About M&B Warband...what i can't understand is why it is only @ a 1GB file and Skyrim is @ 5GB and yet they're somewhat "similar" games...I know Skyrim is an open world with more dungeons etc....But does it really take that extra 4GB?...and don't forget about the Huge battles in M&B compared to Skyrim...Has M&B got a better "engine"?.tc.
"M&B: Warband's" engine is kind of ugly and old. I think it is inferior even to Gamebryo.
The combat system and multiplayer is where M&B really shines in my opinion.
In M&B there are many zones/maps and a strategic overview map. But I think the developers did a great job despite of the limitations of the engine. Also, "Taleworlds", the developer, is a small company without "Bethesda's" resources.
I think their next game (M&B2) will take a lot more GB on the harddrive with the use of a modern engine.
So could it be the "coding" {i really know nothing about coding & engines} that causes the "lag" in Skyrim ...from what i've read it was actually built for console & ported to pc ?...I recall many years ago that a "modder" actually introduced a better code system for Diablo2 that made it more efficient & fluent in operation & "opened the doors" so to speak.....Hope the same can be done for Skyrim as the lack of "Hot Keys" {amongst other things in vanilla} speaks for itself....one questions why it wasn't built on pc & ported to console....Surely it would have allowed for a more "broader" combat system. tc.

Having a "lock on target" maybe a nice thing to have...although some "realism" peeps might not like the idea...considering that IRL you would have to be careful where you're striking.
As for say upper cut, left/right slash or top down strikes....Might I suggest you up your health to some crazy level and go and fight Brynjolf for a while in Riften {he's great for "practicing" for obvious reasons}.....It is possible to do upper cut, lefts,rights, top down,top down+ RH left to right slash and triple turn attacks{if duel wielding} using power attacks & by switching from "crouch" to "standing" positions the only flaw is {i use PC} is that there is a "lag" between switching from crouch to standing {which i hope gets rectified} ...hmm i may be mistaken about the uppercuts although it works in "bare fisted"{when crouching}...And I have noticed that there is a "clashing" of swords ...which i noticed recently while using "Ebony Blade" as a two handed weapon....perhaps it has something to do with the blocking possibility of 2H weapon that can cause the colliding "clash" when pc & attacker are both striking {so it's in there somewhere}....But YEAH i'd like to see "dual wield blocking" as well...i'ts so illogical not to. OH and and some peeps want "parry"...pfft !!!..that's why we can move back & sideways.

There's this one BUT it speeds all weapons pc uses: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5109

ahh, but what I meant was exactly taking the data and building statistical output (preferably with graphs), the likely to satisfy every teacher around the world... well... most :)
PS: if it proves something I really don't know but makes for a heck of good impression
I don't need to go that far, that in and of it's self would be a project.
Yes it does make for a good impression, I'm pretty confident that I will get the approval on this project.
I'm still waiting for someone to construct a mathematical proof that demonstrates the existence of a modding community...
For what it's worth, I about spit my tea all over my monitor when I read that! :laugh:
Quite funny.
It is, especially to someone that has spent a good portion of her career being asked to find objective ways to represent subjective data! :tongue:
I sadly didn't get it. I'm guessing it would be to much to ask for someone to explain?
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=I5P_MbxEhQE
Around 9 minutes in, he goes on for 3 minutes about the balance of Skyrim and the challenge level. He talks about not only how mods can affect the challenge level, but how they should affect the challenge level.
Alright I'm taking a look at it now and seeing what I can quote from the Video.
Once again thanks everyone for your help on this, I really appreciate it.
Ah ha ...think this is the right angle:
-
What if the Dragon's got worms?????....A new animation?.... :laugh:.
-
In the third part of the gameplay video from before release, they showed the dovahkiin absorbing a dragon soul, then yelling a victory cry. Can anyone make it so this happens when you absorb a soul?

