  1. Exactly what I was thinking, from a couple people saying hi at the basic one, to the worshippers at the middle one kneeling in your presence, and finishing off with bad-sh*t crazy cultists who are more than happy for you to shout them into a wall
  2. it wouldn't be a re-texture since they have fur I believe you'd have to make a replacement mesh with a "skinned" appearance as for things like missing legs, the animal would disappear briefly then reappear, since the mesh was changed, like when you take the heads of the glemoral witches. As for whether or not it's possible, with some scripting and new meshes/textures, it's perfectly possible
  3. Very fair observation, I do admit that it is a little silly and very influenced by Fable and that people wouldn't really know that Alduin was dead, but you do have to take everything in Skyrim with a grain of salt, like people knowing you're dragonborn despite your face being covered and you never being to that city before, it's basicly the same thing. In the same way we could assume that an event as powerful as the death of what is basically a god, in the heavens, wouldn't have some kind of visibal magical falloutt on the Nirn. As for the people rewarding you, I meant in the way a governing body might fund the construction, much like in real life, the council don't go door to door asking people to give them money to build a statue, they use the excising funds at their desposal
  4. Now this is just an idea that I had floating around in my head to reward the player for finishing the main quest, with a neutral reward that still has multiple options, whilst keeping work to a minimum. I've included all three options that I had hovering around in my head, but it could be considered just the "Accepting Admiration" part, since it's a neutral option but still a nice unique reward. So you've travelled through time, learned lost knowledge and defeated the first born son of a god whilst in heaven, and were rewarded with.... bupkiss, not a sausage, diddly squat, you get the idea. Now I know some mods add a form of end quest reward, from shouts to houses, but those tend to lean towards a certain play type, and none of it is from the people, you know, those few different civilisations you just b**ch slapped a god for. So I got thinking, why not add a something to reward you for your heroic deeds, gifted from the people, whilst not leaning towards any play type? So, I came up with this The Idea: After you kill Alduin, a few days later you'd receive a letter asking you to come to the base of the throat of the world, were someone will great you and inform you the people wish to reward you (dotted with the appropriate boot licking and brown nosing), telling you they wish to erect a statue in your honour, at which point you'll be given three options: Humble Hero: Say there's no need, you were only doing your duty etc. which will garnish an insistence that a small shrine be erected in your honour, it would be a humble little stone alter, with some flora, candles, sacks and a lock box for people to leave you offerings (this is for a more heroic and humble Dragonborn, honour bound and what not) Accepting Admiration: Happily accept the offer of recognition for your deeds, which will results in thanks for you coming and the erection of a statue of you, wearing noble clothing (no hat), it would feature some more sources of light (like braziers) and more flora, a few more sacks and a basic chest instead of the lock box. (fitting of a normal Dragon born, not to humble of their accomplishments but happy with the admiration) Gods Greed: Scoff at the arrogance of the petty mortals of Tamerial and demand a great shrine! You'll be greeted with a rather stunned response, but your demand will be accepted. A giant ass statue (Mehrunes Dagon statue size) of you sitting on a throne in a Jarls stance, whilst wearing regal clothing (again no hat) will be constructed, surrounded by ever more flora, even more lighting (like giant fire pits), even more sacks and a fancy chest for offerings (most suited for your overbearing, evil overlord Dragonborn) Other Stuff: The reasoning behind the statue wearing noble cloths and regal cloths is because it doesn't lean towards any faction or play through style, and allows for fewer things to need to be re textured to have a proper stone appearance (since there would need to be a new texture for a vanilla throne, hairs, skin, and possibly scars and war paint). Also a script would be required to be able to use the player appearance a build to. So that's all folks, if you read through the giant wall of text, thanks for sticking in there ;D
  5. I imagine the dark elves being the slaves actually. Some argonian pirates seeing the hunting of the great houses as not enough repayment for their enslavement so making it their business to enslave (and torture) any and every dark elf they find, could make for a very interesting and tense relationship between the argonian leader and a dark elf leader of another faction, a very delicate peace between each other given the rampant racism between them, maybe even a quest to break that peace with some minor action so they eliminate each other (ordered by one of the more influential factions to make sure neither of them grow powerful enough to become "problematic"?) As for the khajiit, I don't think any particular race holds a specific grudge or alliance with them, which still makes them viable slaves, since no one's a massive supporter of their kind either
  6. It's called being press-ganged, the name comes from a coin being pressed into the victims hand when they were unconscious, so the crew could say they had been paid a fee to join. Another technique was to buy a man a drink with a coin at the bottom, once they'd drank it the coin was considered paid to them, it's why some old taverns would have tankards with glass bottoms, so you could check your drink before you had any.
