Hi TLDR at the end. So i have a a lot of mods + ENB, but with time and a lot of reading and tweaking i managed to make it quite stable. It still crash occasionally, but so far i only had 4 CTD in a 50+ hours playthrough. The only issue remaining was stuttering. Before last week i had a GTX 970 which was VRAM capped, so i always thought all those stutter was texture loading in and out constantly because of not having enough VRAM. This week i upgraded to a RTX 2070 which has 8GB VRAM. Most stutters are gone, but it still stutters when riding horses. I was lucky enough to have a save that is quite close to a rock and a few other spots where stutter always occured when riding past it, so i did a bit of troubleshooting. Initially i thought it was simply related to cell loading and moving fast on horse, but instead i narrowed it to being in 3rd person. I think it's worth mentioning that CPU, GPU, RAM and VRAM are not maxed/capped. Results of my test, where i load my save and go to those few spots where it stuttered on horse riding. Riding horse (3rd person): Stutters Moving on foot with increased speed through console (3rd person): Stutters Moving on foot at normal speed (3rd person): Stutters Moving on foot at increased speed (First person): No stutters Moving on foot at normal speed (First person): No stutters TLDR: I have micro stutter when moving along a road in 3rd person, whatever if i'm on horse or on foot. However, it doesn't happen in 1st person. CPU, GPU, RAM and VRAM are not maxed. Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it ?

Hi I currently play Oldrim heavily modded and (almost) fully stable. However, i'm building a new computer next week (going from a i5-4590, GTX970, 8GB RAM to a Ryzen 2700x, RTX2070, 16GB ram). Since i'll probably be tempted to modify my load order and install more mods that are more heavy on performances, i'm pondering the idea of completely moving from Oldrim to SSE. Now that more and more mods are getting ported to SSE, the idea is tempting. But rebuilding a load order from scratch is quite painful. Do you think moving from Oldrim to SSE worth all the trouble ? What are the benefits of SSE exactly ? What am i missing if i choose to stay in Oldrim ? Thanks

Issue with LoD models/texture showing up when close
salawow replied to salawow's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Alright so i took a few hours troubleshooting and searching about all that, and found out that this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/videos/4703/ (Warburg's 3D paper world map) was causing the issue. After uninstalling it i have played for a few hours without encountering the problem at all, neither in Falskaar nor in Skyrim. -
Issue with LoD models/texture showing up when close

Thanks for answer, although i checked and my VideoMemorySizeMb is already at 10240. -
Hello Sorry if my english is bad, it's not my native language. I have had that problem for some time now. From time to time, particularly often after fast traveling or when playing in some modded area (happening both in falskaar and wyrmstooth alot), LoD models and texture will be present up close. That picture explains it well: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img924/979/ftvVgb.png In the screenshot, you can see a bridge, with both the normal bridge model+texture AND the LoD bridge showing up at the same time. It can happen to anything, a mountain, a rock, a part of a house, a city door, anything It happens alot more when fast traveling, than when walking, although some modded area like falskaar have it happen every 2-3 minutes even when just walking. When it happens, the only way to fix it is to save, close the game, and reload the save. If i don't close the game, reloading the save doesn't fix it. Entering and exiting a building doesn't fix it either. I have a huge mod list, but no mods that touch LoD. I have no problem beside that, i don't have any crash and keep a constant 60fps. Any ideas ?

New computer, how far can i push it with mods ?
salawow replied to salawow's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
It's amazing how much i learn in this topic. Never heard about gaming glasses, i just googled it and it seems very interresting. I've seen gamers on some video wearing amber colored glasses like that a couple time, but i always thought it was just to look cool. Could be right about eyes. I have cataracts caused by massive cortisone medecine i had to take 10 years ago. At the time, my vision was reduced a little bit, but not enough for any need for glasses, according to my doctor. Haven't seen any doctor about my eyes since though. And about cars well, if i have to let's say look in a bag to search for something or look at a map more than 10 seconds i have instant nausea that can last for 30 minutes. About my screen, it's fairly old (5 years) and i didn't pay that much back then (180$ for a 22"), so i guess it's pretty cheap. I think it has 5ms and 60hz, don't know if it's good or if that matters though. -
New computer, how far can i push it with mods ?