I hope you can add some brawling when/if the opportunity arises...like it could be a "grey paladin's" method of persuasion ....nothin' like the taste of blood and a few teeth being spat out to change someone's mind. tc.
-
@Mercami
I thought I was adding shades of grey to the story be giving the player more options than before. Did you read quest #6? There are options there a purely good character wouldn't choose.When first seeing the option in quest # 5...first impression was "whoa! you've jumped tracks"...thought this was aimed at being a "good paladin" type and therefore would be able to use persuasion....same as you did in the first draft of quest # 6....I thought if wanted to kill people...could just join the DB...Are you doing this to perhaps prevent it from getting "boring or mundane"....perhaps a "brawling option" would be more suitable...EG: PC: maybe i should give you a taste of what you're requesting {Brawl}. Besides there isn't enough brawling in the game...just my 2cents...Keep up the good work!. tc.

To take the mod a bit further, maybe your character takes some damage from the impact of the "Projectile poop".
In all seriousness, the OP brings up a point I've wondered about for a while. Can the force of falling objects (other than those scripted cave-ins) harm players and NPCs? My gut instinct is no, at least for any object that can be added to the inventory, but I've never had an opportunity to test it.
Regarding the mod, it's kind of a silly idea, but I can see myself trying it out for a laugh.
Telekinesis does some mild damage{also fun} so.....maybe?
But yeah I'd try a mod like this too...this game needs more laughs.tc.

OK! i'll bite, To be honest there are times when this game strains me eyes more than any...maybe to do with FPS in some locations when turning view...IDK for sure.
But yes if you're referring to the "night vision" blur...YES I would like it removed as well....i think it's a bit too much...kinda like the blood on screen...bloody ridiculous[pun intended] if ya ask me...that's why have we eyelids and can blink...IRL blood would only last a second if that.
Although me thinks a lot of modders are busy with other projects, i hope this would be a simple one...perhaps something in the ini file...hopefully someone knowledgeable could add some insight. tc.
-
"Torchlight" had a shared stash also Diablo "Hellfire" had the corner of the world...in both instances only one item could be left for the next character...as for it being a cheat...more than likely...but probably "fun".
As for implementing such a thing...lotsa luck...the save system as it stands needs some "fixing"...maybe some talented modder will have a dig at fixing it and if possible ...add a shared stash...like it would be totally up to the player as to whether to use it or not. GL. tc.

@iondragonx
That said, you should be able to do undercover work and pretend to perform evil acts in the pursuit of getting closer to the ultimate goal. Framing the innocent shopkeeper could be a set up with the guards. Pay the shopkeeper ahead of time for his participation and have him hauled off to jail as theatre for the Guild to believe that you succeeded. When the Guild lets you in, destroy it from the inside and have the shopkeep exonerated to end it. There's not as much red tape in a dark ages setting, its all about influence.I like this idea except ya shouldn't need to pay shopkeeper, after all ya want to help him.But it maybe somewhat difficult as the guards are in the TG's pocket...not forgetting Maven Briar and her "holier than thou" attitude.....Actually hate the"high horse attitude" from most of TG's members....it would be nice to give them a good "legitimate" butt kicking {destroy}.
There is a mod already for the near dead enemies to be Calmed for 30 days. The basis is: If you have your weapons out, you are threatening everyone around you with assault.What's the name of this mod or could you post link to it?. tc.

I put this on the Nexus to send it to someone, so I guess I better post about it. I've made an .ods (OpenOffice) spreadsheet transcribing oh, a few thousand of the voice files, got 'em lined up with much of the quest, NPC name, type of dialogue, etc all mapped out. I've done the shouts too and made a quick quest guide for it, so if you're looking for a specific voice file, this might help you track it down.
There's no readme, no explanation other than on the download page. Don't know if that's rude, but it's pretty self-explanatory.
Oh, if you can't open an .ods file, go to OpenOffice.org and get their stuff. Works great, open source, free. Can't beat it.
I just downloaded that & open office...Had a look-see...Kudos for you +1 :thumbsup: ....I remember when making a module in NWN2 playing all the files and writing down the numbers that were needed on a notepad...OH so time consuming!!!....peeps are gonna love this, TY.tc.

