Thanks. I can only find this for LOD fog http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/25052/? but it's not what I'm looking for. Any help?

I've been playing Oblivion for many years, but always on PS3. I've only recently just got a moderately good PC. My specs are: Windows 7 64bit Intel Core i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs) ~3.4GHz 8GB RAM NVIDIA GeFroce GT 640 I can run Oblivion at almost max settings with 60fps at the highest and around 30fps in heavily forested areas. Firstly I was just wondering if you guys could recommend some graphics enhancing mods which won't deteriorate the framerate too much, if possible? Also, one thing that really does annoy me is the weird fog that just makes mountains/cities/hills in the distance look blank even though I have maximum view distance. Is there any way to fix this? And any mods to solve the ugly faces would be awesome. Also could you recommend any other mods? Particularly for maybe the level scaling and combat? Many thanks.

I've played Skyrim for a total of nearly 300 hours on different saves and had little to no problems, but recently (ever since I downloaded Dragonborn and Dawnguard, which work fine (could be a coincidence)) I've had this annoying glitch where the world map menu is absoloutely full of opaque fog so I can't see any of the terrain which makes navigation difficult, and the actual playable map has parts covered in unusal fog. Does anyone know how to solve this annoying issue? Thanks!

Well hello everyone. My name's Will and I'm 15 years old. It's been a while since I last came to these forums. Just to give you guys a little backstory, Oblivion was my first TES game (must have about 250 hours game time), then while waiting for Skyrim (which I now have 300 hours on lol) I played a bit of Morrowind. Now, it was very different and much more challenging than Oblivion, but I was still very intrigued by it. I only managed to play around 20 hours and eventually abandoned it because of school work. I only just explored a bit of Balmora and a glimpse of Vivec City. But now I want to get back into it after I watched this video which inspired me: I want to see if I can get this graphics overhaul mod without destroying my game like last time. So I would be very grateful if any of you guys could point me out to the location of this overhaul 2012 mod. Thanks a lot :) Oh and my specs are: NVidia GeForce 8600 GT Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40 GHz 2.39 GHz 8GB RAM 64 bit Operating System

Better Performance when using Fraps???

What's an SSD? (forgive my noobiness) -
So I can run Skyrim on my PC. My specs are: NVidia GeForce 8600 GT Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40 GHz 2.39 GHz 8GB RAM 64 bit Operating System I run Skyrim at 1280 x 800 (letterbox) and it has a constant FPS of around 40. I am very happy about this. But when I use Fraps the frame rate drops to around 20. No me gusta. Can anyone give me any advice on how to increase FPS WHILE STILL FILMING IN FULL SIZE? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :D

Morrowind's map, NPCs and quests with Skyrim's engine/gameplay/graphics would be f***ing amazing.

Most of you are probably aware of the Tamriel Rebuilt project in Morrowind, where modders created areas of other provinces according to lore. Do any of you think that with Skyrim's amazing engine, and with the release of the Creation Kit, that this project will be restarted but using Skyrim as the tool?

Hm, I've done quite a bit of scouring these sites as well as the Imperial names section on UESP, but can't get anything I really like. I mean, the names for my other accounts are epic; Argamir the Nord, Umaril the High Elf (in honour of Umaril the Ayleid) and Athârion the Wood Elf. I just can't think of a truly epic Imperial one. I tried using Google Translate using English-Latin, typing things like Champion of the North, but nothing quite suits it...

Whoops, I meant beat the Stormcloaks lol I worded that wrong XD
-
lol I meant the war with the Stormcloaks as in beat the Stormcloaks, I worded that really badly. Thanks for the help guys.
-
I'm thinking of making a 4th account which will be an Imperial who destroys the Dark Brotherhood, is always the good guy, wins the civil war against the Stormcloaks etc. Can anyone help me come up with some really badass Imperial/Roman/Latin names for my character (he'll be a heavy armour sword and shield user btw)? Much appreciated.

But seriously, have you seen all the people running around with sleevless tunics and/or topless? It's insane.
-
I honestly don't understand why so many of the armour sets/clothes are so revealing. It's freezing in Skyrim, yet people wear sleevless tunics and shorts/skirts. Look at Hide armour as well, it's the kind of thing you'd find Brazilian gimps wearing in Rio de Janiero. Plus there are so many bandits, including Argonians which are cold-blooded (I repeat, COLD-BLOODED) running around the tundra topless. I mean, what the f*** were Bethesda thinking? Instead of Skyrim's apparel looking like a bunch of Vikings missed their flight to Barbados, I was expecting thick fur coats made from wolf and bear belts, with capes and cloaks, and no skin showing, like the true apparel that would be worn in freezing conditions.

