Unfortunately, when I try this, I just get logged out and can't log back in to actually download the mod... This happened to me as well. Clear your browser cookies (probably just from Nexus is okay, but I just cleared them all so I'm not sure) and it worked fine for me. Also, if anybody has the extension HTTPS Everywhere installed, add nexus as an exception or it'll just redirect you to https again.