  7. I was wondering if anyone could combine the blades armour and the grey beards robes to make a unique set? I've mashed something together but it's far from usable in game, it's more of a proof of concept, but it might give the idea of what I mean. Thanks in advance for any reply :)
  8. Problem solved, reinstalled it manually and it's working, not sure what was going on.
  9. Definitely using SKSE launcher, and I installed it exactly how gopher does in his video, both using NMM and doing it by just dropping the scripts in.
  10. So I've downloaded and installed SKSE about three times and use the SKSE launcher to launch the game, but Skyrim doesn't detect it. Wet and cold tells me the most recent version isn't detected and the race menu mod doesn't work either. My Skyrim is up to date and connected to Steam, the local game cache is fully intact and I downloaded the most recent SKSE and NMM. Does anyone have any ideas or advice as to what's going on here? Thanks in advance for any replies :)
  11. I cut off some of flying parts from the airship in path in elyswer in an attempt to make a pirate style ship, this is the result
  12. Thanks nightinglaem I've PM'd him about were he got it. That's awesome Xion!
  13. I just checked and there isn't one, but there is one in the vanilla game (gallows rock noose) I just can't seem to find the mesh for it in the game files
  14. Well Look At That no less than four armour mods for samurai armour, found by searching "samurai" on the Skyrim nexus! all different, three of them modify blades armour and one is a totally new set ported from Oblivion, and there are enough katana mods out there you're bound to find one, by searching "Katana"
  15. Yar, here be a gallows to stick on the side of a building or something. It's made from crates and carts, cheap and dirty, just like the pirates. Oh and it's missing a noose, I can't for the life of me find that mesh. Don't know if it'd be of any kind of use but thought I'd knock one together anyway. I do like the sound of the brawl hall, I think either option for the fights is good :) Also, I'd like to see some form of building that's a small cave with furniture, don't know what it could be, but I think it'd be a nice addition :)
  16. Honestly I'm not sure how active Jaysus is other than making his mod, so I'm unsure if you'll ever get a reply, but it was worth a shot! Fantastic, could maybe use a slightly grubbier texture but a sword is a sword! Just finishing up the first concept for some gallows. At present they're not free standing, it'd be added to the side of a building for support and there's no trap door, the platform is just shorter than the arm the rope swings from (it seemed to me a trapdoor is a lot of work for a pirate when a swift kick can do the job just fine)
  17. Ah, it'll only be little stuff, no credit needed really If any of you guys have something you want me to try and mash together that you don't have time to do just give me a shout and I'll try my hand at it
  18. Glad ol' stumpy seems popular. I can try and whip some other stuff together to if you like? nothing fancy just moving and mashing vanilla meshes, maybe try and cobble together a set of gallows or something, like some kind of chest with shackles on it, sort of an ironic punishment for thieves? I was also thinking maybe add a little cave hidden on the shore, just a bed in it furniture wise, but a large water filled hole in the middle, so players can haphazardly drop their booty in there, pirate style? I'll help in any way I can guys (which isn't much) but things like making stuff like old stumpy, were it's just moving meshes around, but takes a while and is tedious, I'm happy to do
  19. I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to make a small cave player home, just a bed, a mannequin and a chest. If possible I'd love a small pit in the centre, pretty narrow and deep and filled with water, to drop loot into. I feel like it would make a great player home for a thief/pirate :) thanks in advance for any replies folks
  20. it's a really good mod but adds a ton of weapon, thinking maybe you could use a light version that uses ones the fit with the theme of the mod?
  21. Hey, just wondering if you'd asked permission from Jaysus to use some of his swords in the mod? there are some that are perfect for pirates, and a combination of the basket handle sword and one of the katana blades with a re texture by another modder would make a fantastic unique curved cutless,
  22. I was thinking if he is in there somewhere, to save having to voice a description add a poorly written note on a near by table from the barman, addressing the fact he's sick of explaining the damn skeleton and anyone to stupid to read the note will get some form of punishment from him
  23. Added some booty to captain stumpy (or stubby) not sure if it makes it any better or worse but I thought it was a bit bland. These are all just proof of concept so feel free to do whatever you want with them if you like them Stumpy with some booty
  24. So I was thinking of something that could be used as a sign for the tavern and it sort of evolved into an idea for a shrine so you can get a unique blessing, no idea what to call this thing so I've just been calling him Captain Stumpy. It's far from perfect but it sort of evolved over time so it was never meant to be anything specific. It's all vanilla resources except the hat and eye patch, which are from the seadog armour set. Picture of Stumpy