The lush 'heart of Africa' feel is what I was getting at! Summerset Isle isn't full of jungles, it's full of mysterious woods, forests and grasslands. And like FordPerfect said, we all thought that Skyrim would be full of bland snow tundras. How very wrong we were. Just imagine Elsweyr's deserts and jungles with waterfalls under a blue cloudless sky, and imagine the sky at night!

Now this topic has been done to death, but I just had an idea. Elder Scrolls VI is at least another 4-5 years away, but It's still worth discussing. So, I was thinking that the genre and feel needs a bit of a change. People will get bored of the European Medieval fantasy genre quite quickly. We need something exotic, like Morrowind was. So my proposal is... ...Elsweyr. Now most of you are probably thinking, "But who would want to play in a land full of kitties?" Well I asked myself the same thing. Well look at it like this; the Nords in TES IV Oblivion and before weren't cool at all; they were ugly, dumb, bigoted and the women were manly. Now with TES V Skyrim, the Nords have been given a whole new feel to them. They're no longer the filthy, drunk bigots we used to know. They're now the honourable, good looking, passionate land-striding knights of the lands of old. Do you see what I mean? So, this could be done with the Khajiits in TES VI Elsweyr. Instead of them being the sly, back-stabbing, cheating immigrants, they could also be turned into the proud, honourable, respectable warriors of the deserts and rainforests. Instead of talking with the accent of a cross breed between a Mexican and an Arab, they could have just an American/English accent. Besides, the only reason they speak in such an odd manner in the other TES games is because they lack fluency with Nordic and Nibenean, etc. The main reason I'd like to see Elsweyr, like I said earlier, is because of the different feel. Imagine; instead of hardy, rugged, cold mountains, we could have beautiful, orange, sand-scaped flat-lands, with vast waterfalls and intricate rocky formations. Instead of heavily built up towns, we could have peaceful and spacious villages, with comfortable huts. Tents would replace shacks. From deserts ro rainforests, there would also be ancient Khajiiti dungeons; how fascinating! So could anyone please discuss this with me, I'd love to share ideas around. :)

Who's Your Favorite Skyrim Character?
capperz412 replied to SlimShadyIzMe's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Faendal is my favourite ^.^ -
Well I really enjoy the finishing move animations, but the one thing that ruins it for me are when it's in slow motion and it makes a really horrible, dirty, slowed down 'V.A.T.S-esque' sound effect (e.g. the blade sound or gore). Could anyone perhaps disable that? I'm a noob at computing so I can't do it myself. Any help?

People are getting bored of the over-used European Medieval theme, so I think we need something exotic like Morrowind again. I thought about Elsweyr; deserts, jungles and tribal warriors would be awesome, but I'd get tired of Khajiits. Plus, I think the general public would ridicule a game full of furries. ALSO it would attract a fur-fag community, and that's the last thing we want. So then I pondered Black Marsh, but came to the conclusion that dark, bleak marshes would just get old. Plus there'd be too many Argonians. Don't get me wrong, I love Argonians, but like with the Khajiits I'd get sick of them. We've already been to High Rock (it's too similar to Skyrim anyway) and Hammerfell seems quite interesting, but I don't know. So where could we go that's exotic, mysterious and fits with the storyline and would be a huge opportunity for Lore? ...Summerset Isle. That and maybe Valenwood in one game. We literally know nothing of Summerset Isle and with the Thalmor and everything, it'd fit in well. In Elder Scrolls VII, if the series is still alive, they should spend a good 5-7 years (like they did with Morrowind) to make a game in Akavir. They'd have a helluva lot of time to write Lore and create the races of Akavir; the Kamal, Tsaesci, Tang Mo and Ka Po' Tun. They'd also have plenty of time to create the cities and backstories, and a plotline. And within that time they'd possible be able to revolutionise like they did with Morrowind again :) Give me your thoughts on this please :)

My thoughts exactly. -
Gollum is Falmer lol

Now that's an interesting idea! :D

Simple answer = turn difficulty down. I don't see what your problem is, though. I play on Expert and it's pretty easy.
