Hmm, player.resurrect effectively kills the player, thus removing all outstanding effects, and then revives them with only race and armour bonuses in effect.
Player.dispellallspells should remove all registered active effects that aren't armour bonuses, it sometimes strips race effects too. Did you try using the command while the mod was installed? If the mod was not installed, the command wouldn't have the ring enchantments listed as removable active effects.
Have you saved after removing the bonuses through player.resurrect? And then loaded that save? If not, try it. I see little reason why the effects should return.

Blender is always a pain, to install and to use. Just keep trying. It might be you have installed Python 3 instead of Python 2. I actually have 3 different versions of Python installed.
Are you a third level student? If so, you can go here and download Autodesk 3ds Max for free by registering yourself. 3ds is much easier to install and use, and the NifTools for it are a simple install program. The only thing to remember is to get the 2012 edition instead of 2013, because NifTools only works up to 2012. Also, the download is ~ 3 GB so it takes a while.
Good luck with it. I use 64-bit programs so I can't really help debug your issue here. I never came across it before. Sorry :(

No idea what's causing the flying trees, but I did spot that you don't have the patch for Sounds of Skyrim. There's a bug fix for it, which turns the esp's into esm's.

I learned how to make custom armour via this tutorial. The latest version of Blender isn't compatible with NifTools, so perhaps you should try using Blender 2.49b, which is.
may also help you here.I believe that your problem is that you haven't specified the mask as armour/ clothing, nor have you specified where it would be equipped, ie you did not tell the mask it was to sit on the player's face.
The following is a custom mesh for a dragon priest mask.
http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/2339/capturewvb.png
See how it is placed on the y-axis relative to the player's spine and head? The tutorial you followed did not include this, because that tutorial was to create a miscellaneous object, like a kettle, which just sits looking pretty in the game world.
Hopefully, this clears things up a little for you. Good luck :)

Word of warning, you're not supposed to bump threads. In fact, I believe there is a sticky at the top of the forum under the name "Do not bump threads!".
Anyway, try the command player.dispelallspells
If that doesn't work, I would reinstall the mod, equip and then unequip the rings to remove the enchantments from the player, and then uninstall the mod.

The other files were SkyrimEditor.ini and SkyrimEditorPrefs.ini, correct? Then you edited the wrong file in the wrong location.
In Windows Skyrim.ini is located at C:\Users\[uSER]\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim.
You looked for it in your C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim folder and found the Skyrim_default.ini file, which is the wrong one. I'd suggest removing the line from that file, because that is the game's backup default file. If you were to delete your Skyrim.ini file, the game would recreate it based on Skyrim_default.ini

I hope this doesn't sound rude, but you're going to have to do one of two things:
- Please try going through all the existing/ stickied threads relating to mod-related crashes, or
- Having done all that to no avail, please give us more information as to what makes your particular situation unique so we can begin to diagnose the problem.
I must ask, did you read (and I mean actually READ, not skim) the installation readme's for the mods you installed? Have you considered they may be incompatible with each other? Have you used BOSS/ Wrye Bash do assist your load order and to diagnose potential problems? Are you attempting to run Skyrim at settings beyond the capabilities of your machine?
I've posted a comprehensive guide to crash diagnosis here. The thread also contains links to other useful information.
Good luck, but I must stress that reading the myriad of existing threads is absolutely crucial, and you really should only post (with comprehensive details as to what's wrong, your setup, the mods in question, etc) once you have already done so! This is to reduce repetition of details, since crashes are depressingly common issues the community faces every day.
- Please try going through all the existing/ stickied threads relating to mod-related crashes, or

Oh, one last thing I forgot to mention last night. One that might be very helpful in diagnosis:
Enable Papyrus logs by adding the following to Skyrim.ini:
[Papyrus]
bEnableLogging=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation=1
Next time you crash, go to C:\Users\[uSER]\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Logs and open Papyrus.0.log. Down near the bottom of the log, there should be lines with the events
"VM is freezing...
VM is frozen
Reverting Game..."
or something similar. Just above those lines will be the name of the script executed which caused the problem.

