    NMM, can't login

    Not sure where to put this, so I'm dropping it here for now

     

    Can't login to NMM

    Gives me the good ol "either your firewall is blocking it or login servers are down"

     

    I'm sure i'd be seeing some topics about how the login servers are down, so I don't think it's that

     

    anyone know how to fix this?

     

    Uninstalled NMM, installed newest version, works now.

    Try disabling any 2K or higher texture mods. Really I mean it, I recently installed over 110 mods. All work perfectly, they improve graphics, immersion lights and FX, Static mesh, they are all good - but I simply abandoned all those 2K resolution mods. It was not worth the crashing. Really you can have even 200 mods in my opinion, but nothing highres, only does bad things to the game most of the time. Dunno if it worked for you before, but I can tell you that these mods are the Crash-Cancer I always experienced. Try it without them, and perhaps start adding those mods you removed before. Just no High Resolution Stuff.

    Just in case, are you able to read a papyrus crash log?

    I experienced this issue last time I installed 2K textures mod. I could play like 15-30 minutes, then it crashed out of nowhere. Should you be in possesion of that particular mod the best guess is that it causes these crashes. After I disabled that mod I played Skyrim for 11 hours in one piece. I recon that PC ram no matter how strong simply can't continously read such a big world improved with that kind of HighRes.

    I've only got the same 2k texture mods I had when it worked perfectly? I've not changed anything since then other than severely cut down the amount of mods I've got in general

    I suppose I could.. ugh. I could remove the few I have and see if it fixes it

    First of all, too many mods can cause such instability that it doesn't matter what they update, they are simply too many, Second, most mods that crash the game (I guess you mean crash right after the Bethesda logo screen) crash it because you they are missing some core file and in terms of mods it means - if you don't have file that some mod requests to have - will crash. Now you said that you thinned number of mods. Now to your problem, you said before it worked with 180 mods - that was before reinstall, does it work without mods now?

    nono, I can start the game. Play for some random amount of time, it isn't consistent. It'll just crash without warning during gameplay.

    Anyway, I uh. Haven't tried to play without mods, I guess, so I can't really say. Can't imagine why it wouldn't?

    Well, that depends if it still crashed before you installed any mods at all.

    I've had the game run perfect at around 180 mods before. What broke it was me updating a few mods. Ruined my install. Since then I've not been able to get the game stable again, even after reinstalling it twice, reducing the mods each time.

    I'm at 71 mods now, and it still just CTDs with no error message or anything

    Welp, I reinstalled skyrim cause my last install was crashing and I couldn't fix it, and I've gone pretty barebones in terms of mods this time to try to keep it stable.

    Well, still crashing, and I just need someone to tell me why.

    Male texture mods?

    Can someone point me in the direction of a good male retexture mod that doesn't have too high res and isn't too porcelain? Something prettier but still fitting the theme of the game. Thanks in advance!

    Skyrim severely broken

    (UPDATE) : Figured out the problem. It's my horse. If I save the game after riding him, the game breaks upon loading that save. Has something to do with either my enhanced camera mod or convenient horses.

     

     

    So, this is new.

    I was playing business as usual sometime earlier, then left for about half an hour and came back.

    When I loaded my save, well.

    My camera was centered on my horse for I have no clue why.

    I typed player.tc and disabled player control, then did it again and it centered on me again, effectively fixing it.

    The problem is, this happens in every save made recently, and half the time the game crashes when I load it.

    I've not made any changes to my load order lately that had any immediate effect, and I've been travelling around skyrim quite a lot since I last made a change, which was uninstalling a few mods I wasn't using. Small time stuff I believe. Nothing huge or script heavy as far as I know.

    UPDATE:

    I suspect it has something to do with either Convenient Horses, Skyrim Enhanced Camera, or Notice Board

    Any saves prior to me turning in two notice board quests doesn't have this game break. And I'm suspicious of the horse/camera mods because the problem was that my view was stuck on the horse.

    Any help would be great

    Figured it out (to anyone who might be having issues as well.)

    Use Oblivion Mod Manager (OMOD) rather than Nexus Mod manager (NMM) with Oblivion.

    And always use BOSS rather than LOOT. (Load order tools)

     

    If I had seen a post saying that when I was having troubles, my problem would have been solved right there lol.

    Freeside thugs.

    Those greasy robbers that seem to respawn every time I come back to Vegas for the odd quest or to just dump some loot in the 38

     

    I mean, sure, respawns are fine. Get some new enemies to gun down whenever you walk back into town. That's fine.

    What isn't fine, though, is that, for some reason the corpses never despawn.

    It's at the point where I've got dozens of thug corpses littering the streets

     

    Is there a mod I can install that like

    stops thugs from spawning? Because this is ridiculous.

    Having to wade through the corpses of thugs I've killed weeks ago buried under the corpses of the thugs I just killed the last time I passed through

     

    On top of being just absurd it's starting to affect my performance in Vegas and just
