  1. I definitely agree with you about aesthetic of medieval armours in Skyrim. Something like GOT (that obviously is a fictional work): plain armors enriched with household banners and so on. 'Epic' but still functional  I am personally inclined to see the Empire (in Skyrim) more like the HRE in late middle ages, because of the somewhat ideal continuation of political asset. I totally like your idea about Nords and various european influences in Empire armours! I'll upload some other illustration in the evening and tomorrow. Just for curiosity, and because I'd like to start doing that; how long have you been making models for Skyrim?
  2. Thanks for your kindness; it seems that nuked92 has come back with a lot of beautiful new images! Personally I think that sallet (with or without bevor), while being my favourite helmet, isn't lore-friendly. Same thing happens about the so-called 'maximilian armour', 'gothic plate', 'milanese' and so on. These are too advanced in technology for a world like Skyrim, and maybe useless, because of the orography that doesn't permit large battles (field battles?) and because knights are footed (in the game, at least). Here are some pics: English Knight 13th Century #1 English Knight 13th Century #2 English Knight 14th Century #1 English Knight 14th Century #2 English Knight 14th Century #3 English Knight 15th Century #1 English Knight 15th Century #2 These are from Osprey Warrior Series. Tell me if you need something more specific :whistling: Ah, and congratulation for the two last great models, both are wonderful.
  3. Hi, I'm a medieval history (and warfare) amateur and the overhaul project of this mod really made my day! The Oblivion vanilla armors were a bit more realistic (the Steel one, for example). The armours in Skyrim are just ridicolous, both in dimension and in protection. Maybe the only one I find lore-friendly and nonetheless fairly good is the Steel Plate armour. Your 'credo' (I'm italian, like the word itself  ) is, IMO, of great importance for the Skyrim aestethic that (reguarding armours and weapons) seems clumsy and breaks the immersion. The new models that you've done are top notch and I hope that they'll ready soon. I can upload some Osprey (and other books to) pictures and illustrations of armours...Do you need particular geographical references (e.g. French or HRI armours over other)? A nice idea (IMO) would be to change the armours in line with the near countries...Like the border cities armours. Make the Falkreath armours a bit more Cyrodiilic adding, for example, a barbute for the helm. And so on... Sorry for my english and have a nice day!
  4. Basically yes but when you create and install an omod with OBMM it does everything for you but sorting the mod order. It works nice because you can active/deactivate any mod with a click of the mouse once the omod is created with OBMM. Great. I'm uninstalling Oblivion with all the DLCs, patches and mods now, to clean everything. Another question: translating the Oblivion english copy to an italian one with an .esp mod AFTER installing mods (like OOO) will cause conflicts? Also my SI copy is in italian: can I install it behind the Oblivion english (translated or not) copy? :turned: EDIT: And...What about Archive Invalidation? :pinch: I wish i could help you with the language thing but I have no idea. As far as archive invalidation goes you should just be able to activate it through OBMM under Utilities. Once is enough unless you run into problems. Use bben's reinstall procedure to make sure you don't have any problems with the re-install. Thank you for your answer, I find it very useful. Now I'm re-installing Oblivion without Expansion and DLCs...I hope it'll work this time!  Okay, I made it with some mods installed over the "vanilla" Oblivion (no Expansion, DLCs, translation). Anyway BOSS won't work...When I run it, it appears an error like "BOSS cannot read masterlist.txt"...Where can I download it?

  6. Hum...So I don't need Bash or something like that? And what about BOSS (and BOMM), it works like a "mods organizator", isn't it? I put BOSS folder (with .exe; .bat etc.) in my Oblivion/Data but when I run it tells me that "masterlist.txt is impossible to read", do you know why? So basically I need Oblivion ( ), some Mods (.omod, to run with OBMM; .esp / .esm, to place in the Oblivion/Data folder; textures, etc. to re-place the folders in Oblivion/Data), OBMM, OBSE for the complex scripts, BOSS for organize the load order and...Nothing more? (correct me if I'm wrong :D) Which are the most suited graphic (terrain / skin textures) and visual (hud, menu, etc.) mods in your opinion? (like QTP3 etc.) Thanks for your help
  7. Hi everyone! I'm new to TES world and to Oblivion (mods) world in particular (this is my first game of the series! ) pre-scriptum: Ah, I'm sorry for my basic english but it's not my mother language (i'm italian). I write this post because I want to play Oblivion w/ mods...You might say: "It's simple, just search the forum or google it". Well, i did it. I know what a .esp or .esm file is and some basic of OBMM. The problem is that I saw a lot of guides/tutorials about BOSS, BOMM, OBMM, Bash, OBSE, etc., but i can't clearly understand what I need (I mean, in which order) to do. This is the fifth time I uninstall and re-install Oblivion (I've the eng version, while SI is in italian) w/ correlate Official Expansion and plugins, because of in-game errors due to wrong installed (or loaded) mods. I'm becoming a bit frustrated. But I don't want to play the "vanilla" Oblivion... :wallbash: So my questions are: 1) Is there a guide that clearly explains how to use OBMM and such; load order etc. (not to simple, not to difficult)? 2) I just need some major graphic and aesthetic mods (terrain texture, water, horizon, PC & NPCs textures / sound improvements etc.) and some gameplay mods (I think the one I have is called OOO; uncapping levels and such), not tweaking .ini file or thing that I can't manage to do; so what is the best way to do that? 3) Which programs I need to successfully install those mods (e.g. I actually use OBMM; Wrye Bash seems too difficult or cryptic for now)? I also need a complete guide to them... (e.g. I can't run BOSS because it can't read masterlist.txt). 4) The whole "thing" appears a bit confused to me, so I'd be grateful if someone could explain me how it works (e.g. the order to follow, the install methods and so on). Thanks to anyone that might help me in a such "oblivious" quest.