He doesn't give me the option for his sword quest either.
Interestingly, he also doesn't give me the "you know..." option with UFO.

Okay good luck with it :) I've been editing my post above since I didn't realise you had replied, so take a look. Do you use the Windows defragmentation tool? It has a reputation of being very bad compared to third-party defrag tools such as Auslogics Defrag Tool or Smart Defrag. And get CCleaner to help with your registry and general system cleanup. This, of course, presumes you don't already have a service in place, such as TuneUp Utilities, which I use.
You have a good setup, so there shouldn't be any problems at that end. Then again, I can run Skyrim on Ultra with 2k Textures, but I can't run it with the low resolution of W.A.T.E.R., so it's difficult to say.
Oh, and if you must uninstall, remember that some mods have very specific uninstallation instructions which you need to follow, else it corrupts the game.
A final tip I have picked up, is to back up your scripts folder with a frequency bordering on paranoia, as too often it gets messed up. Or, maybe it's just me. At any rate, if you get to a point where your Data folder is back to vanilla, delete the scripts folder, restore it via steam's verify option, and start backing it up!
-
Okay, I understand your pain, I've been there myself. It really has taken me days sometimes to sort things out. Some of the things I say will probably sound really obvious, but I'm going to include them just in case. You never know.
The first thing everyone seems to recommend is to verify your steam cache. This is on the off-chance that an integral game file has gotten corrupted.
Secondly, with many mods it is wise to defragment your hard drive (unless it's solid state in which case, don't!), because large bsa archives may have become fragmented, and even many loose files may have become scattered around your hard disk, increasing load times, and possibly even making your CPU unable to find and retrieve them in time for the game load.
If you can remember what the last couple of mods you installed before these crashes began occurring, it might be possible to narrow it down to one of them.
Get BOSS or Wrye Bash to reorganise your load order, and scrutinise the result to see if there are simply incompatibilities which cause crashes.
Go to C:\Users\[uSER]\AppData\Local\Skyrim and open plugins.txt. Search for duplicate entries, particularly of Skyrim.esm. This used to happen on occasion, and can cause issues in-game. You'll need to enable The "view hidden files and folders" option on your machine. I don't know where plugins.txt is located on a mac.
What are your specs? Terrain and water tiles disappearing are often a sign that you've run out of VRAM. This is especially true if you have many high resolution textures installed. I myself found I can't run the game properly with W.A.T.E.R. installed, at any resolution. You can use Optimizer Textures (link) or SMCO (link) to optimize your textures. SMCO can also optimize meshes and bsa archives, but can also cause problems such as missing meshes, so be wary. Optimizer Textures is slower, but much simpler to use and has never caused problems.
Speaking of specs, try lowering the game settings, you may be attempting to run Skyrim at a higher setup than your machine can handle.
Start a new game after doing all this, as save files contain a list of all mods installed at their creation and running the game with a different mod list often can cause problems.
If none of this works, try the following procedure I devised, which minimizes the time needed to test all mods individually. First of all though, back up your data folder. I believe that you can preserve your original load order since the latest release of NMM allows for multiple load orders. I haven't tried using it though, but if it works, all the better.
- Say you have 100 mods total. (This is for simplicity, the real number of your mods is completely arbitrary).
- They are arranged in a certain order in NMM, which helps. Install the first half of them, ie 50 for the example.
- Start the game and see if you encounter problems. If you do, then the culprit is one of these 50 mods. If you don't, then the culprit is one of the other 50 mods you didn't install.
- Uninstall the mods again.
- You now have 50 suspect mods, in a nice list.
- Install the first half of these 50, ie the first 25.
- Once again, start the game and see if you encounter problems. If you do, the culprit is one of these 25. If not, it's one of the other 25.
- Repeat this process, cutting down on mods by a factor of two, until you are left with two mods. You can now easily test to see which one is the culprit.
Using this procedure, you cut out possible mods 50% at a time. While it may seem cumbersome, mathematically it will save you time.
Of course, this procedure relies on you being happy that all your mods are compatible with each other, which is why you must organise using BOSS/ Wry Bash first and testing.
I do hope some of this will help. This is a link to a site which contains solutions to some crashes/ freezes/ steam errors/ audio problems/ fps/ other general bugs which commonly occur in Skyrim also.
Good luck, and I hope this helps you out. If not, the only other thing I can really suggest without knowing more is that you look for a pattern in the crashes.
Ask yourself:
- Do the crashes occur in a particular area only?
- Do the crashes occur after a particular amount of time?
- Do the crashes occur in time with a particular event? Ie, do the crashes occur when it begins to rain/ snow, or when a particular npc/ kind of npc starts talking/ interacting with the environment?
- Do the crashes occur only when around a particular thing? Such as a forge, group of trees, river/ other water body, or anything else?
- Are the crashes sudden and with no explained error, more like a quit-to-desktop than like a crash?
- Is an error message given, such as BEX or AppHangB1?
- Do the crashes happen only when a new cell loads, such as when running down the road from Riverwood to Whiterun?
- Do the crashes happen when a cell loads (such as in the line above) if I am looking at the ground?
Heh, you can tell I spend a lot of time doing this, probably more than I spend actually playing the game itself! Anyway, good luck, and please let me know how you get on. If any of this helps, let me know what part it was which helped.
If none of this helps, you need to give more information. Post your specs, Skyrim.ini, SkyrimPrefs.ini and load order (as attachments or spoilers if you can, to cut down on the size of the post) and maybe more efficient/ accurate help can be given. Because of the magnitude of different setups, and of mods, it is difficult to given an all-encompassing answer without tailoring it with specificity.
- Say you have 100 mods total. (This is for simplicity, the real number of your mods is completely arbitrary).

