  1. The combat was really fun, I thought. I enjoyed some of the delicious sequences where my Warrior would kill a Dragon or a huge Troll. But the characters themselves lacked quite a bit of depth and I just didn't find the story that appealing. Lack of freedom too, obviously, as other people mentioned.
  2. Shame, I was planning on using the Graphics Extender (still am, though). Is the Morrowind Code Patch kind of like Oblivion's "Unofficial Patch"?
  3. This is what happens when I do that, just so we're on the same page. The lower bottom of the screen is cut off. Are you implying you can play windowed without this problem?
  4. Old enough to know better and young enough to do it again. :D
  5. You talking about with Oblivion? Because I don't see any viable way to play in windowed mode. It's not like in World of Warcraft where you can play a frameless, maximized windowed version. ...or is it?
  6. Sounds good, I'll check out that site when the time comes. Namely, I mean to ask about alt+tabbing. CAN you alt tab with Morrowind? Because the typical case with Oblivion is it WILL crash to desktop. Maybe not when I alt+tab back in-game, but it WILL crash at some point after I've alt+tabbed out once. Also to note, auto & quick-saving seems to be the cause of not only my problem, but for a large portion of players as well. Loading another save slot while in-game leads to a crash every single time also, so...do any of these problems exist in Morrowind I wonder?
  7. Picking up Morrowind Game of the Year Edition soon ... I wanted to jump right into it after I've finished Oblivion. I've been reading up some of the Lore in-game with books and spent quite a bit of time on the UESPWiki - and I've heard that Morrowind gives better emphasis on story. I've heard a lot of people complain about how Oblivion has been dumbed down for the console kiddies, which I can relate all too well to. I've always been more of a classic gamer myself, and I am aware of the drastic difference of gameplay Morrowind will be offering me. But I was wondering about the stability of Morrowind in comparison to Oblivion. Granted my current game is decently modded out (no real overhauls though), but even without mods, Oblivion still seems pretty freakin' unstable. How does Morrowind compare?
  8. Oh, HAHA. Yeah, that works. Before when I remember being able to save I must have had the console open. Thanks :D
  9. As in SaveGame <name>? Yeah, that doesn't work either. Tells me "You can't save the game right now."
  10. Before I bought my GOTY Deluxe off Steam, I remember being able to Save during the ShowRaceMenu and reload, rather than clicking "Done" and having my stats or levels reset. Now I can't. Did this get patched, or something? If so, is there any work around for this? I guess it's not a huge deal, but I would like the option to change my appearance whenever I want.
  11. So this is a pretty commonly known bug, then? Oh well. I guess it's not that bad. Encourages me to keep going no matter what happens instead of rage-loading when something bad happens :O
  12. I ... don't understand. Is it a problem on my end? 'Cause all the sudden, this happens. I save in different slots too...incredibly often. None of the others seem to be any different. I found out later that it even happens when I try to exit to the main menu while in-game. So I'm basically stuck in a save game until I QQQ and reload the entire client, then load my game.
  13. I can get in-game just fine. The problem is when I load a game save while I'm in-game. For example, I load up Save 258, then hit ESC > Load > Save 257 = CRASH. Every single time. This crash doesn't occur unless I'm loading a Game Save which requires a loading screen. Any ideas? I was recently having a lot of crashing issues with Autosaves and Quicksaves (when traveling), so I turned off my Autosaving options and deleted my Auto/Quicksaves. Haven't had a crash since, but now this stupid problem has risen.
  14. I use the Realistic Leveling mod, so the "5 Point Bonus" is irrelevant to me. I just want to know if I was wasting my time or not with Restoration as a Combat character. Thanks for the suggestions in #3...I'll check it out.
  15. Been playing a Warrior-type class for a little while (Level 16, with Realistic Leveling mod enabled) who happens to have Restoration as well as Illusion. Combat Favored Attributes are Strength and Endurance. Restoration seems nice (especially spells that restore Fatigue when I need it), but I don't have much magicka at all really. Just 84. Every Restoration spell that's half-decent costs way too much to even be worth it. I have almost 400 HP, so a cost of 52 Magicka to heal me for 25 HP ... sucks. I realize that getting my Restoration to 100 would help out with the costs, but that's not going to happen for a while. I figured Restoration would be useful while I was leveling, not be only useful at the end of the journey. Or are HP-restoring spells just not supposed to be useful in this game for a Warrior? I'm not asking for the ability to spam heals on myself...but maybe one or two effective heal would be nice in tight situations. I guess what I'm trying to ask is ... how can I make Restoration effective with my class?
