  1. Has there been any recent attempt to give ammunition items weight that displays in the inventory, so it's like New Vegas where you couldn't carry 10,000 bullets without any consequence? The only mods I found were very old and vanilla Fallout only...and not compatible with basically any darn thing.
  2. I would charge a deathclaw with a pistol to know just what the heck happened. About all I can speculate is either something in the FO3 engine or FOMM manipulated the data files...or random data corruption. Without any kind of crashlogs to sift through I have only blind amateur speculation. Also ran into a problem with FOOK2 and the Unofficial FO 3 Patch - Broken Steel; the latter overrides the "Follower.questscript" and in-game you get a warning from FOOK2's internal error-checking mechanism. I note that this same patch also has known problems with the TSC mod...
  3. @ Darkstar88 - When you were troubleshooting this and minimized your load order to what you posted in post #5, did you forget to reactivate the dlc? I left the DLC's inactive for troubleshooting purposes, but then forgot to de-act the Fook2 files for the DLC's. That said - problem has been definitely solved. I highly suspect that the main data files themselves had gotten borked for God-knows-what-reason. If anyone else has the problem I had, here are the steps I took to fix it. 1. Re-downloaded the Main and Data files from the Nexus site, plus the hotfixes, which at the time of this post is at http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/4448 2. Replaced all .esm and .esp files currently in my Fallout 3 "Data" folder. At this stage I noticed a size difference in the .esm that I had and the one that I was copying over it. 3. Copy-pasted data folders first from the main mod, then from the hotfix, letting them overwrite whatever each other. 4. (OPTIONAL) Re-copied the textures from NMC's texture mod. 5. Test-ran the game with nothing but the main FO3 esm and the Fook 2 files, not including ones dealing with DLC's. At this point I could enter the Saloon without issues. Re-activated mods (yes all 81 of them!), checked load order and re-arranged a couple. All runs well. I'm pretty sure the main Fook2 mod file got borked by something.
  4. IAmWeaselegend - what I was trying to do was track down a specific problem to a single mod. When I run FO3 with Fook2 enabled - even only the bare minimum data file - it crashes upon entering the saloon. When I run Fo3 without it, no crashy. That's about as specific as I can get due to my amateur modding status, unless there is SOME kind of crashlogger to figure out WTF is exactly choking the system. But it plain CTD's without even as much as a generic Windows error "sorry but this has to close" box. Reapplied the sound/mesh fixes in case I'd forgotten them, though upon looking neither of them have anything to do with Moriarty's Saloon. Turned on the hotfix esps. No dice. Current load order: Fallout3.esm CALIBR.esm FOOK2 - Main.ESM FOOK2 - [DIK] DLC Improvement Kit.ESM FOOK2 - Main.esp FOOK2 - [DIK] DLC Improvement Kit.esp FOOK2 - Main [Hotfix].esp FOOK2 - DIK [Hotfix].esp Total active plugins: 8 Total plugins: 81
  5. This happens even when starting a brand-new game, even if I do nothing after the tutorial but run straight for Megaton, talk to Sherrif whatsisface, and make a beeline for the saloon. EDIT: I just confirmed this and recorded it in Fraps, start to crash. Only two things active in FOMM are Fallout3.esm and Fook2 - Main.esm
  6. Title about says it all. I've pretty well isolated the problem to Fook2 by deactivating all other mods and DLC packs in FOMM. What happens is every time I try to enter through either door of Moriarty's Saloon, I get a crash. For some reason it doesn't happen if I use the cheat that lets you fly/walk anywhere...could this indicate some kind of bad ground mesh? My FO3 modding is very novice. More information gladly made available on request. PLEASE help me solve this...it's the only problem I have with Fook2 and it's very annoying as you almost have to enter to even continue the main storyline. I can get around that by catching the man on break just outside the Saloon, but it's still frustrating.
  7. Was looking on the Fallout wiki, and in browsing found the page for mirelurk cakes in the Anchorage War Memorial. One thought led to another until I was wondering if it would be possible at all for the player to actually make mirelurk cakes on his/her own. The short of my idea is this: when you find the recipe in-game you automatically get a 'schematic' for making mirelurk cakes. If you have the ingredients you can create "Raw Mirelurk Cakes", which can be baked in a stove to create the final product. After some searching I found the mod for modding in custom schematics, so that part is doable. "Activating" a stove to cook them might be a bit harder. Should it be that it only works with stoves that conceivably are working, like the one in the player's house in Megaton/Tenpenny Tower? And where it gets tricky is the ingredients in the recipe - if I'm not mistaken ALL of them would have to be added in, from vendors/locations that it was at least semi-realistic to find them. I know this may be a bit out there, but I'm a hardcore Fallout 3 RP'er as well as a food enthusiast, so this is really exciting to me. Is anyone else intrigued by this idea?
  8. "Hey out there in the Capital Wasteland! This is (not) Three Dog, bow wow, with something unusual. See, *I* need *you* listeners to give me some advice for a change..." Okay, acting aside, here's the scoop: I'm about to start a playthrough of FO3 focused on realism and in-character actions - what I would really try to do and say if I were that kid fresh out of the vault. I've been scared as all heck about putting videos up for fear of making a laughingstock of myself, but I finally took the plunge. I put up as a test of start-to-finish recording, from recording the video in FRAPS to re-encoding it in a format that isn't 4 GB for a few minutes (not joking), to uploading it to Youtube and adding a description. The two big questions of the hour are: 1. Do I have all the audio volumes correct to where nothing is overwhelming or inaudible? (I hope so...tweaking all those !@#% different audio levels in Windows and in the game was a nightmare) 2. Where would be the best place to post new episode links, made up as a daily 'journal entry' from the Vault Dweller? I've been a regular on the Nexus site, though not the forums, for many years now and am very thankful for the one-stop-shop you provide for Fallout 3 mods. I'll just be sitting here with fingers crossed that I've gotten the first step right...
  9. Before you do anything else, you MUST install want the FOSE utility, which is required for many advanced modding scripts, and the FOMM mod manager for activating/deactivating mods. I would highly recommend FOOK2 as an "all in one" mod package. It has just so many different things it's not even funny. With no disrespect to the previous posters I'd really encourage you to just stick with FOOK2 first, then add other mods if you still want more. Additionally, if you're seriously into realism immersion check out Imps More Complex Needs to simulate nutritional needs and Enhanced Weather to...well...actually have any kind of weather changes.