Hello again ;)
You can merge esp's using TESVSnip.
- Open all esp's in TESVSnip. You can select multiple esp's by Ctrl+Selecting them in the Open window.
- Select and drag the GRUP lists from one esp and drag them into another: http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/351/capturezqt.png
- Delete (from the TESVSnip window!) the esp you took the GRUP lists from.
- Repeat for the other 14 esp files.
- When you've saved the amalgamated esp file, open it in the Creation Kit.
- A message will appear warning you about file header mismatch. Click Yes to allow the CK to correct the error.
I'm not sure about how to merge bsa files though...
EDIT: Oops, misread your post. Seems you already know how to do this!
- Open all esp's in TESVSnip. You can select multiple esp's by Ctrl+Selecting them in the Open window.

I have this problem too with Chris57's male body. Equipping a custom lower body armour render the forearms invisible just like what happened to the legs in the first picture.
-
This is something I would like to know about as well.
-
Bump for luck :D
Google isn't revealing anything as to why my custom mesh+texture, which now renders perfectly in NifSkope, is causing the game to quit abruptly :psyduck:
If anyone can help, then please do!
EDIT: I fixed the crash problem by properly deriving the _1.nif from my _0.nif. However, in game, and in the creation kit render window, the model is invisible. Everything else works just fine. Any clues? This is getting a little frustrating now but I am absolutely determined to get it :wallbash:
EDIT 2: It looks like my mesh has no bone weights on it. Would that cause the whole thing to be rendered invisible? And is there some way of adding the bone weights in? Some way, that isn't by hand, because that's thousands of lines to edit.
-
You are correct, thank you. It was a simple fix.
However, now that that is fixed, my custom mesh and texture render perfectly in NifSkope, and everything seems correct, however when I go to equip it in-game to test it, I get an instant CTD with no error message. More of an exit to desktop than a crash. It's not the armature, and it's not the vertex shaders. What else could be going wrong?

Hi everyone,
I thought I'd finally try my hand at meshing, and chose something relatively simple to do. I was following the instructions here, and got the mesh(es) through Blender just fine, or so I thought. However, when I got to adding the textures in NifSkope, all I got was this solid block of colour:
http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/5060/capturevec.png
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd be very grateful.
After reading over the full guide, I may have missed the step about adding a material and UV maps. Could this be the problem? I didn't change the clothes mesh at all though, so it's UV map should be the same as the one I built my texture off. And even if it wasn't, more than one colour should show up, right?

