  1. I've been attempting to download this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/30673?tab=description and it keeps giving me the incorrect zip file. I bought premium to see if downloading manually from a different server would work, but now I'm getting 403 Forbidden nginx/1.11.5 each time I try a server other than the CDN. I'm not running a VPN or anything, which apparently might cause the issue according to older threads. I do run off a wifi hotspot from a mobile internet account, however, if that is an issue.
  2. This is awesome, thank you. I'd love to get into KC:D modding!
  3. So, I'm attempting to put this body on a follower: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18529/? Every time I do, the CK crashes. My process: 1. Create an Armor Addon for each body part (torso and hands + textures) 2. Create an Armor with the body parts. 3. Go into the Actor menu and in the skin drop-down select the Armor. The CK then crashes. Are there steps I'm missing in this process? I thought it was pretty straight forward for the body. I've set it up for the proper race and sex.
  4. This is really neat and I look forward to playing around with it. Thanks for sharing!
  5. I haven't really looked at the dirt mound objects tbh so I can't say, but I'd be worried with ragdoll physics freaking out if something that didn't have a hollow mesh was placed on them. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17192/? give this mod a try! it even puts in an item you can dump a body into.
  6. oh dang would have been cool if there was a mod already, i got this mod http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/13431/?, lets you smoke cigars and cigarettes but its a standing still animation only dang thats pretty awesome, thanks for the mod links, i was kinda hoping to continue to learn how to just make my own mod but still thank you very much man, u r da best :3 Basically, for making your own, you're going to have to take the cigarette .nif and turn it into a properly positioned head piece that goes in the correct item slot (since I'm assuming you'd want to to be able to be worn with helmets). There's several ways you can do this via nifskope, 3ds max, or even with body slide's tools. The easiest way without having to learn a new piece of software like 3ds max would be to create a mashup. Here's a little noob friendly tutorial on how to do that and what tools you'll need. And don't worry about it already being done. If it's what you want to make, do it. It's a way to learn! http://arideya.tumblr.com/post/139307195693/arideyas-guide-to-modding-fo4-outfits-outfit
  7. You would have to lower the volume of the sound file it uses itself. Take a poke in this mod, which does the same thing: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2819/?
  8. The only problem I see with this is the workshop item would have to edit the terrain in order to place an actual grave within the ground. A raised portion of dirt with a hole in the center as a base or a dome of dirt that's hollow in the center to place over the body would work. There's no way as far as I know to place a workshop item that edits terrain and would allow them to just be dumped in.
  9. There are tons of tutorials for just about everything under the sun you would want to make. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_EdJQdMuww That's a video tutorial about the absolute basics of the creation kit. http://www.creationkit.com/fallout4/index.php?title=Video_Tutorials There's a bunch more. Get started with those and start playing around. Honestly, the easiest way to learn it to just get in there and try simple things.
  10. Aah thank you so much! I wasn't expecting that much help, haha. It'll really help with learning the syntax better looking at that too. I'll let you know if anything goes wonky.
  11. I gotcha! I appreciate the help. I'd definitely also appreciate a little more detail whenever you have time. Maybe when F4SE is a little more advanced I can make the full mod I had in mind.
  12. So, I've been trying to add keywords to holotapes via scripts so they could be displayed, but to no avail (I'm not a scripter by any means). So I decided to just make my own custom container. I'm fine with it just being a static mesh, but I'd really like it to change from empty to full depending on if there is an item inside or not. I don't need it to display the specific holotape, but just change from one nif to another (empty to full). Is this feasible with a workshop item or is that only viable with a completely static container placed in a cell?
  13. It's probably a personal edit they did using Bodyslider or its from another site.
  14. Depends on what I'm working on, actually. Mood is very important for workflow! Right now for the two mods I'm working on I'm flip flopping between these two genres
  15. I'm trying to bring over my Makeup for Men to XBOX. It edits the human race ID to add the extra makeup slots. I used the updated CK to get the textures working, but that only fixed the freezing problem. Now the makeups don't show up at all on the character when scrolled over in the menus. Is there something I'm missing aside from the export feature offered by Beth? I can't seem to find anything on optimizing for xbox.. pretty much anywhere. Or is my mod one of those that just won't work on the console?
  16. It's probably either: A. Load order conflict B. A mod you downloaded not having all of the requirments (f4se etc) C. A mod conflict Do you use anything like LOOT to help with your load order? Did you double check all of your mods for their requirements or that they'll work nicely with another mod?
  17. The lack of customization with your downloads (optional files as an example) and the shoddy threads that turn interaction with mod makers and users into a chore on Bethesda makes Nexus the clear choice for me. Also you know.. the rampant theft going on at Bethesda just puts a bad taste in my mouth.
  18. Elianora did a video tutorial on how to do this, though it's with small mods:
  19. Hm, it could also have something to do with the .nif and snapping, but I haven't dabbled much with that so I can't say.
  20. Ah this sounds fun. I miss living in Seattle and seeing it blown up would be a.. blast. I sent a message offering some help!
  21. Haha, well that's not annoying in the slightest or anything. At least this creation kit doesn't crash as much as the other one??
  22. You need to add the proper keyword to the metal box you created (not the workshop bit, but the actual container/static you created) It's WorkshopStackableItem. That should hopefully work. It's under the Actor Values http://puu.sh/p29hZ/b87855571c.png
  23. Also as an aside for anyone looking to upload files, if you want to upload for both PC and consoles, you have to make a separate upload for each one, so you'll ultimately have three uploaded to Bethesda.net. I'm just labeling PC as normal and console with (XBOX) and soon (PS4) before the name.
