I was able to solve the problem. It seems that Skyrim will not load at all if you have Evolve Gaming Network open in any capacity at all. You need to completely exit out of Evolve Gaming, and the problem instantly goes away. This also applies to Mumble as I found on an internet post which led me to think evolve could be the problem. TL:DR Evolve Gaming Network is not compatible with Skyrim. Skyrim will not run with it open.
  7. ******************************************************************************************** ******************************************************************************************** THIS IS SOLVED SEE REPLY ******************************************************************************************** ******************************************************************************************** ******************************************************************************************** ******************************************************************************************** ******************************************************************************************** Sorry for the title typo......anyway I just bought Skyrim last week, and, like I assume a lot of people do when they first get it, I modded the hell out of it. I am quite new to this, so I am guessing that this issue is likely originating from some mistakes I made with modding. With that out of the way, the short version of what happened is the following. Early last week I loaded all my mods, ran the FNIS/LOOT/TES5EDIT steps, and played the game. I, for the most part, was able to play the game with only a few CTDs. All of a sudden one morning when I turned on my pc and tried to load skyrim, this would happen: Hit Play in the steam app for the SKSE Skyrim graphics launcher loads just like normal; I hit Play Skyrim would go to a full black screen and then immediately crash with a windows "Skyrim has stopped working, Windows is searching for a solution" I figured this was an issue with my modding, so I clean installed. I did a much better job of installing mods, and the game was running nearly flawlessly. I logged out last night with absolutely no issues or CTDs. I wake up this morning to load in to skyrim, and all of a sudden the same issue is happening. I went to steam to check the consistency of the cache, and it had to re download nearly all of the DLCs it had. This, nor anything else I have tried has worked. Even when I uncheck partial or all mods this issue persists. I am positive I need a clean install at this point, but I wanted to make a forum post to try and prevent this happening AGAIN. I actually want to play Skyrim and not Elder Scrolls v: Modding. -------------------------------------------------------- Here is information asked for in the sticky: -------------------------------------------------------- Computer Specs: Windows 10 CPU: 4790k quad core 4.0 ghz GPU: Nvidia 980ti 6 GB VRAM 16 GB system ram 71 GB free hard drive space Game location: C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Skyrim Version: latest up to date DLC: all 3 DLCs with the high res pack I am using NMM 0.60.8 I am using SKSE (not sure how to find version....I am assuming latest) I am using LOOT and TES5EDIT The LOOT is running with zero warnings/errors (The TES5EDIT(s) for the DLC were not in this copy paste.....when running the game I clear these), and I am running with Project ENB. Here are some windows event log errors I found relating to this mornings crashes: Is it too many high res textures? Too many mods? Windows issue? Skyrim issue? Is it an issue with having a bunch of mods that effect the same in game thing? I appreciate any help that you guys can give.
