  1. Are you using the vanilla follower system? You know what, if you have the time to pack your mod files I could take a look at it for you.
  2. This may go without saying but is it voiced? And oh yeah, I think checking the Random flag should help
  3. Try getdistance < 500 run on your follower reference
  4. Okay, how about this: Is there a way to fill an alias with a random battle target and then use that reference alias in a scene?
  5. Does anyone know how to add a shout to an NPC mid game via scripting without corrupting saves?
  6. I've been racking my brain trying to get this thing to work and I'm stumped. I'm trying to add a new amulet item made from scratch and I think I've gotten pretty far I'm just not sure why it's not showing up after going through tons of tutorials and such. The thing is it shows up in nifskope and in the Creation Kit as a solo armor item just not on player models or in game. I'm sure I set the correct partition body part to 35 both in the nif and in the CK. I tried setting the texture path incorrectly to see if I'd get the giant warning sign when wearing it but even then, nothing. I'm just simply not sure what that means. I think I added the skeleton and bone weights correctly but I'm not positive or know what else would cause this. If anyone would be kind enough to check out my .nif and see if there's anything obvious I missed or any insight on my situation to narrow down my research would be greatly appreciated. NEVERMIND! FIXED IT! The AA wasn't set in the Armor piece.
  7. Yeah you probably just missing the fragment, double check your follower has the fragment what ever it is .. somesomething.SetFollower(akspeaker) or obviously he will say his dialogue but the game will do nothing else since it has no direction.
  8. I know troubleshooting those things are a pain! I suggest trying one more thing, try and move the destination marker elsewhere .. preferably closer like maybe a few feet in front of the starting positing and see if the subject moves then.
  9. At first I thought it was a hardware issue but you say it looks fine in game which lead me to my next conclusion. I had a similar issue once and the issue was in fact the ENB. I forget what it was called exactly, but try moving the d3d9.dll file(what ever file it is that makes ENBs work) from your data folder into somewhere else temporarily then load creation kit again and see if that makes a difference.
  10. Could be a few things, the one I encounter the most is simply not waiting long enough. NPCs only periodically check to see if there's a new package to start doing, in order to make sure that's not the problem you can use the console, click on the NPC with the package and type "evaluatepackage" which will force the npc to check for a new package right away. - Does the package have conditions and are they met? - Is there another package which conditions are being met at the same time but higher in the list? (The top one will take priority) - Is the NPC being interrupted by anything? Check the Clear All Interrupt Flags in the Flags tab and try and check the Must Complete box so it doesn't try to finish early. See if any of those work for you.
  11. Sorry for the delay, was having net problems. But she is up now! http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53867/? Hope everything else goes smoothly.
  12. Comments like that get me so excited. I hope I can live up to expectations though! That sounds easy enough to implement, sure, I can try that. I'll definitely see what I can do. But I'm glad you like what you see so far. Anyways everything seems ok and still shooting for an early release tomorrow. :pirate:
  13. I completely agree with you and which is what I wanted to aim for first and foremost was a good actress with a pleasing female voice. It was partly the reason I decided to make a follower because the mods you mentioned made such great fleshed out characters that really felt alive and useful but I just couldn't like them because of the quality of the voice. Unfortunately what I think I lack in is what they do have in actual modding ability, lol, but I think I'm faring pretty well considering my experience. But thank you, I'm glad you like her. Anyways! I've updated the OP post and preview/trailer for her and will release the first version of her on FRIDAY. Thanks for anyone still following!
  14. Yes, of course. I apologize for the lack of activity I just had the most trouble getting this stand-alone downloadable and I only had 1 tester. I got all my permissions as well so .. Any day now for sure.
  15. I think I'm nearing a good testing stage so If anyone would be interested in testing, drop me a pm or comment!
  16. Sorry! Yes, it's still coming along. I think I may be trying to be a little too ambitious with this mod which might be a mistake on my part so I've been trying to tone it back down. I suppose I feel like I had a lot of expectations and I've been trying to do more than I am capable of. I think you can expect a release by the end of the month if everything goes alright.
  17. The flowers on her hair are a part of the hair from the SG Hair Pack mod. I understand there's a lot of people that like a somewhat dirty, lore friendly, time specific look to their followers and I'm simply not trying to make that claim and please everyone in that regard. If I find more people detest the hair that much, I think there's more than enough hairs to choose from so I'll consider it although I am very comfortable with her appearance as it is. Anyways, as for that line you mentioned .. I enabled just about all the lines I had to be said randomly for the purpose of the demo to showcase the voice but the end result won't be as cluttered. For instance asking her to wait while in the middle of a dungeon, at the throat of the world, or anywhere bizarre for practically no reason would illicit that response. I thought that would be an appropriate response for a young girl being left in a dark dungeon or in the middle of no where by herself whom is easily frightened. I'd have a similar response if someone asked that of me! I don't mean to sound rude but I really don't know how else to ask, lol, but did you read what I wrote about her already? I'll admit it's really cliche and not very original if you break it down to its concept of "girl with deep dark past" but I'm definitely trying to avoid her being a perfect mary sue. If I were to compare her to anyone with the vanilla game in terms of backstory I'd say someone from the DB or more specifically Astrid. But I agree in dialogue being very important! She is certainly a bit sarcastic and won't be 100% serious all the time but I think overall I've achieved a perfectly believable in-universe character. So far, that is. Traveling with her won't be an immersion breaker. But thank you! I could use all the guides I can get and I'll definitely check out that mod.