Hello ! Thank you very much for your answers, that's very instructive. About Skyrim flora overhaul, i never really noticed there were any alternatives. This mod always stuck to my head as a mod that looks fantastic that i would like so much to play with. About ENBs, what is the best way to test how it looks and how much of a fps hit is has ? If i, let's say, stand in Riverwood and activate it, would it give me a good idea ? Or are there better area to do it ? I wouldn't want to fall in love with an ENB just to find later than it drops my FPS too much in some places. About all this FPS thing, i guess i'm more sensitive than the average to it. I never thought it was even possible for someone to like it better at 30-40 fps than 60, that's very interresting. To me, regarding fps it looks like that: 60 fps: Just perfect ! 55 fps: Not really a problem but i slightly notice it 50 fps: Something feel a little bit wrong, but it's still playable 45 fps: It definetly feels wrong. At this point i would consider lowering graphics to get more FPS 40 fps: It remove alot of pleasure from playing the game. Some headache start to appear 35 fps and less: Very very bad. Trying to play in this condition quickly gives me nausea (literally) However, the effect wear off a little bit if i'm far from a screen. So let's say i would play at 30 fps on a console on a couch 10 feet from TV, that would still feel wrong but it wouldn't give me all this headache/nausea thing, and i could still play it (although i don't enjoy it very much). -

Thank you  So if i understand, Skyrim Flora Overhaul would have a major impact on performance. If i decide to stay away from ENB, do you think i could play well at 60fps with skyrim flora overhaul ? And about ENBs, i didn't know there were performance ones. I always thought they were only all different flavour with exactly the same FPS hit, so that's good to know  Also, i was wondering something about uGridToLoad. Does it have a big impact on performance ? I always played at default 5, but playing at 7 would be nice. -
Hello ! I just built a new computer (only waiting for the graphic card now), and i'd like to know how far i can push skyrim with graphic intensive mods. My old computer (Q9550 with a HD6850 1gb was preventing me from using alot of mods) I know i could just try and see, but i'd like to install all my mods before my graphic cards arrives, while not mutilating my limited bandwidth with heavy texture mods i couldn't use anyway. Specs: I5-4590 3.3ghz 8gb ddr3 GTX 970 4gb Playing at 1920x1080 60hz I want to keep constant 60fps with none of those vram-loading microstutter (i was plagued by microstutter related to vram with my old hd6850 1gb) I am not looking for a mod list to use, but i'd like to know what kind of mods i should stay away from. Like ENBs, i never been able to use it with my old computer. I've read it is normal to have a massive fps drop with it, so is it possible with an ENB to stay at 60fps with my specs ? And about texture mods, can i just download every highest quality texture mods out there, or i should limit myself ? (That's pretty much the part that would kill my bandwidth, so i really don't want to make mistake about it) Same question about heavy mods like skyrim flora overhaul (or any other mods that improve the vegetation). And finally, same question about armor/weapon/characters texture/mesh improvements. Any advice would be very welcome ! :)

[Issue Talk and SOS] Stutter Problem and Freezing
salawow replied to Miloslolz's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Hello Honestly, i don't think your PC is good enough to handle all these mods. Your CPU is pretty old. You have a radeon 67xx (which one exactly ?). You may not have heavy texture replacer mods (like skyrim HD), but you still have some GPU/Vram hungry mods. You have 2gb RAM (realy ?). That is a MAJOR issue. Even if you close all non-essential programs running in background before playing skyrim, it leaves you less than 1GB for the game, which is really not enough for a modded skyrim. IMO, your options are: 1- Get rid of your ressource hungry and/or script intensive mods, like interresting NPC, SFO, smim, frostfall. Personally i'd begin with these ones and remove some others one by one and test how playable it is. 2- Spend some money and buy more memory for your PC, that would definetly help (and not only in skyrim). Getting a better graphic card could help as well, but it's very likely that your CPU will bottleneck any recent mid-range card. 3- Buy/build a new PC.- 1 reply

Whiterun Problems. CTD/Never Ending Loading Screens
salawow replied to Politrix's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Since you have a radeon 79xx, i assume the rest of your hardware is way more than enough to run skyrim. However it seems your graphic card drivers are very much out of date, updating it would definetly be a good thing. http://support.amd.com/en-us/download If updating the drivers doesn't fix it, i can't realy help more. I would say hardware failure, bad memory, etc, but the fact that it ONLY crash near whiterun kinda drag the problem out of a hardware problem. I hope someone else can help more. -

Whiterun Problems. CTD/Never Ending Loading Screens
salawow replied to Politrix's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
hmm that's very strange. If it crashes even in vanilla without any mods (assuming that you mean no mods, no modification to .ini, no skse, fresh install with no remaining texture, scripts, etc, from previous mods that stayed, absolutely nothing except official/vanilla stuff) you might try asking in the technical support forum instead of mod troubleshooting, since it's clearly not mod related. What is your PC configuration ? -

You said you tried running skyrim without mod and vanilla skyrim. Do you mean you still crash near whiterun even without any mods ? Edit: Just saying, when posting here you should not mention how you were playing before "buying" the game, and of course avoid mentioning where you got it, if you catch my meaning