If Hircine's neutral...why would he give a s**t about Kodlak's soul?...or does Chaotic==a**hole?
Yes. That's almost exactly what that alignment means.
As I can plainly tell you're not familiar with the classic D&D alignment system, lemme tell you about it:
There's two axis. One is Order and Chaos, the other is Good and Evil
Now, basically, Chaotic Good is your renegade cop. Lawful Good is your law-abiding, warrant toting enforcer. Neutral Good is somewhere inbetween.
Same can be said about Lawful Evil and Chaotic Evil.
So in essence, yes, Hircine IS an a**hole. Neutrality is essentially not giving a s***. CHAOTIC Neutral is not giving a s*** at others' expense.
TY that's a very good explanation :thumbsup:.
So it seems my pc was an evil a**hole every time she killed all her companions in NWN2oc :devil::excl: :laugh:.tc.

I assume it's a common problem for PC users, and is due to the UI being designed for console use. It's most often triggered after a window opens during a dialogue sequence (ie. trade). I don't know of any fix, but it annoys the hell out of me too.
So if Console's never existed==No problem? :armscrossed: ...Could not the game have been built on a PC and ported to Console?...have always used PC ...never a console...What's the purpose of a console anyway?.
In anycase thanks for your reply, hopefully a "fix" will turn up soon. tc.

@Mercami
I wouldn't really think that being a Vampire or Werewolf would make you "evil". It would be possible for someone to become one from being involved in a fight against one.Try telling that to the city if you're a Vampire and haven't "fed" for 72 hours.
@redneck1st
So let me get this straight the OP wants to be able to sit down and have milk and cookies with the foresworn; kill of the DB and the TG and have tea and crimpets with the silver hands who are known bandits after it's al said and done right? Sounds like it would make for a boring game. And now I need to go kills some foresworn. <EG>Only if they've got "Rummed Coffee"...and straight Rum with the Foresworn females!.
@alienraven
Hircine is'nt good or evil really, hes chaotic neutralEvil? no a**hole maybe, he did'nt make Kodlak become a werewolf he could have refused.If Hircine's neutral...why would he give a s**t about Kodlak's soul?...or does Chaotic==a**hole?

Hi, am having problems with the dialogue answer that i choose ...Not being used ...but rather some other dialogue response.
Have tried enabling/disabling 360 controller ...makes no difference {am using mouse/keyboard}.
It doesn't happen all the time, although have become rather careful making selection ie: i make sure it's highlighted and on the arrow....but it does not guarantee that the selection will work...it can still give a response that is not wanted...have also tried using mouse LB or the "E" ...doesn't help.
It gets annoying particularly in long conversations eg: the peace talk at High Hrothgar.
Is there a fix for this? ...have searched to no avail. TY. tc.

@alienraven
sorry but why is being a werewolf bad exactly?Is Hircine Evil? or Good? & doesn't Hircine take souls - thus preventing them to go to Sovngard?
?When transforming to a werewolf via the companions is there not a period of "not remembering" what happened?[could have killed an innocent]---I ask as am not sure as have only completed the companions once & won't do it again until the "conversation bug" is fixed {it was incredibly difficult to do while being interrupted every 5 seconds}
Hircine is'nt good or evil really, hes chaotic neutral as are quite a few of the deadra (namely Malacath, Sanguine, Sheogoth, Nocturnal, Clavicus vile, Azura and auguably Hermaeus Mora )
yes HIrcine takes souls but he doe'snt take them to hell he takes them to his hunting ground where they get to hunt alongside him forever.
Isn't one of the companions Kodlak? who wants his soul to go to Sovngard...But because he's a werewolf he cannot...wouldn't that make Hircine to some degree "evil" by ensnaring his soul?.