  18. Ah, Inigo, of course. Funnily enough I downloaded that around when it first came out but never tried him. I hear nothing but good things but from the videos I've seen he really does have a noticeable personality. The more mods I can use as example the better, as I've found Vilja to be ultimately closest to what I'd like to make but I do hear a lot of mixed opinions. Anyways, thank you! Knowing people have expectations really keeps me motivated. That's mostly my own fault as I gave some pretty strict guidelines in the script I wrote for her and the writing itself naturally comes off as very ... American. In my defense I had Serana in mind while writing the script and looking for an appropriate voice for her and I thought there were similarities in the final product between the two. But in the end while I try to keep it as close to lore friendly as possible, I know I can't please everybody and the way I have her questline planned out .. or how she comes close to breaking the fourth wall .. well let's just say I know not everyone will like her. But thank you! I'll be sure to pass on the kind words.
  19. Ahh, I see what you mean. It hurts my little brain thinking about how I could achieve things like that while thinking about how I could fit it into her character. I already have a few lines commenting about some of the creepy creatures of Skyrim but that's pretty much it -- just comments. I think it's easy to modify disposition as a result of a player action but what comes after might take a little extra thinking. I actually had never seen that mod before but I'm glad you pointed it out for me. I've been mostly using Vilja as a guide for my mod but having another source to learn always helps. I'll definitely consider it and see what I can do.
  20. Sure, pal. I used the tutorial by DECK16 to get started and just taught myself from there. http://deck16.net/post/22645519500/making-a-unique-voiced-follower-in-skyrim-part-1
  21. I thought so too after I posed it! The full resolution pic looks so much better, maybe I should consider finding a new cover pic for this, haha! :pinch: But thank you, knowing people are looking forward to it really keeps me motivated.
  22. I knew people would love the voice and was one of the things I knew I had to be critical on given the experience I had in reading some of the comments on other custom voiced mods; something soft, easily understandable, and feminine was my goal. I know I scored big so If you want to check out her YT channel and listen to the rest of her amazing work: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1JEJ91p9_bWCzdRaU3ICcQ The outfit is using the skirt from the West Wind Misfit series which I have yet to get permission to use but hopefully I'll get to use it because I feel the same way. I wanted something practical but at the same time fit her young, teenage, girly personality so I wanted her to show a little skin and that skirt was perfect for it. I agree her looks may be a bit on the glamorous side especially if you're looking for a lore friendly experience. Maybe I can dial back the eyelashes and flawless face a little. As for random comments, definitely something I'd like to add more of. As of right now it's a few lines of the most obvious stuff like the weather, heights, darkness, etc .. but I hear lots of complaints about followers talking too much so I just really gotta find a sweet spot for that. She can also be real meta to add a little humour if you paid attention to some of her lines in the vid as in mocking Lydia in her imfamous line when asked to carry something or wondering where she's going to put all the stuff you give her. Thanks! I would really love to flesh out her personality some and actually already had a little something in mind as a start but what do you mean by act on exactly? Like .. force a conversation to stop you from doing something? That's something I think I have plenty of already of about 20 total taunts. Thank you! I'll pass on the kinds words to her. :) I hope so too! I have plenty of time and I'm just limited by my own ability to learn how to do all these things but using other mods as guides in an attempt to teach myself is really helping. Anyways, I know this site is very known for being touchy on some subjects and I feel someone is going to complain that you shouldn't be able to marry a teenager. So like you said, maybe if enough people like this mod and request that specific feature.
  23. Mirai, the Girl with the Dragon Heart http://i.imgur.com/9vA0pK0l.jpg Meet Mirai: Mirai[mur-aye] is a young Breton mage living alone in the harsh frozen wastelands of Skyrim for close to a year. Originally from High Rock like the rest of her kind, you'll be quick to learn a situation with her father caused her to seek refuge alone in the lands of the north. What the situation was, however; she's not as open about. Mirai had always been a delicate girl, a fawn under her mothers protection -- a sheltered life but with the adventurous heart of a dragon. As such being forced to learn to become more independant so quickly was a struggle but found a way to carry on. Her long time alone in Skyrim has begun to have an affect on her once sweet demeanor and now comes off as a much more abrasive, distrusting, overall 'cold' person to others. Her front comes to falter from time to time as at the very heart of her being she is still the same delicate girl she once was and perhaps just needs someone to open up to to help her solve the problem that continues to plague her from the inside out. Meet the Dev: First and foremost this is my first modding attempt of any kind of any game. Simply put the amount of easily accessible material and modding tools made available by the amazing Skyrim modding community and the sheer amount of easy to follow tutorials, etc has made it easy enough for someone as dumb as me to pick up and get started quickly. I've been using tons of mods made by others for months now and have always wanted to add a personal touch of my own to Skyrim and give back to the friendly community. I've become a little intimidated with scripting but I'd really like to continue learning so I can really bring Mirai to life. So keep in mind that this is primarily a learning experience for me and I'm a bit of a procrastinator if you decide to follow my project. I decided to create this thread now since I'm at a basic, barebones, playable phase(atleast I think so anyways)and would like some feedback on my progress as well as the opportunity to find people willing to help or test down the line. Progress: Final model completed, although open to suggestions on appearanceFinal outfit decided, permissions grantedHome & schedule decided, testing consistencyBasic follower functionality~100 lines of spoken dialogue recorded, ~10 unused To Do: Finalize backstory & historyStart questlineWrite scriptRecord unknown # of linesFINISH!!! Undecided: Marriage capability/dialogue/quest, maybe if this mod is popular enoughDifferent body, model, etc versions; don't think I'm really patient or smart enough for it Multimedia & Other: OLD UPDATE! A much more proper video and a short trailer for her story line. Frozen Meets Game of Thrones, anyone? Anyways, I hope you fall in love with the idea and concept of Mirai so far as much as I am in love with bringing her to life. I welcome and appreciate any feedback, coments, wishes, ideas, questions, or anything else of that nature to help me achieve that goal.