I hope I'm not about to sound rude here, but... that's all really obvious. I mean, one would expect a higher value for those settings to improve the quality! And lowering my draw distance really isn't going to fix a problem on the land 5 yards in front of me.
Also, stepping down the resolution to the next appropriate 16:9 setting actually made it worse, as well as lowering framerate. The game seems to prefer my native resolution and that's okay with me.
Skyrim's autodetect is quite useless, as it chooses randomly between low and medium, but in fact my card handles ultra really well, provided I turn triple buffering on in the Control Panel, and lower AA and AF by a few steps, which I don't mind. Having the edge of a roof looking microscopically square is just fine with me. That, and a few choice tweaks of card and of ini, has the game running between 45-55 fps all the time. The only problem my game has are these silly lines.
Anyway, I discovered a solution on my own.
In SkyrimPrefs.ini I changed the values of
iBlurDeferredShadowMask from 1 to 32, and
fShadowBiasScale to 0.5000 1.5000
I've dropped about 1fps, but the lines seem to have stopped appearing. Not sure which particular value worked, but it has.
Thanks for trying to help though.

Hi, thank you for the reply, but I'm not sure I understand.
My desktop (and in game) resolution is 1366 x 768, its native and highest resolution.
The detail quality for all options (except shadow) is at max.
I am using a laptop, so upgrade options are limited.
I stepped up the AA and AF actually, with only a 2 frame drop in FPS, but that didn't improve the lines.
I have a NVIDIA Geforce GT 330M Series card, with 1 GB CUDA and 2171 MB TurboCache. While this may seem underpowered, it runs almost all games very well, surprisingly so.
Now, I don't understand what you mean by "step down", are you suggesting I use a lower resolution than 1366 x 768. If so, how much lower?
There is a false windowed mod for Skyrim, however it does not run correctly on my computer. It crashes most of the time, and when it doesn't, it only displays the top left quarter of the screen.
Also, it should be noted that the lines disappear when I am close to them, but remain at far distances. Could it simply be a shader issue?
I shall investigate this Skyrim Configurator and see what it can do.
Thanks again.
(For moderators: This really isn't a solved problem, so please leave the thread open for now in case somebody else can help me! Thank you!)

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this visual problem I'm having, and how to fix it.
http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/4702/screenshot53908.png
It's not just on snow either. Often I get it on hills and sometimes on footpaths.
Is it something to do with aliasing or anisotropic filtering?
Any advice on how to get rid of it would be great.
P.S. I can't really afford to bring AA or AF higher than 2x due to framerate.
-
So, nobody is able to make an install script?
-
If you're sure it's the FXAA Post Process Injector that's causing the problem, try looking for the following in the Skyrim root folder and removing them:
injFX_Settings.h
installscript.vdf
shader.fx
FXAA_Tool.exe
and the folder "injFX_Shaders".
In the "Data" folder, there may also be a folder called "shadersfx", which may also be causing a problem, but I don't know if it's related to the PPI.
Also, if you have to reinstall Skyrim, make sure to back up your saves, and uninstall all mods added by NMM.
-
Hi all,
I've just finished making a mod, and it comes with a few options. Rather than uploading all these options separately, I'd like to make a scripted installer for it, so that they user can decide which option they want to use when they are installing the mod. How do I do this? I've looked around, but have been unable to find an answer.
Thanks

Hey all,
My mod appears to have some strange thing with the tags section.
Originally it had no tags, then suddenly gained 99 rep in one particular area. While the area is applicable, I don't know whether it's supposed to have 99 or not.
If I hit the down arrow, it jumps to -9, but no lower. If I hit the up arrow, it goes to 99 again, but no higher.
Is there a way to reset this? I don't want it to cause anyone any trouble...
Thanks