Aside from running into the line of fire, companions have this thing about running into you and at some of the worst times. They will sometimes push you into a trap or over a ledge. There has to be a mod that makes them keep their distance (there just has to be!). This annoyance is written into their code because of the responses from them, they recoil backwards when you turn to them, it's like some sadistic form of immersion. I actually yell at them.
Try this although it may not work exactly as you would like but it may help: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4020

Also it would be fantastic if anyone has ideas as to what Bob's secret is. I have a few ideas rolling around but I'll welcome other options!What you've written so far is good and how you've kept the good/evil choice open....Good construction thought :thumbsup:
As for "Bob" it would seem he's probably an ex DB member &/or had connections with the TG...maybe been a similar type as Delvin.....but i'm not a creative writer by any means.
However i want to draw your attention to this: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/498321-kill-brynjolf/
Post # 16.......As it may be of some interest to you regarding "Bob's" secret...maybe he has something to do with eliminating TG.......As far as i can tell i know nothing more about the "white X"....perhaps you can enlighten....but just as the last post suggests it could be an opening for a mod... and perhaps a way to link Bob somehow...or perhaps useful for a follow up for the "good" path.
Hope it helps in some way. GL tc.
Being Malkavian...the whispers are telling me that Bob is some type of a high priest and therefore knows how to utilize the sealed spell book and "turn" it so that it summon's a "good" type of spirit guardian instead of a spectral assasin......

Agreed......
This game to me is as shallow as a light shower on a hot summers day {OK maybe a little to harsh}.....How about ...described as if it were a car that's for sale: FOR SALE one old bomb still runs, many new parts needed and lots of TLC, drive away {may need tow truck on odd occasion}...price NOT negotiable.ph 7448269..NO tyre kickers.

@stewwmann
Hi, thanks for the reply. The mods do not show up in the data file box at launch. NMM just says activated succesfully. And on the clean install machine I did get 1 mod to install manually(skimpy aurmor) just droped the 1 "mesh" file in data and bingo. This machine has standard install of steam on c/ program files. It doesn't show up in the data box either- but works.Still can not get any thing fmods with multipule files to work. I mean, I didn't JUST fall off the truck. I do know drag/drop/copy/paste/merge/overwrite. I don't get it(obviously).HAHA you seem more computer literate than me. Out of curiosity did any of the mods come with an ESP file...if they did ...did you drop it into the "data" folder ?....maybe why not showing in launch data box....
Also when i instal a mod i open {in two windows-data folder in one & mod folder in the other} ..then open each folder separately IE: usually there is the "mesh" & "texture" ...so EG: i'll open the mesh & keep opening it until a different name folder shows...eg: armor, & then do the same in the other {mod} window until i get to armor...then open it once more & drag that into the armor folder.........same for texture...........hope that makes sense...sorry if it seems a clumsy method...but am self taught by trial & error. tc.

YES! finally someone who wants real "role-playing", I love the concept of lawful good chaotic evil and neutral. Having played the "backside" out of NWN2 and expansions/modules. I agree with mostly all of your ideas except one: A "sexless bloodfest"...Why not include romance, possible "close relationships" with companions something along the lines of the Dragon Age Origins concept...it added so much more to the "immersion factor" with side conversations between companions----and someone correct me if i'm wrong-- would attract a much wider interest-- "sex sells". And no i'm not into parading through town naked but do like "nice looking armor" EG: the armor that vampires wear in NWN2. And just having "hack & slash" ...well it can get somewhat boring - am not forgetting your mention of dialogue choices & relations that could prevent said "battles".
Having said that, what you're proposing is a f***ing IMMENSELY HUGE undertaking...but can also see that it would necessitate a total conversion.
Also have a somewhat limited ability using photoshop would like to assist where possible EG: armor/weapon design ideas that could be given to mesh&texture able modders to implement.
And have never done voice acting ...but am willing to give that go if it assisted you.
I wish you all the luck that could possibly be bestowed upon this project...You're gonna need it. tc.
